The officers searched the room, their eyes scanning every nook and cranny, leaving no stone unturned. They moved quickly but methodically, their movements practised and were efficient. Nothing was overlooked, nothing left to chance.

One of them wanted to prove Lily's innocence, having been from a humble background herself and the other just wanted to get the work over with so she could go back to watching the movie she had been seeing.

Priscilla's side of the room was the last place to be searched and while everyone had different emotions showing all over their faces, Lily remained calm as she stood by the window with an expressionless face.

"Found it," the first officer announced as he brought out the stolen items from Pricilla's wardrobe.

Horrified gasps filled the air as all eyes turned to face the pale-looking Pricilla who instantly began to shake her head in denial.

"Who's side of the room is this?" the second officer asked and Lily pointed to Pricilla which earned her a glare

Lily slept through her alarm the following day, after the exciting night with the officers and her scheming roommates. She had gone to sleep exhausted but with a triumphant smile on her face after making the three bow to her. She stretched and noticed that her limbs had somehow become sore as if she had been running all night. Her throat felt dry and hoarse, she frowned and took a sip of water to moisturise her throat before trying but failing to get up from the bed. With pursed lips, she placed her fingers on her wrist to check if her pulse was weak but she found out they were stronger than they had ever been, which could only mean she was healthy.'But why am I sore all over?' she mused with a frown and got out of bed after much struggle. She prepared a warm bath to soak in and ease her sore muscles, letting out a sigh of relief as the warm water engulfed her body, she relaxed and closed her eyes.As she remembered the event from the previous night, a smile bloomed on her face and

"Boss, everything for the new device is ready and the sales team are ready for work, the stores are already stocked and waiting for your go-ahead," Ted reported through the computer screen, his eyes had heavy eye bag, showing his days of long sleepless nights for the project to be completed in time. Mark hummed in reply as he read the data report that had just been sent."Tell them to begin the sales tomorrow morning and the first fifty copies should be sold at a fifty percent discount," he instructed. "Have the media team also post on the official website that fifty copies can be custom-made while the others will be sold at the same prices and model," he added and Ted documented his instruction, not trusting himself enough to remember them afterwards."Then the fifty that will be custom made can also be sold at the discounted price? Wouldn't that be a loss to the company?" He asked with a frown. Mark placed his phone on the table and picked up the glass of red wine. "No, the cust

"Wait, isn't that Celina Williams? What is she doing in year two design class?" "Maybe she's here to scout for young designers for her family's company?""Even if she is, year two designers are still amateurs, and they don't have any immediate value. Besides, she is the young miss; why would she personally do such a thing?"The students gossiped as they passed beside the beautiful fairy-like lady standing outside the second-year design class. "Is it me, or does she look more beautiful than the last time?""It's not just you; I felt the same, but I thought I was blinded by the halo of her being my idol. She truly does look more beautiful than her runway show last month.""Do you think her beauty improvement is due to the new cosmetic product her family produced?""If it's not that, then what would it be? Do you think the training and the products provided by the school are enough?"As they gossiped, Celina continued looking at the entrance of the studio with anticipation in her eyes.

Following the acquisition of the studio building, Lily and Alana got busy with setting up the place in a week in preparation for the registration of their company. "You've not had anything since morning, you should eat something," Alana pressed as she brought out two bowls of instant noodles for the two of them. Lily glanced at the meal and scrunched up her nose, not liking the look and presentation. Since she had woken up as Lily, one of the things Victoria could not get used to about the previous owner was the diet. Not only had she been fed the best food since she was a kid, Victoria had a sensitive tongue and it wasn't easy to please her with food, which was why she learnt to cook early. Alana noticed her subconscious reaction and thought nothing of it."Sorry if you aren't fond of instant noodles, I wanted to cook but I was afraid I would burn down the building," she explained with flushed cheeks. Due to her excellent needlework, she had never been allowed to do anything that

"Wow!" Alana exclaimed as she looked over Lily's shoulder to see the design she had sketched out in her sketchbook. "This is beautiful!" She added and almost snatched the booklet away from Lily's hand to stare at the design.Lily hummed and handed the book to Alana before stretching her sore muscles. She had been working on the sketch all day without moving about. "It's still missing a few things," Lily announced, and Alana frowned. She gazed down at the sketchbook, taking in the intricate details of the gown drawn on its surface. The long, flowing fabric was adorned with a pattern of stars against a midnight sky. It was a breathtaking design, one that seemed almost magical. Something out of the fairy tales. Lily walked into the kitchen and poured herself a glass of water, taking a long drink before turning back to Alana. "It just doesn't resonate with me that was why it took me this long to finish it, I always feel something is missing," she said thoughtfully. "I can't put my fin

As Lily entered her dorm, the voices of her roommates died down, and she could feel their eyes on her, judging her. The three girls sat in a circle, huddled around their phones, whispering and snickering as she walked by. From the look in their eyes, she could tell whatever they were gossiping about had to do with her. Without paying mind to them, she walked towards her side of the room and began unpacking her things. Lydia snickered with a glint in her eyes as she walked up to Lily with her hands crossed over her chest. "So all you do is pretend to be ignorant and pure? I can't believe the most righteous low-class student who refused to bow to others is such a dirty slut that seduces her best friend's brother to climb up the ladder," she snickered provocatively. Lily pursed her lips and glared up at her. "You are always sitting around gossiping about other people's problems, yet you are on the edge of being expelled from the school due to your bad grades. "I don't like the fit of this dress, ugh! It's so big and uncomfortable," Celina grumbled as she twirled around, fully dressed for the award event that was going to start in a few hours.Being one of the prominent families in the fashion industry, the Lam Fashion is held in high esteem, making attending the banquet a must for Celina who'd rather be somewhere else than entertaining some obnoxious guests. "You also think it's too overrated, don't you? I told Mum I don't like the dress but she insisted I wear it to honour the designer of the dress who would be in attendance tonight. To think I'll have to spend the next few hours hating myself, ugh!" She continued as she turned to the bored-looking Lily, dressed casually in a sweatshirt and sweatpants. "It's not over the top; it's okay; it just doesn't fit your taste. A lot of people will want to kill to have that dress you know? Just have it on for a few hours and you can change out of it later," Lily advised, making Celina scrunch up

"Sure, what do you have for me?" Mark asked, and Lily brought out her laptop. After typing away for a while, she turned it on to face him. Displayed on the screen were several codes and a small screen showing the analysis for the codes."This is the new programme I set for the Nex device. It's a major upgrade from the formal one, and there is a possibility that it would overshadow the Waves programme we did previously. I did pour out my heart into writing this programme after all," she chuckled after saying the last part."This programme will give birth to a major change in the mobile phone market. A revolutionary change," she continued, each word spoken seemed to capture Mark's heart as he stared at the programme with starry eyes."It's tempting and I can already imagine the huge profit, but what's the catch? I'm sure you could have told me all this through the site instead of meeting in person. Should I be worried I'll have to sell my soul to get it?" He asked with a teasing smile,

"Why are you dressed so suspiciously? What tricks are you up to this time?" Alana asked with a raised brow as she noticed Lily, who was dressed in a way that made her gender unrecognisable."You talk as if I'm always playing tricks," Lily replied with a playful glare. "That's because you are always planning something. Is this related to the new plans for the store or something else?" Alana asked as she looked Lily over, searching for a trace of her boss. "Are you wearing a wig and lenses right now?" She asked and Lily nodded. "If you were meeting me for the first time, would you know I'm a lady? Do I give off the perfect masculine energy?" She asked with a subtle baritone voice, making Alana gape at her in surprise."What's the heck? Yes, I would definitely know; your voice sounds fake and unnatural but you do give off a subtle masculine vibe like the transgender kind.""Are you going to commit a crime?" Alana was questioned with a suspicious expression, making Lily roll her eyes.

The lively rhythm of the club's music resounded through the air as Frederick leaned in towards the man sitting beside him, his voice barely audible over the deafening beat."How was the investigation? Any response yet?" He asked, his eyes briefly flicking towards his companion before settling back on the mesmerising dancer on stage, twirling seductively around the pole at the centre of the stage. He took a slow sip of his wine, fingers toying with the stem of the glass as he continued following the dancer’s every movement.“I’m afraid we found nothing. I already told you it was an impossible task without a name or any mode of identification,” Devon, his companion, and one of his few friends replied casually with a grin while he played with the woman on his arm. Frederick frowned at his response; this was the third person who had told him the same thing that very day.As promised, he had started looking into the identity of the hacker or programmer working with Mark on his newest pro

As Light walked out of the room, Lily's eyes found Gary's cold ones. Seeing the accusations in his eyes, she lifted her hands in surrender."I was not aware he was coming. I swear I was not in the know," she hurriedly explained, and Gary let out a frustrated sigh."I know. He has our family traits in him; he's determined and stubborn, he would not have stopped until he met me, it's something I had done when I found out about him also." Gary scoffed as he relaxed into the chair."It runs in the family, and seeing the bruise on his lips, I can tell he fought with his father before he came to see me," he added."I thought you were the one that hit him," Alana chimed, earning a glare from Gary."And why would I hit him? On the face, no less? You think I want to ruin his pretty boy appearance?" He asked, and Alana shrugged.Lily sighed as she examined Gary. Although he was putting on a strong front, she could tell he was affected by the sudden meeting between him and his twin brother. She
