Chapter 7 We have a deal!

Natalie’s POV

“Thank you, Alpha Brown” I say and almost jump from the happiness I feel right now. He will support me to take the Red Blood Pack from Adam. One more alpha on my side means one step closer to achieving my goal.

“Yes, we will talk at the Alpha’s party, of course we will. And thank you one more time” I say and end the call.

“How many said that we can count them?” Kelly suddenly asks me and now that she said that I am even more happier.

“Thirteen” and I close my eyes and enjoy the moment. “ With Alpha Brown, I have thirteen Alpha wolves on my side. Do you know what that means, Kelly?” I ask and I rub my palms with excitement.

“Does that mean that Adam will kill us if he finds out what we are doing?” she asks, laughing, but I know that she doesn’t care about his actions anymore. Is not like he would surprise us if he chose to act against us again. I am already expecting that. I told you. It’s Deja-vu.

“That’s too, but it means that he will die of a heart attack when he will realize that we work on his back all this time. Revenge is a bitch, Kelly!” I say laughing “And it feels so good!”

“Now” I say smiling at him “Let’s call Alpha Kyle!”

But just as I said that I see the door opening and the persons I hate the most in this world appear in the door frame.

“Babe '' Adam says and motions to Lexie to enter my office. `I need to talk with you about something” and I can see the bitch grabbing his arms , as if she tries to protect herself from me, by doing that.

I look at him and then at Lexie’s hand around his arms and he must feel that I saw her movement because he takes a step in my direction leaving her behind.

“What do you want, Adam?” I ask without even looking at him anymore, but searching in my agenda for Alpha Kyle’s phone number. As soon those two jerks will leave me alone I will continue to call for an alliance.

“We need to talk about Lexie’s status in the Red Blood Pack and I need your cooperation for that.”

Is he kidding me?

“What status?” I ask, ignoring him. “She is just a rogue that you took pity on. And more than that she is an omega that is losing our time here, she is not even doing her duty to clean the packhouse and take care of the kitchen. So what status are you talking about? She is nothing in this pack?” and I can see Lexie sighing in pain as if my words had hurt her feelings.

“She is a rogue” I utter and smile as I just found the number I was looking for, and now I lift my gaze and look directly in Adam’s eyes.

“So why are you here?”

“I want to use the opportunity of tha Alpha’s party and publicly announce Lexie as the newest member of the Red Blood Pack.

“Ohhh…that’s all?” I ask him and he gives me a genuine smile and the bitch also relaxes a little.

“Yeah” he says, coming closer and trying to hold my hand but I slap his hand just before he could touch me and get on my feet I say.

“Over my dead body!”

“WHAT?” he growls at me and I can see his fingers forming into a fist.

“She will never have the chance to be declared a member of this pack. I will never allow that, Adam. Do you listen to me? As long as I am the Luna of this pack I will not let you humiliate me publicly and present her in front of everyone as if she is important for the Red Blood Pack. Because she is an absolute zero here. She can live secretly among the pack but never as a pack member.”

“And as long as I am the Alpha of this pack, is my decision if I will allow her to be here or not!” Adam yells in my face.

“This is for you and me to find if it is really that so” I mock him. “I don’t even know that the hell is in your head, Adam. How can you bring her in front of me and expect me to accept her?”

And hearing my question he looks at me with puppy eyes and says.

“I will keep my promise but it is my wolf, Natalie” and I already know that. “He is the one who wants to have his fated mate with him. It is so hard to resist him. He just wants to have her close, that’s all. Nothing more.”

And lying to him I say, because this is not true anymore.

“And I want to have you just for myself. What do you say about this, Adam? You marked me. And my wolf wants you so we are in some kind of contradiction here, don’t you think so?”

And I start to walk to the door, because being with these two horrible beings so close activates all my criminal skills and this will not end well.

But just as I was ready to exit the room, Lexie grabbed my arms and kneeling in front of me started to cry her heart out.

“Please Luna, please don’t throw me away from here. Don’t exile me! I will die if you do that!”

“Let me go!” I say gritting my teeth and barely refraining not to beat her, but the bitch jumped to the next level.

“Why do you hate me so much?” she asks, crying even harder. “I did nothing wrong, I just found my fated mate. Is not our fault that we need to be close to each other! It’s fate!”

And before I could realize I waved my arms, so she could let it go but as if she knew what was next as soon as I did that she stumbled and hit the floor and my desk at the same time.

Her head went to the edge of my desk and the blood spread all over the floor.

“Are you nuts, Natalie!” Adam growled at me and ran and took Lexie in his arms.

“Why the hell did you hit her? Are you so cold hearted? “ he asks with a rage that I never saw in him, before he met Lexie Banks.

“I didn’t hit her “ I say with dignity because I didn’t. I just waved my arm, but hearing my denial Lexie placed her arms around his neck, and hid her face at his chest.

“It hurts so much” she cries out making Adam look at her scared.

“You shouldn’t have done that!” Adam says with hatred. “She is innocent and I never knew that you could be so obnoxious. And you know what?” he asks me.

“You can go and eat your heart out because at the Alpha’s party not only will I announce Lexie as our new pack addition but I will reveal her true identity in front of everyone.”

And he pushed me and exited with Lexie , leaving me behind.

“What a jerk!” Kelly growled and I know that she hates him too.

“It doesn’t matter,” I say, trying to calm myself.

“But if he will reveal her identity, everything will become damned hard for us.” Kelly whispers with concern.

“Actually that’s not true.” And thinking about it I went back to my desk and sat on my chair.

“That means that we need to intensify our efforts and search for help until the Alpha’s party.”

“But the party is just a few days away!” Kelly says a little bit scared. “We don’t have time to talk with everyone”

“We have, if this is all we will do all day long.” and I started the call I was ready to initiate before Adam showed up and ruined my mood.

This is an opportunity. I will prove myself in front of everyone and I will make them see the difference between me and that rogue. I will make Adam look like a fool in front of everyone and let the others see how stupid he is. With out me this pack would be nothing. I am the heart and the brain behind Red Blood Pack. I can’t let this chance fly away.

And I worked hard for the next few days and I put all my soul to support my cause in front of others, telling everyone the truth. Adam will never expect this and if he really intends to bring Lexie at the party everyone will judge him for that.

At least he didn't bring that bitch in front of us since our last incident.

“We will make it, girl!” Kelly tells.

“We will, we are just a step close to that” and I close my eyes and lean on my sofa. Dreaming of the day when everyone who hurt us will pay, but as I was dreaming of my revenge my phone started to ring.

“Evan Leonard,” Kelly says shocked , as she sees his name on my phone’s screen. “Answer him!” she commands me.

He is Alexander Stepanek’s beta, the Alpha who mocked me. SO why is he calling me?

“Answer him, woman!” Kelly persuades me. Of course I am going to answer his call.

“Evan” I say, a little bit taken aback, because I have no idea what he wants.”

“I thought that you would ignore my call” he says with a soft laugh.

“Well, is it not your fault that your Alpha is a scoundrel?” I said with confidence and that made him laugh. “What can I do for you, Evan?” I ask him and become more relaxed seeing that he is not calling me to scold me for mocking his alpha.

“Are you really divorcing?” he asked me directly and that made me block for a second.

“Sorry for being so direct but Alex told me what you asked him and that is a little bit confusing for me. I thought that you and Adam Hawkins were in love.”

“Well, Evan” I tell him with a lot of sincerity. “I thought the same thing until he showed up at my door with his fated mate in his arms, claiming that he can’t live without her.”

“Is he insane, Natalie?” Evan growls. “You are marked! That values more than a bond mate right now! He can’t act like that!” and his reaction made me laugh.

“Evan, I'm glad to hear you saying that because in the last few weeks I thought that I was crazy, for being the only one who sees a problem in his actions.”

“This is bullshit, Natalie. When are you divorcing? “ he asks suddenly and I swear that I feel a little bit of joy in his voice as he says that.

“When I will be absolutely certain of my victory. I can’t risk losing everything, Evan. Even if the Red Blood Pack does not deserve me, this was my home in the last…” shit I was ready to say thirty three years, but now that I came back I am...” in the last twenty one years. I worked hard for this pack and I consider myself entitled to become the Alpha of the Red Blood Pack. So until I will not be sure that I have support , I will just wait. But I am doing this , Evan. Is happening. I already reached my limit and I had enough of my so-called chosen mate. What he did to me is unforgivable!”

“He is a jerk, Natalie. “ and stopping for a few seconds I can hear him growling. He is upset.

“I will come to the Alpha’s party too. I hope that you will be there too” he says and his voice is calm and sweet and I have no idea what is going on with him. He seems…nervous? What the hell?

“I would like to talk to you at the party, face to face. “

“I would like that” I say trying to make him feel more comfortable because he seems to be lacking in words.

“Then we have a deal,” he says laughing. “See you in two days, Natalie”

“Bye , Evan” it’s all I say because he has already ended the call.

What was that?

“You could say that he was asking a girl out on a date for the first time in his life,” Kelly laughs. “Even if he was not doing it, of course. He was just polite.”

Of course he wasn’t. BUt you know what?

I am happy.

Having Even Leonard on my side is like having his Alpha by my side, even if the guy is a scoundrel. But Even is a good guy. That’s enough for the moment.
