Chapter 40

“Well… He’s fucking charming. He literally just has to look at me with those big bronze eyes and shoot me a thousand dollar smile and my panties are on the ground.” She said. Amethyst started laughing so hard.

“He’s also very rough with sex. Thank god I wasn’t a virgin, he might have killed me the first time… But I will say he definitely has the experience to know what the fuck he’s doing.” She said.

I just shook my head. “Wait, wait, wait… So you guys are telling me that I'm the only damn one that hasn’t slept with my Master?” I hissed.

They both just looked at me wide eyed. “You haven’t?” Amethyst cackled. “No!” I cried back. “How? You and him slept in each other's bed every single night I lived here…” Amethyst questioned.

“Yea, sleeping in each others bed is a lot different than fucking. You can sleep and not fuck.” I said, astonished that neither of them apparently could. Ambrosia raised her eyebrows at me.

“But why would you want to do that when the latter is so mu

Chapter 41The meeting seemed to go on for quite a bit of time but it was all things that needed to be discussed. The Others were seeming to be a bigger threat than I originally thought they were, and knowing that I was wearing the amulet made me nervous. Not that anyone else knew, or could possibly find out. But it was just the thought that something so important was entrusted to me, of all people… A Human, with absolutely no power to even fight back and protect it. That was fucking nerve wracking. But as long as I kept my mouth shut about it, and trust me, I wasn’t about to tell a soul, then it would be safe. They would never think to look on me of all people. There were nine of us in this room. Nine people plus the one other Keeper that was still alive to watch over and protect the amulet. To me, that seemed like a small number… I kept forgetting that five out of the nine were Reavers, and two were Witches. Reavers alone had a span of abilities that made it near impossible for

Chapter 42I saw Nico light up when Rowen mentioned finding a way around the pet laws. I knew he wanted to find a way around it. He had been infatuated with Amethyst since he met her. Anyone with eyes could have seen that coming. But the pet laws were so strict, I couldn't imagine there would actually be a way around it. Could there be? Rowen wouldn’t really want to marry me, he was just joking around with his brothers. Right? The thought made my stomach fill with butterflies. I was torn from my thoughts when the subject was changed, and the brothers were at it again, bickering and talking about the random times they almost got each other killed. Their stories distracted me from my previous turmoil. Come to find out, Raphael was responsible for the decimation of almost the entire Necromancer race. To make it worse, he didn’t even let anyone in on the situation until it was too late. By the time they were called to help, it was straight into battle. What a card. Raziel seemed to b

Glass shattered as they fell and skid across the floor in all directions. I then took one in a green fireball and snapped his neck, tossing his body aside. He wouldn’t actually die unless I decapitated him. He would wake up, but it wouldn’t be for a few hours. The other two were unconscious on the floor so I left them there and proceeded to use magic to pick up my dining table and slam it into the next two Vampire Hybrids that walked through my kitchen door. The act shattered my table, sending wood splinters flying through the air and into the walls. Then I heard chanting in Latin. I turned to see two Vampires raising the dead. “Fucking Necromancer Hybrids?” I snarled to Viper. “What in the fuck are The Others doing?” Viper hissed. “That is a good fucking question.” I huffed as I snapped t

Chapter 44(Ambrosia)I became aware of my surroundings slowly. But when the memories of last night started to come back through my mind, I tried to act like I wasn’t awake yet. I wanted to feel out where I had been taken, before I just announced to the world that I was awake. I kept my eyes shut and just listened, trying to keep my breath as calm and slow as it had been. I wasn’t sure if there were Vampires here, and they would hear my heart beating faster if I started to panic. It felt like I was lying in a bed of some sort. I could feel covers over my torso and I was at a comfortable temperature. So that was a good thing, right? I noted the smell of something cooking. I had no idea what it was. Something I had never smelt before, but it smelled like It would be good if I were to eat it. My stomach grumbled just then and gave away my position. I tried not to panic but I couldn’t help it. My heart rate spiked and a soft voice infiltrated my ears. “Ah, good, you’re awake. I was wo

Chapter 45Ramses came back soon after letting me know he checked on Katrina and Jade. They were both asleep and he didn’t bother waking them. He would bring them over in the morning. He then proceeded to pace next to me. “Talk to me brother, think out loud. Let’s work on this together.” He said. Ramses was always my closest brother. We just got along so well, and he understood me on a lot of levels, it felt like. Not that my other brothers didn’t, but I was just never as close with them as I was Ramses. I could relate to all of them though. I had my fair share of cool and calculated moments like Raphael, or my unyielding fiery moments like Raziel. I could be a jokester and life of the party like Ramses, or I could be quiet and reserved, hidden in the background, more like myself. The way that I was, was really dependent on the moment. Right now, I was fiery and unyielding on the inside, yet quiet and reserved on the outside. A fitting set of emotions for what I’m going through. Ma

Chapter 46“Come sit down, child.” The older woman said, motioning at an empty spot on the couch next to the dark haired man. I reluctantly walked over and I could feel his eyes, well, both of theirs, trained straight onto me. I just tried to ignore it. I had no idea what type of creatures they were, but honestly, I was afraid. The second I took my seat an intense feeling of doom settled into my chest and stomach. I was used to feeling fear around supernatural creatures. I was Human, it was normal for me. But this was so much worse, so much more intense. I knew he could tell I was afraid by the way I was acting. I was trying to keep my cool but It was exceedingly difficult. Neither of the angelic men said a word to me at first. They kept their eyes trained on me though, as if I was going to do something crazy. “You’re a pet?” The dark haired one finally said, breaking the awkward silence. My hand went straight to my collar that I just now noticed was still on. They never removed i

Chapter 47 I had no idea when I dozed off, but thankfully I didn’t dream at all. I have no idea how long I slept, but when I woke up I was curled up next to Dominik. He had his arms around me and his head was resting on top of my head. We were in the same position we ended the night in with our feet on the footrest. It took me a moment to register where I was and what I was doing before I suddenly realized and moved out of his grasp. I didn’t say anything to him, but he started laughing when he woke up and realized what was going on. “You don’t have to run away, I don’t bite.” He cackled. I just laughed. Ok, so he wasn’t mad. How did we fall asleep like that anyways? At least I got some sleep… That was all I could think of. I could smell breakfast cooking and realized that we were the last ones to be awake. My cheeks turned red when I realized that everyone in the house had to have seen us this morning because they had to pass through the living room to get to the kitchen. No

Chapter 48(Rowen)The Vampires were of help, they did let us know the location they planned to take Ambrosia, which was different from the warehouse location we had already gotten out of them. We sent our armies to infiltrate both locations and came up empty handed. Ambrosia was not located at either of the locations, but we did manage to take out some more of The Others. Luckily, we were able to get some of the other plans they had stored away as well. Apparently, their operation was a lot bigger and deeper seeded than we expected. They had a lot more plans than just opening Pandora’s Box. These guys were like one of those damn cults on crack. They have locations scattered throughout Rome, and even in the states. It’s insane how deep their seeds go. It had been 12 days, and we hadn’t gotten an inkling as to where Ambrosia could be. I knew she was alive, I could feel her presence anytime I tried to materialize to her, but she was just out of reach. It was the strangest thing. “Br

Chapter 51“I-I didn’t know!” I shouted, trying to convince them. “It makes sense now, it’s how you have magic. It’s why no one has come looking for you. They can’t get in here when you have the only key that opens this Box.” Andres said. The playful, boyish tone he once carried was completely gone from his voice. Rather than sounding like a 19 year old boy, he had the husky voice and powerful tone of someone who had lived a millennia. I instantly panicked. I had to try and play this off or I was going to be killed right here, right now. “I don’t have a fucking amulet, you would have seen it on me by now if I had it! I’ve been here for months!” I huffed, trying to defend myself, but not sound too guilty. They didn’t need to know that it was cloaked in magic, that could stay a secret. But I wouldn’t be lying if they searched me because they would never find it. I looked at Dominik, his face was hard and unyielding. It reminded me of when I first came here, the look he gave me when I

Chapter 50I tuned back to the conversation that Dominik was having with his brother Andres. We were in town getting an array of items on the shopping list for Hilda, and it was taking quite a while. We had to go to like five stores and collect a plethora of items from each one. This list was at least triple the size of that list Dominik and I had gotten last time. That's why all three of us went, it was going to be a while. I don’t even know what they were arguing about, but they started punching each other and I just laughed because I was totally confused. These two did not act like they were both millennia or more old Angels. They acted like kids my age, and I got a crack out of it every time I noticed it. How can someone so old, still seem so young? Well, two people at that? It was insane. Once they were done punching each other they called a truce and we entered the next store. Once we got everything we needed it was finally time to be done. We started heading back to the hous

They continued chanting and a green light appeared above them for a split second and then it was gone. But it sent an energy blast that flung books off the shelves in my library. It also knocked the three Witches back, breaking the circle and stopping the chanting. Katrina looked up at me from the floor. “I’m sorry, Rowen. It didn’t work. The amulet isn’t reachable by magic.” She said. I sighed out loud. “What do we do now?” I asked, eager to get any reply that would bring Ambrosia home. “I-I don’t know… Wait!” Katrina cried. My eyes shot up to Katrina, waiting for her to talk. “Give me something sharp, I need to cut myself.” She said, holding her hand out. I raised an eyebrow at her, but did as she asked and snapped to produce a very sharp but dainty knife, and handed it to her. “Shadows, I summo
