- Azriel -
Chasing Lucifer had exhausted many of the angel troops. Azriel expected difficulties with Lucifer and thought of every sacrifice as necessary.
'Killing our kind is a specialty of yours. Soon though, soon you'll feel the same despair we did.'
Azriel had setup plans with Cytus prior. He knew the parasite would attempt to go after Lucifer directly, so he made sure to correct the potential mistake.
"Go to the highest roof you can. You'll be more useful as a sniper." Azriel had said to Cytus.
Lucifer had clearly taken a clean hit from Azriel. Azriel had expected it to at least slow his brother down, but was surprised and annoyed at the quick recovery he saw.
'How? That attack should have cut deeply enough to inflict significant pain. How are you still flying?'
Azriel had left Amahar and Yukina to deal with the rest of Lucifer's grou
- Lucifer -Lucifer had seen Peter's and Heinrich's attacks. He was still dodging a majority of the army's attacks. Flying around stone spikes that would shoot from the ground, to air-rolling and evading Azriel's bombardment. He was calm. Not out of confidence, perhaps the opposite. He could feel his chances of living getting slimmer and slimmer. As the feeling got stronger he felt his senses sharpen. He had trained everyday he could. He never took peace for granted. His past was full of him torturting himself and fighting stronger opponents so he would be ready for moments like these. His subconscious only allowed one thought at a time.'Remove Cytus from his position.' Was the current thought. He channeled multiple orbs in his hand, creating a cluster. He flew directly up, towards Azriel.Azriel, surprised, sent dozens of wind blades down at him. Lucifer ca
- Death and Amaterasu -Death had been grabbed and transported miles away from the current battle that Lucifer and his group were in. He was released by Odoroku the moment the two came up from the shadowy puddle.Death didn't hesitate entering his true form. He swung his scythe at Odoroku, who disappeared into a puddle once more, before reappearing next to Amaterasu, who was in her woman-form, and a winged swordsman with a long nose. The area Death had been brought to was an open space of dirt. It was effectively an empty plain with nothing in it.Death's robe tightened around his body, turning black. He saw the three enemies before him and shouted."Only three?!" His low voice echoed with his shout."It's all it will take." Amaterasu sneered. She was lying. The truth of the situation was she had a difficult time finding powerful allies f
- Death and Amaterasu -Death's hand reaching for Amaterasu made her life flash before her eyes. A thousand of Tsukuyomi's sayings. Her countless pranks she had pulled on Susanoo. All of it appeared like a blur. She snapped back to reality and attempted to fly away.Azriel's twister appeared, grabbing Death's attention for a split second. Amaterasu used the chance to gain some more distance, hoping it was enough. She wasn't sure if Death could continue his blinking in midair. He could. In an instant he wrapped his hand around her face and gripped so tightly she thought her head might explode. She transformed back into a wolf as they both fell to the ground.Death's grip was released briefly until he grabbed the fur around Amaterasu's neck. The two slammed into the black ground. Amaterasu thrashed, doing everything she could to get Death off of her. He was knocked away by her legs, ripping off tufts o
- Lucifer, Cytus, and Azriel -The blue flames around Lucifer's arms were burning his skin. Cytus was in front of him, and Azriel behind. He pointed his palms at Cytus and fired the flames from his arms in a concentrated blast.Cytus thought the attack was weirdly slow. He easily dodged out of the way, readying himself to push forward. Before he decided to step-in a thought came to mind.'Any part of me he touches with those blue flames will turn to ash.' The thought stopped him from moving.Lucifer glanced at his singed arms. He hoped his plan has worked.'He should be less likely to attack if he thinks I can keep summoning those blue flames. Either he leaves his boosted form, or he just sits there and burns mana.'Lucifer welcomed the momentary reprieve. He still had to worry about Azriel's twister ripping him apart, but for now he at least had some time to
- The group -Peter was dashing around, trying to get as many kills with his remaining seconds. The scared and hesitant enemies that remained were easy prey.Peter's was holding his breath the entire time. He knew the moment his timer was up he would collapse. If his outward expression showed how his body felt internally no one would be afraid of him. While Peter was ripping through her allies, Yukina was charging towards the other five. Her mana reserves were getting low, so she decided to get closer before using anymore magic. She was confident she could finish off four humans, and a half vampire with just her sword.Sabu was watching Yukina approach. He still had mana to spare and would make sure to finish what Peter started. He rushed towards Yukina, knives in both hands, and threw them while boosting their speed with wind.Yukina intercepted the attack by swiping the knives
- Yvere and Death -Once all the enemies were confirmed dead or gone Death turned back into his usual form. His body was riddled with third degree burns and his robe was more burnt holes than cloth.Yvere rushed to help, but Death stopped her."I'm at no risk of dying. Help your team first."Sabu and Elijah had recieved minor healing from Yvere. She wanted to restore them completely but they both argued that Lucifer would probably need more attention than both of them. She felt frustrated that everyone seemed to deny her help. She knew why, but she couldn't stand watching everyone, covered in injures, act tough.'Maybe it's an age thing. Then again, Elijah's younger than me.'After all of that was sorted, Death and the others went to where Lucifer had crawled under the rubble. Yvere was carrying Lao, while Death carried Peter, and Heinrich carried Mira. As th
- Lucifer -"Is that everyone?" Lucifer asked Mira."Yes. I swear. Please...leave them be. They aren't problems for you." Mira's voice was shaking.Lucifer sighed and looked around at everyone."You know that's not true. As much as we both wish things were peaceful, our kind is vindictive." Lucifer's eye were melancholic. I have no plans to march into Heaven looking to collect heads."Lucifer looked over at Elijah."Hand me the dagger."Mira flinched. She knew this was it.Elijah handed the dagger to Lucifer."Catch." Lucifer told Mira, tossing the dagger to her.Mira didn't understand what he was doing."You attempted to kill me and my team. Under normal circumstances I would just slit your throat myself, but this is a more severe situation."
- Sabu -"Back in my past life, when I was still a child, I was an orphan who lived with other orphans."Elijah, despite how crowded his thoughts were, made a point to listen. He leaned in as Sabu spoke."We were not being raised in an orphanage by some kind owner. We were being raised for a future of killing. Beatings, food denial, and practicing the most efficient ways to kill a target. That was our daily lives." As Sabu got deeper into his past his expression would stiffen."There was a week, maybe two, where we had gone without food entirely. Certain parts of the memory are hazy. The faces of the other children, the time, even what I looked like, but there is one part that has stayed clear in my mind."Sabu began rubbing his arm slowly."We had been told that the end of our fast would be a special day. None of us believed it to be anything good. We had be
- Elijah and Lao -(After Death called Satan)Lao, Heinrich, Yvere, Sabu, and Elijah were heading towards Bolotano with everyone else."You don't have to fight," Lao said."Why are you telling me this?" Elijah sighed. "I know, but I have a feeling there won't be an actual choice.""I wanted to thank you, for Sol." Lao looked at the ground. "And...say that I'm sorry for how I've come across.""You're fine." Elijah shrugged. "I don't mean any offense by this; we're not friends. We've practically just met and you clearly have a lot to deal with on average.""I...I, sorry." Lao stopped.Elijah knew what Lao was trying to do. He hated the situation he was in, leading to him forgetting about the rest of the team's problems. He had the least to lose among all of them, and yet he was acting as if he had it the worst.&
- Moloch and Baal -(After Lucifer sent the group back to Hell)Moloch and Baal were discussing over an echo call about their alliance with Satan."Can we really trust him?" Moloch asked, stroking his beard."Bit late to question it now?" Baal grunted. "We could win without his help, so I'm not overly invested in his strength.""Mmmmm." Moloch hummed. "Don't you think the timing is strange?""His timing is always strange." Baal laughed. "Why are you so concerned about this?"Moloch paused. He was worried about himself more than anything. He had questioned his alliance with even Baal in the past, so this trepidation was nothing new."We lost the Underground," Moloch growled. "I don't like the way things are going.""Like I said-" Baal sighed. "-bit late to question it now."'Is
- Lucifer and Kahvis -Lucifer and Kahvis were on their own at the front of the right army, with Death being alone on the left. The two were channeling magic as they walked, Lucifer's arms were covered in explosive orbs, and Kahvis was holding two orbs of electricity. Kahvis had switched to a black shirt with three linked blue circles on the back, with black pants. The two were walking through the destroyed headquarters. Kahvis looked around at the area, confused by what happened."I don't have time to explain." Lucifer said."It doesn't matter." Kahvis responded. The two kept moving forward. They were meant to spearhead the demon armies along with Death. They would need to deal massive damage first, or the resistance's army would simply be overwhelmed. It didn't help that the average demon soldier is stronger than the average human. The odds of the battle went through Lucifer's mind one last time be
- Satan, Moloch, Baal -(Morning after last chapter)"Like I told you before, you need to start your attack now." Satan said into the echo. "If you don't keep them from digging deeper in Bolotano we won't win this.""You care about winning and yet you sent a messenger to them!" Moloch spat."I want a proper battle-" Satan's voice started to sound like a mix of anger and excitement. "-not some facade of one. You're lucky you have my help, now don't waste it.""Can you at least tell us how long it will take for your forces to pincer them?" Baal asked."No...too easy." Satan said with a smile. "Who knows, maybe you'll win without me? Wouldn't that be something?" Satan leaned away and whispered. "Though I wouldn't bet on it...""Once this is all over we should come to your side of the world and return the favor." Baal said.
- Saint, Death, Lucifer -Lucifer wanted to help Saint, but he was scared that he might draw Death's aggression. He thought it would be better if he waited and only stepped in if it seemed like Saint was about to lose.Death rapidly blinked to Saint. He was on her in a moment, gripping his hand around her throat and lifting her off the ground. He was readying to slam her down when he felt both her feet kicking into him. The blow was strong enough to send him back once more. What followed looked like a white light crashing against a shadow. Death had strength and speed, Saint had technique. Their fight started to destroy the resistance's evacuated headquarters, causing the sound of breaking stone to fill the air.Death grabbed Saint's arm and threw her through multiple huts. He appeared above her, attempting to stomp her face. She dodged the attack and struck Death's smoke hidden face. She exchanged b
- Lucifer -Lucifer had stayed in the hut long after Death left. He had been staring at the board endlessly, to the point that he could see images of it when he blinked. The scenarios he had run through in his head had pervaded all of his other thoughts. Even thinking about the five traveling to Heliopolis would be interrupted by a connecting thought of how he would deal with their respective magics. These thoughts combined with the fact that he was in two minds about having Peter stay around made it difficult for him to think about much else. He trusted Peter's strength, but couldn't help picturing him die. The true risk of this war had set in. It wasn't that he had thought things would go perfectly fine, and everyone would get a happy ending, just that he had confidence from his prior victory in the Underground. He pictured Kahvis attending to the friends and loved ones of those who died in the raid, and wondered what
- Peter, Lao, David, Sabu, Moloch -"Now it's almost fair." Moloch smiled.Moloch lifted his hand up and made a circle in the air. Blood shot up from the ground and begun spinning violently. Moloch sustained the velocity of the vortex with one hand while using the other to explode the insides of the stone pillar David and Sabu were on.Lao rushed towards Moloch. Moloch flicked his hand toward Lao, causing blood spikes to shoot up from the ground. Lao jumped over the attack and kept moving.Lao sent a quick right punch speed towards Moloch. His fist connected with Moloch's smiling face.Moloch quickly opened his hand. Blood spikes shot from his cloak into Lao. He was overjoyed in what he thought was a victory, until he saw the reborn's face.Lao had blocked his head and heart from receiving hits. He was still deeply wounded, but he wasn't done moving. His left
- Lucifer and David -(Before the main story)"I'm telling you to be more careful." Lucifer was warning David. "Double affinities don't make you invincible.""I can't afford to be more careful." David said.David was 5"9'. He had dark shaggy black hair that matched his scraggly beard. He had a slim frame that made him appear younger. He was wearing a black shirt and thick brown pants. His irises were a bright yellow color."I'm telling you this because I don't want you dragging Peter into making bad decisions." Lucifer sighed. The two were approached by a reborn woman."You two ready?" Emily asked."Hopefully." Lucifer said in David's direction.Emily was a shorter woman, standing 5"5'. Her brown hair was crew cut, and her face seemed to be permanently scrunched. She was wearing a green cloak and
- Death and Oliver -"You okay sir?" Oliver said from afar to Death."I'll be fine." Death mumbled.Oliver didn't have much interaction with Death before their meeting in Passage. He was secretly excited to get the chance to speak with him. He was going to ask if he could practice with him until he saw Death's training. It was different, it seemed more purposeful, as though he was imagining someone as he swung the scythe.'Can't imagine practicing with that.' Oliver scratched the back of his head.Death was trying to quiet everything around him. What mattered to him now was staying focused. He couldn't practice his riding with Hrom so he was stuck with just weapon and image training. So long as he kept his eyes closed he wouldn't see the eyes of the crowd and most of them wouldn't dare say anything if they thought he could hear them.Oliver was looking around
