Chapter 31: Complications

Millicent's POV

I left Christopher standing there after that devastating kiss we shared. I had wanted to go up to my quarters but I needed time alone to clear my head, so I went for a walk to my favourite place. My best place in the world when I was still serving as a maid in this pack. The stream. This time I was not going for a dip in the water but to watch the water and get some semblance of peace.
