Third Person POVSamantha had sent message across to Millicent of her intended visit and Millicent had been expecting her. She came and a maid was sent to call her, but there was no response. The maid, opened the door and looked in but could not see anyone and went downstairs.'She isn't in her room and I don't know where she has gone to', she told Samantha. 'But she must be close by because I saw her go upstairs with Cathania'.'With Cathania?' Samantha asked unbelievingly. The maid nodded. But before she could say more, Christopher came barging in, clutching his chest and panting. 'Where's Millicent?' She's in trouble. I can feel it here', he said in a hurried voice, indicating his chest, which he had been clutching.Samantha had also sensed that something was not right especially when she heard that Millicent had gone upstairs with Cathania.'Where's Millicent?' Sylvester who hurried in said, out of breath. 'I need to see Millicent, now!'No one answered as they all rushed upstair
Millicent was unconscious for weeks. Barely responding to treatment, during which time, no one heard from Cathania. Anytime, the Alphas Sylvester and Christopher could tear themselves away from matters of the pack, they came and stayed with her, and it was often. Whenever they visited, they had a word or two to say to Millicent in her unconscious state.'Millicent, surely, you do not want to forego the dreams you've had since your youth?' Christopher would ask. 'I have not told you my dreams but it is just because we have not really had the time to speak much', he laughed in self mockery, remembering that the times they had been together, they had done more of feeling, being consumed by the awesome chemistry they shared - their strong mate bond.'My dream has always been to make the woman I love, my Luna', Christopher continued. 'For a long time, I could not love anyone. Not that I've not had my own share of female companions, but they hadn't really meant much to me till I met you. Y
Cathania had returned to her pack, scared that she would be found out. Her father had asked her how Alpha Sylvester was and the plans they were making about their marriage and she had given him vague answers and asked to be alone. Her father who had spoiled her silly, left the room so she could have her privacy. When she did not hear anything connecting her to the condition of Millicent, and her informant in the Moon Ville Pack gave her news that gratified her her heart, she felt easier.'It is not possible that Millicent will survive, the doctor said so himself', the informant told her. ' He's sure she is on her death bed. He is just treating her to save his own skin from the wrath of both Alphas and make them happy'.After the news she just heard, she rested assured that Millicent would take the knowledge of her murderer to her grave. But when she did not hear from Alpha Sylvester, she decided to come visit.'Alpha, you are a marvel. You have not been in contact with the woman you a
Millicent's POVI found myself in a dark void, falling into a bottomless pit. Suddenly, I heard someone weeping, telling me to fight the darkness surrounding me. He sounded so much like Alpha Christopher. He was telling me of dreams I was yet to fulfill. His voice was so sad, I tried to pull myself out of the mist surrounding me but I just couldn't. I struggled, wanting to get out of the dark mist, and console him, tell him I was okay but I couldn't.Then all of a sudden, I was standing in a holo of light. The brightness was blinding. There were trees of various colours and beautiful flowers of various kind everywhere, I could hear voices speaking, I looked around but there seemed to be nobody about.Christopher kept telling me of his love for me and how he could not live without me. He sounded so sad and lonely that I felt bad for him. 'Millicent, Millicent, come back to me!' he sobbed.Alot of voices spoke to me. I even fancied I heard Alpha Sylvester confessing his feelings to me.
When we got home, I realised that Samantha had actually gone home, not just to do the laundry and have a change of clothes but to clean up my room, so that it would smell fresh and look welcoming when I got home. There were flowers everywhere, most of them, Sundrops, lilies and roses.'Samantha, thanks so much for this', I smiled at her.'Alpha Sylvester made this possible. We got these flowers from his garden', Samantha whispered to me. 'Really?' I whispered, shocked. Was this not the same garden he didn't want anyone entering? My close shove with death must have made him feel very guilty especially since it was his love that brought it on and he just wanted to relieve his conscience.'Yes', Samantha was saying. 'Alpha Christopher asked that we go to the florist and get the best flowers to decorate your room and the entire palace for the special occasion of your homecoming but Alpha Sylvester forestalled and asked us to take them from his garden and make sure we make the whole place
The party was in full swing when we descended the stairs. I had a simple but elegant dress on and even if I say so myself, it flattered me, emphasizing my shape and highlighting my bust line and colour.Christopher kept looking at me with his mouth agape and Sylvester was no better as I could see the admiration in his eyes. To my chagrin, both of them rose to their feet and didn't stop there but came forward to walk me to my seat.'Oh, my God!' Samantha whispered. 'This is so flattering, being fawned over by two hunks. And very tempting too, why settle for one when you can have two of the best? I am already very wet and wanting.''You have totally lost it, Samantha', I said as I felt my face heat up at her words. I pasted a smile on my face for the benefit of anyone staring.Samantha chuckled and left my side as both Alphas took each of my arms in theirs. The jubilation was ceased till we were seated. Then the noise started again.'Hope you had enough rest?' Alpha Sylvester asked. 'Y
Samantha led me back into my room afterwards. Both Sylvester and Christopher had volunteered but I didn't want them starting a war over me. Not this night anyway. So I told them I'd rather Samantha led me back since I had a lot to discuss with her.I had wanted to talk to Samantha about her husband but immediately I got in and she helped me take off my dress, giving me my pills and a glass of water with which I swallowed them, I fell flat on my bed and slept. I woke in the early hours of the morning, and found that Samantha was lying on the couch. I sprang to my feet but had to lye back again, holding my head. I had a headache and the sudden movement had made me feel it keenly for a moment.'What is it?' Samantha asked, coming to the bed to hold me and feel my temperature. I did not know she had woken. My sudden movement must have alerted her to my wakefulness. She had always been a light sleeper.'Nothing. Just a slight pain in the head brought on by my sudden movement!' I explained
Samantha's whimpering reduced till it stopped totally.'You are really incredible, do you know that?' I asked, filled with genuine admiration for her 'How so?' she asked wiping her eyes, and sneezing into the handkerchief I pulled from my bed drawer and gave to her.'You were suffering such pain and you gave nobody any indication of what you had been through? You went about smiling and trying to make me feel happy and well', I said.'But you are also, incredible', she said smiling at me tremulously. 'You endured what you did from a very young age, and didn't even let on'.'I have apologised, Samantha', I said, sorrowfully.'I'm not complaining. Far from it! I'm just stating a fact', she said 'Which is?' I asked, sceptically.'That we're one of a kind. We are brave and woe betide anyone who messes with us!' she said, with an attempt at a joke and we both burst out laughing, hugging and crying all at the same time.'Okay, enough about me and sad tales', she said wiping her eyes again.
