Miscarriage

Five minutes have passed since Nymphis left the anxious Lucien alone in the living room. It’s been five minutes that the man had been feeling his hands and feet sweat in nervousness. He could feel all the liquid he took last night travelled from his stomach to his throat. He didn’t even mind that he hadn’t taken any solid food yet.

He anxiously waited for the woman to arrived and when he heard the sound of an engine slowly dying down, Lucien stood up as he could feel his hands getting colder. All the preparation and monologue he had been preparing while making himself look presentable seems to disappear like a bubble. He couldn’t remember a single word he thought.

The sound of a heels clakcing against the tiled floor gets louder and closer. Lucien couldn’t do anything but get frozen on his feet as his heartbeat punds faster and louder like a drum- getting on the exciting part of the festival.
