It's my first time writing a dark fantasy trope and my writing style is a bit different from what I used to do so the story seems a bit different. Also if you're enjoying this story please do vote and comment.!Thank you!
“Jewel, we found nothing in the palace. Your sister must have been move somewhere else.” Elaine said in a ragged breath as she flicked away the sweat on her face. Jeulle shoved off the demon in front of her as she pulled off the sword from its gut. She then turned her head towards the elf and said in amicable tone. “Gather everyone. We’ll head in to confront the Demon Lord.” “But-“ Elaine said hesitantly as she reached out her hand to her. “Just do as I say!” Jeulle yelled not letting her refute at all. The soldiers finally gather around and disperse to fetch the others. Jeulle stared at Elaine who was now looking at her with full of worries. This girl, she really worry too much. “Don’t worry, I’m not gonna die yet.” She reassured her with a gentle smile. The two then leapt towards the innermost hall as the res curtain swing gently around the whole room. ‘A bridal chamber?’ Jeulle wrinkled her brows as she walked inside the room with hint of doubt and bad premonition in her hea
Hellion tilted her head as she intently stared at the innkeeper. Her gaze fixated on that pointy ears perking out of her head. It’s moving! Hellion’s eyes beamed and reach out her hand aiming to touch the rabbit lady’s ears. The rabbit sensed her intention and frighteningly back off. Hellion stared at her anxious face. Eh? “D-d-dear Costumer, W-what can I help you with?” The rabbit anxiously asked her as she pulled her ears down. Hellion blinked her eyes and said. “ Can I touch those?” She pointed her finger on her ears expectantly. The rabbit shook her head and drilled herself on the wall. Hellion retracted her arm, disappointed. Xegris then appeared behind him and glanced at the trembling rabbit lady. He sneered at Hellion and then pulled his attention towards the innkeeper. “We’d like to check out.” He said
The room was intricately decorates with a crystal ceiling, a soft cushion seat and a luxurious tea table between the elegant couches. Kieffer put down the cup on the table as he look at the people lazily leaning on his seat. “How is she?” Kieffer asked as he crossed his arms. Xegris just smiled at him and didn’t speak. He then sat up straight and pour himself a cup. Kieffer silently stared at him and just sighed. “You didn’t torture her that much right?” Kieffer then glanced at him and took a sip on his cup. Xegris chuckled and simply said. “She merely thinks I’m the one who saved her. Funny isn’t it?” Kieffer paused as he looked at him with doubt and raised his brow. “How come?” “I just killed the pest.” “Oh.” Well it’s best if she thinks that way. It would be easier. Kieffer thought then leaned back
The faint creaks of wood and the often cacophony of the water trickling as she paddle away in silence was the only noise Hellion could hear. Xegris was still deep asleep and she’s been rowing the both for how many nights now. It was their fourth day being castaway in the vast ocean. Hellion survived eating those raw fish she painstakingly tried to catch with her own hands while Xegris only sleep like the dead on the boat’s cabin. He never woken up even once as if he was extremely exhausted. She was doing all the work so how come he’s that tired! He’s not even moving an inch! Hellion would casually glare at him and sometimes smack his navel with the paddle but so far he’d only glare back and go back to sleep looking all helpless and pale. She even thought that Xegris must be seasick but he only sneered at her and stubbornly said he’s not. Hellion just snorted and believed that it was the case.
“Where is this?” Hellion asked as she glance over the dead trees on their way. The tree trunk was dark and withered, there’s no leaves on the branches as if the whole forest was cursed with drought. Hellion silently followed the man in front of him and decide not to say another word. It must be like the last time they travel across a forest and got attacked by wolves. She herself, knew she don’t want to experience that again. And thus she followed him quietly. They walked in the coarse soil as the ground was painted with cracks and footsteps can’t even be print to remember their tracks. Hellion felt bad, her face was sewn into a frown. Are they gonna hide here? This would be a perfect hiding spot as it was a barren land but surviving won’t be easy. She collapsed after a few days of not eating and what about the time they are to stay here without water or so?
They say magic was a power bestowed by the gods and the ones who wields the power had sacrifice something in return. The humans and the other race had unique abilities which they have possess since the first war against race. The werebeast gave up their will and became the strongest, humans give up the strength and became the smartest, demons give up their sanity and became merciless, sylphs give up their power and attain holiness and elves give up their judgement and became the finest. While the first war had ended demons won and dominate the world as they began to enslave the other race but no one was happy and satisfied with it.The gods were threatened by the prominent power of the demon race and chose candidates of each race to overpower the demons. They treat them like a plague and the second war had started by a blow of a horn. With the help of the God of Light, the four race suppressed the de
Hellion cautiously walked into the ruins. She’s been feeling a bit of an eerie atmosphere towards the place. There was nothing particular in her sight but she couldn’t help but feel as if she was being stared at. There were lot of eyes glued on her back and in her side as if waiting for an opportunity to jump at her.Hellion stomped her feet as the noise echoed towards the quiet place. She then took out her dagger and sighed. The enemy is just five meters away and they’re all hiding themselves in the debris.Hellion counted in her hands as she nonchalantly tossed away the nonsensical book in her arms. Never mind the charm of it bringing her to a dangerous place. As long as she get rid of it sooner then she’ll be fine.Hellion glanced at the cursed book and kicked it away from her making the one hiding nearby jolted. Hellion sensed it moving away as she playfully stroke the dagger into sharpness. T
“Urk”Hellion spat out blood as the back of the blade hit her stomach. She took a staggering step back and glanced up to the two demons who were swirling their knife towards her.She tilted her head and look at her dagger. It’s already worn out and the blade was already malformed because she cut the thick skin countless times. She gritted her teeth and wiped away the blood on her mouth as she tried to strike a fatal blow again. The two demons evade her as they retreat on the opposite side. Hellion squinted her eyes and look on her right as she managed to dodge the coming blade towards her neck however, the demon on the left side successfully cut through her leg slashing a long wound. Hellion shook as she felt unsteady. She retreat a few steps and leapt away from the two but as she landed her feet she felt the stinging pain of the cut. She darted her face towards them and pursed her
