Saville,

I’m sure that I am the last person that you want to hear from. But I am doing this because Catherine told me something that’s been quite bothering her. If I have a choice, let me tell you that the thought of sending you a correspondence is something that will never ever cross my mind. However, I had grown fond with her as time goes by and had found myself falling in love with her and I will do everything in my power to make her happy.

Conrad Langston.

He is our second grandchild and our first grandson. He is now seven years old, and Catherine for the past three years had been noting some traits in him that she told me the only person that she can think of who exhibited those traits are you.

Both of us could no longer deny it no matter how much I want to turn a blind eye on it.

Conrad is a Sigma Wolf.

When he turned five years old, Catherine told me that Conrad had somehow developed an independent and self-sufficient nature. That further proved her conclusion right when he wen

Conrad picked up his dagger again and practiced the moves that Alpha Jack had taught him for the past few days after taking a ten-minute break. He stopped when he mistook a step and started from the top again. It took him several attempts to perfect the move and when he did, he took a minute break and then do it all over again. He made a commitment to himself that he will not rest until he could be able to perfect all the moves and techniques that Alpha Jack had taught him. He will execute it flaswlessly. After the conversation he had with Amarah the other day, he went out from her villa with somehow the heavy load that he felt that he was carrying over his shoulders for a long time had finally been lifted off.Tears, to his embarrassment and surprise, fell from his eyes when she told him straightly what she had observed in him and remembered that he had hugged her so tightly after their conversation had ended several hours later.“You’ve been suppressing that, have you?” Amarah has

Three Weeks Later…Amarah walked behing Conrad quietly as he escorted her back to The Night Howlers Pack on Tuesday afternoon. She watched him walk ahead of her, his head turning from time to time for any encounter that they might run into. This was the day that Gabriel and Alpha Jack had told them. The day where Conrad will be heading back to war and exact his revenge slowly and silently at The Rebel Rogues. She had watched him carefully transformed and changed into somewhat a different man and wold over the course of their stay at The Moonstone Howlers pack. The talk she had with him had somehow ease a heavy burden off of his shoulders and she was silently thankful that she managed to get through to him. Even Magnus became tamed around her when Conrad had shown her and introduced to her his beloved wolf, Magnus. For the next few remaining weeks of their stay at the pack, when her uncle finally accepted the fact that Conrad is a Sigma like him, he took him under his wing and trained

Clayton, with his eyes still close, rolled onto his back and felt a hard and cold surface underneath him. He grimaced as he placed a hand on his forehead and grimly thought that he must have drunk himself again early in the day and have fallen asleep on the floor.Since Amarah’s disappearance and after coming back from The Rebel Rogues Pack, he would spend most of his day concentrating on his work to take his mind off her disappearance for a while. But the moment he would step inside his house, the emptiness would then sink in, and he would think of all the times he had spent with Amarah. That will then have sent him into a drinking stupor until he would fall asleep and would wake up the following day to work again. Most of the time, he would wake up in his office chair or on the living room couch since he refused staying on his bed. Lying down would only make him think of all the times he and Amarah had made love to each other on his bed.Weekends seemed to be the worst for him, but

Amarah watched as Clayton walked towards his room, his shoulders slightly slumped when they finally arrived back home in the late evening after spending time in his parents’ house. She spent most of her time, talking with his father, convincing him to let Conrad be the wolf that he is meant to be.However, during that time she had noticed that Clayton became quiet and had somehow withdrawn himself from the conversation. She silently knew his reasons and she told herself that she will talk to him when they will be alone. She followed him towards the room and saw him sitting on the floor and looked to be holding a photo frame in his hands and looking down at the picture intently. He seemed to be oblivious of her presence inside the room.“Even at this time, you’re still ahead of me, aren’t you, Con?” He muttered.Amarah finally decided to sit beside him on the floor and placed a hand on his arm. She smiled at him when he turned to look down at her. Taking the frame from his hands, she l

Clayton looked towards the open grounds the following day as he watched intently his pack warriors where half of them is doing some combat practice while the others are either practicing with a bow and arrow, a sword or dagger and some lances.Jacob and Bradley are within the grounds, giving instructions to the warriors or calling out men, who made errors on their moves. Most of the time, they would then immediately show the correct execution and then will let the member repeat it until they are satisfied.Liam stood beside Clayton and looked towards the grounds.“I think they’re ready,” he commented to him seriously.Clayton nodded.“Our warriors had always been ready,” he corrected confidently. “However, we cannot underestimate Fullerton’s capacity as well. He’s been previously known in this pack as one of the best warriors. Even dad could not easily defeat him when he raided us here before.”“We have to take note those things we heard about him,” he continued as they walked back to

Amarah looked up when she heard a long howl in the air late in the afternoon. She placed her feet back on the ground and took a step, stopping when she heard another howl. She’s currently lounging down at her favorite spot under Clayton’s house, contemplating on the upcoming events. She stood still as she listened to the howling sound and her eyes suddenly filled with tears. Picking up her feet, she run up the steps hurriedly and proceeded towards the direction of the sound she heard. Finally stopping and catching her breath when she arrived in the open grounds, her eyes widened, and her mouth gape opened at the sight she is seeing in front of her eyes.Filling the grounds with pack members, Clayton stood in the center flanked by Liam, Bradley, and Jacob behind him. He hadn’t noticed her because he is looking intently towards the direction that all those present were doing as well.Amarah noticed that all of the pack members are clamoring to take a good look of the pack that just arri

Clayton sat back on his chair, watched, and listened as the four pack alphas famously known way back in the old times as The Quartermasters talked and argued over the strategies, they will be undertaking in eliminating the rogues and putting an end to them.He looked across the room and saw his father with Liam, Bradley and Jacob just looking at the four older alphas as well. By the expression on their faces, they are also doing their best to conceal their admiration and uneasiness as the four continued to argue. The only one who remained unaffected by the scene in front of them is Gabriel.Gabriel is sitting beside him, his hands clasped behind the back of his head and leaning against the wall. His eyes are close, and his mouth seemed to be having an amused smile as the four continued to exchange ideas and argued at the same time.“Trust me, boy, they’ll get to the final plan in a while,” Gabriel said calmly. “I have my share back in the days with their fathers and these four here ar

Amarah slightly opened her eyes when she felt Clayton moved beside her on the bed. She looked at her bedside table and saw the clock read four in the morning. Turning towards his direction, she saw him putting on his clothes and reaching for his armor. She immediately sat up, reaching for her robe. Clayton must have seen the look on her face because he dropped his armor back on the floor.“Go back to sleep, love,” Clayton insisted gently as he walked to her side and sat on the bed. He reached out and tucked some hair behind her ears. “Get some rest. Gabriel linked that he sighted the rogues on the move. It’ll be several more days, probably two for them to reach us here.”“Where are you going?” She asked, gripping his wrist.“We need to prepare,” he answered softly. “Now, don’t forget what I told you alright? Just go on with your day as if it’s normal. But when I will send out my alarm howl, head to the medical center. I’m sure you don’t want to stay here while there’s a battle going o

Three years later… Clayton watched anxiously as Amarah breathed in and out as she is clutching his hand tightly on a very early Thursday morning in their room, at his house. He watched as she closed her eyes and tried to control the pain that she is going through right now. “Oh, God, that’s worst,” Amarah finally stated. “You also said the last one was worst,” Clayton countered as he wiped the beads of perspiration on her forehead. “Are you just trying to pacify me? It’s not working, I’m telling you that.” “You’re the one who put this on me,” Amarah teased him with a smile. Clayton stared at her dumbfoundedly. “Amarah, if I knew that I will be going through this as well, I would have waited a little bit more before putting that child in you,” he argued lightly. “I am not ready to go through this process.” That earned a laugh from Matt, who is sitting on one side of the room and patiently monitoring Amarah’s condition. Clayton gave him a good glare. He turned back to his wife, w

She had clear and bright honey-gold eyes that are currently staring at her lovingly that goes perfectly well with her beautiful face. A long and pointed nose, round firm cheeks and full rosy lips. She is wearing a glittery silver floor length dress and there is something about her that made Amarah realized who she is staring at.“Oh my goodness!” Amarah exclaimed and she immediately got down on one knee on the floor and placed a fist on her heart. “My apologies for not recognizing you immediately, Goddess Selene.”“You did good, my child,” Selene said.Amarah raised her face towards her when the goddess cupped her chin. She smiled sadly. “I could have done more,” she answered softly. “But I guess I overexerted myself that

Clayton with thick tears in his eyes stood, clenching his fists tightly and watched as the fire slowly crawled up and make its way to Amarah, immediately surrounding her body. He breathed out heavily and felt his mother’s hand on his back, gently comforting him.I love you, my Amarah, he thought in his mind intently.Slowly, as if his own feet have their own brain, he took steps towards the platform until he is only a few feet away. His mother followed behind him and stayed behind his back as the heat being emitted from the fire increases. As the fire started to crawl over her body, he felt a strong gust of wind blowing at them. His mother hugged his arm and buried her face in his back until it subsided. He turned to make sure that she is okay before looking back at the fire.Another gust of wind strongly passed by and it passed directly through the fire.“What the heck -?!” He heard Gabriel from behind exclaimed. All of a sudden, out of nowhere, a strong and blinding light shot down

Gabriel, with his hands inside the pockets of his jacket stared down quietly and intently at Catherine’s tomb. His eyes wandered towards the words written on her white, marble epitaph and he gripped his fists tightly. “Life is not Forever. But LOVE is.” He glanced up a bit when he heard a howl in the air, signifying the end of the mourning period. For Amarah. Instead of the tradition’s usual five days of mourning, King Atticus had decreed that the observation of mourning for Amarah will be extended for two more days. This is because of the influx of wolves from all over the kingdom that wanted to pay their last respects to the Saville woman, who had unselfishly given her all to treat those who needed her help. And it has been seven days as well that Gabriel has been visiting his mate’s tomb and would just stand there for hours without saying anything. Gabriel heard some rustling behind and he raised his head up and waited. “Everyone’s starting to gather at the grounds,” Conrad i

He sat down on the chair by the bed and looked at her lovingly, his eyes red.“You… You look beautiful,” Clayton said achingly.“Thank you,” she whispered. She coughed lightly and then took a deep breath. “Matt said… Matt said that I’m going to be okay. He told me that I just needed to rest so I can recover all the strength that I had lost.”“You shouldn’t have worked hard,” Clayton only whispered.Amarah reached for his cheek with her other hand.“I-I’m sorry,” she apologized gently. “But I did w-what I needed to do. The pack members vacated the area, pulling away any injured warriors. They could hear Magnus growling and tearing the enemy apart and a few minutes later, several Gamma warriors had joined him.“Amarah!” Clayton yelled as he reached for the dagger, which he knew for sure has been dipped in Wolfsbane. “No! If they’re still alive, they will immediately eliminate them.”“Their actions just showed the cowardice in them,” Clayton barked angrily. He turned to his left and looked down at Conrad, leaning on a tree and panting heavily as Bradley and Jacob are tying up a clothing around his stomach. “We need to get you back home.”“I’m alright,” Conrad assured him as he finally stood up. He thumped Clayton on the back. “We need to make sure that those two are dead. We cannot be complacent.”“You were good out there,” Clayton commented seriously. “Seems your five years away from here seemed to have made your skills

Amarah opened her tired and heavy eyes when she heard a howl, more like a battle cry in the air. She immediately sat up straight and then stood up immediately when another sound came. She rushed out the office she occupied to rest for a while, her heart pounding.“What’s happening?!” She demanded loudly as she saw the wolves in the center that are strong enough to check, crowding towards the entrance of the building. She pushed her way in the crowd, her eyes straining to see what they are all looking at. “What’s going out there? Is it Clayton? Please don’t tell me it’s him!”When she finally made her way at front, she saw Matt together with Mr. and Mrs. Langston, several steps outside and looking towards one direction, his face grim. Something caught Amarah’s nose and she looked up to see dark, clouds of smoke filling the air as well as hues of dark yellow and orange.Dead bodies, she thought immediately as the sky turned more darker as the fire from afar is getting bigger and spreadi

He handed the weapon back to Clayton.“The Saville’s had broken their inner defense circle,” Liam mentioned to him as they both thwarted a pack of rogues lunging towards them. He spit on the dead body of one. “Bradley was sent to the center a few minutes ago to have the wound on his side tended.”The battle had spread out all over the land as Clayton’s allied packs took each rogue packs to different directions to weaken the defense.
