Sage
I sat on the academy lawn with Ash, Dakota, Kayda and Daisy eating lunch in the warm sun. The older half had vanished which was not unusual nowadays, while we all usually hung out alot there were days when they felt things were going on that we were too young for. It infuriated me but usually Rori would relent and tell me anyway. As we got older the age gap stretched and we found ourselves being protected by older siblings and friends more and more. It bothered me and Ash more then anyone as we grew up in the Palace with the twins, and Ben. we were the ones in-between the two groups as my half sister Kayda, Dakota and Daisy were a year younger then us but still apparently Rori, Ben, Eoin, Arthur, Amira and Morgan were out growing us a little. However Ash and my sister Kayda were together always totally inseparable trouble makers.I spotted Arthur suddenly appearing on the far end of the lawn using his siren call he called me luring me over to him no one else noticed as I drifted towards him unable to stop myself."you know I hate it when you do that." I said as he pulled me behind a tree and I shook off his eery merman call. The very power that traditionally lured Fishermen and fishing boats onto the rocks and to their deaths so it always filled me with dread."I'm sorry but needs must." he sighed. "I needed to just talk to you alone.""Then send me a text message I hate when you use that creepy siren merman lure thing." I muttered.Arthur looked pained and a little guilty before he replied"Okay next time I will text." he sighed. "look I need your help Sage." he began. He told me all he knew and I listened intently when he finished I mulled it over in my head."So basically you want me to use magic to open his locker and switch out the potion you think is in there?" I said as Arthur nodded."Yes so whatever happens tonight is on Rori's own free will and clarity.""Nothing will happen she likes Ben." I smiled. Arthur perked up slightly at this and appeared a little uneasy."Has she told you that?"I shook my head at the stupidity of it all"She doesn't have to Arthur I can tell by how she speaks to him and I know she always goes out of the way to provoke and poke the Bear in him. His possessive reaction and attention excites her." I told him. "Did you know." I eyed him suspiciously."Of course I knew a blind man would know." he scoffed."Does Ben know?" I asked wearily."Recent events suggest Ben does know." Arthur muttered."Fine." I sighed. "When are we doing this thievery?" I asked. Arthur smirked down at me."Free now little witch?" he asked."Okay let's go." I nodded."Okay you go first I'll met you at the locker room doors." Arthur whispered I looked at him surprised."It looks a little weird if we appear together from behind the bushes. People might talk" he smiled."You wish." I snapped tossing my purple hair over my shoulder and walking toward the sports complex.Arthur met me there a few minutes later and he went in first once he was sure it was empty I slipped in after him. Arthur was leaning against a locker with a small smile on his face as he watched me look around a little uneasy being somewhere I had never been before and somewhere if caught I would be in serious trouble for."You seem nervous little witch." Arthur teased. "Thought you were a rebel.""I'm fine." I said through gritted teeth. "lets just get this done Arthur and get out of here." I mumbled as he indicated the locker on his right. I looked at the locker code and concentrated on it with a wave of my hand it clicked open and Arthur and I peered inside slowly."You do it." I said to him. "I am not going to rummage through a boys gym locker the smell in here is enough." I muttered as Arthur stepped closer to the contents laughing, after a minute or two he pulled out a small vile and handed it to me."What is it he asked?" as I carefully opened the cork top and sniffed it."I smell Dill for its lulling and soothing properties, lavender and rosemary have love properties, deadly nightshade for numbing anaesthetic properties, a small amount of monkshood which is a wolf poision. There is other stuff but I am certain it's a potion to suppress her emotion, her wolf, numb her to be suggestive and submissive with a bit of a love potion in the mix." I said as surprise and fury crossed over me."Shit." Arthur muttered "Part of me thought Ben was wrong that Anthony was innocent and it was nothing."I sighed feeling pissed off myself Sir Anthony always seemed like a good guy but I guess the temptation of the Moon Goddesses blood in his heirs veins was too much to keep his basic human morals in check. He had just proven he wanted power and now we knew this he was a major liability."Can you replace it with a copy that's safe so he doesn't know yet?" Arthur asked."sure." I nodded as I waved my hand and a second vile appeared but it was empty, opening my back pack I placed water, a small bit of sage, rosemary and cinnamon in the vile giving it the same colour and herbal look as the original. Arthur held out his hand for the original but I pocketed it."I think it is best in my hands." I smiled as I gave him the fake and he put it back in Anthony's locker shutting it. We moved quickly to the door and Arthur poked his head out before he signalled me and we both moved away from the sports complex."Does Rori know?" I asked him and Arthur shook his head. "Should she not be told?"Arthur stopped and faced me"If she finds out Ben heard him she is less likely to believe it plus its a choice she needs to make for herself." he whispered. "Come on he smiled let's get a coffee we still have time." he added as I followed him to the coffee pod on the lawn.I sipped my ice latte in a comfortable silence with Arthur before he suddenly spoke."Why purple?" he asked gesturing to my purple hair."I like purple." I shrugged. "Why don't you like it?" I asked."I like you with your blonde hair." He admitted and I froze. "You never wear it blonde anymore. Why is that Sage?" he asked softly. I thought about it for a moment did I tell the truth or did I brush this off easily and say nothing to Arthur."When I was little I had my dad's brown hair but after my mother died and as the years passed as if by magic overnight I got her blonde hair. I can see in my Dad's eyes that even though he is happy now me looking like my mom Sasha hurts him. Queen Charlie too looks at me sadly when it's blonde so I colour it and their eyes stay light." I truthfully told him.Arthur looked pensive for a moment and the shrugged."That's part of life Sage. I think if you want to be blonde and be yourself then be blonde." he offered me a bite of his cookie and smirking I took it."Are you going to this party tonight?" Arthur asked. I shook my head and sighed"nope." I replied licking the cream off my straw absent mindedly as he spoke. "I wasn't invited to be fair I usually go with Rori but she apparently has a date who might now be the biggest asshole in the school." I replied."Do you want to go?" Arthur asked."Are you asking me?" I asked him a little surprised. He shrugged "Sure why not. We're friends right?" he added and I nodded."I got to go I have history. I'll pick you up tonight Blondie." he winked as I picked up a few strands of my purple hair looking at it pensively. I went to potions ironically and there I had the time to research what really was in the vile exactly but I was correct in what I had first thought it was indeed exactly as I had told Arthur it was. My heart sank there was no doubt Sir Anthony had a bad intention. I met Rori after class and we walked to the Palace with two gaurds as Eoin and Ben had basketball. When we entered her bedroom and she tossed her book bag on the floor kicking off her shoes I decided to ask her the question that was burning me."Are you looking forward to going out with Anthony tonight?" I asked as my friend became uncomfortable. She sat on her white sofa and I sat next to her."Not really." she sighed and I looked at her shocked."What I thought you liked him." I said. She was taking off her knee high socks when she paused."I did." she began. "I mean I do." she sighed. "Sage I kissed Ben." she relented."Excuse me." I gasped."Yes and it was more then once and amazing." She smiled clearly remembering it. "I wish I was going with Ben." she added softly."So why aren't you?" I asked."I said yes to to Anthony and he is my friend I don't want to hurt him." She said as she stood and put her stockings in her laundry basket. "I am just going to tell Anthony about me and Ben and then go to the party and hang out with everyone." She called as she entered her closet."I guess its a plan. I'll be there with Arthur he asked me at lunch." I called back and she appeared from her closet with an arm full of dresses."With Arthur?" She was so high pitched in her tone dogs would howl."Its just as friends." I swallowed. But I had lost her she was now back in her closet pulling dresses for me. Eventually after showering and putting on make up I was standing in a black leather mini skirt with an off the shoulder lace white tight top that left about an inch of my mid rift on show. On my feet were white converse as Rori pushed me down at her vanity table."Okay hair." she smiled as she brushed it."I'm just going to leave it down and......" I trailed off as I ran my hand over my hair removing the hair colour glamour spell and revealing my long natural white blonde hair."I love it." Rori approved as she stood back. She wore a white short sundress with a low cut front with little buttons and it was backless. It had small little green poka dots on it. On her feet was a pair of white ballet pumps. Her long red hair was curled but was pinned to fall over her left shoulder. She had a smoking eye make up and a soft lip gloss."Girls." King Emmett Rori's father knocked on our door I believe there is two young men downstairs waiting for you two. Rori opened the door and looked at us both as a smile played on his lips he pulled out his phone."photo because you girls look so amazing." he added."Dad." Rori groaned but we stepped closer to gather and posed."Bye dad.""wait rules." he called as we groaned again and turned."one, No ditching your assigned gaurds. Two, no drinking. Three, no drugs. Four, no magical mood enhancers. Five, no sex." He listed off at the mention of sex Rori yelled "Goodbye dad" and pushed me onto the lift.Rori. When I exited the lift and spotted Sir Anthony, I gave a nervous smile clutching my green cardigan and white purse. Eoin had joined Arthur as Sage walked to join them, it appeared that Ben wasn't going to drive there with them. "You look lovely." Sir Anthony approached and gave the required little curtsey. "Thanks." I smiled, taking his offered arm. Anthony drove me almost in an awkward silence to a lake house where the students were holding the party. It was someone's holiday home that they had taken over for the bash. The back lawn by the lake had a fire pit lit, and there were some kegs spread out. Some of the guys had gathered around a beer pong table and were already loudly cheering. Music blasted from speakers. "Let me grab you a drink?" Sir Anthony called over the noise as he walked away. I had instructed my Royal gaurd to stay out front, and I would call them if I needed them. They relented as the kids here were academy students and had all already been vetted. Anth
Ben. I stood under the shower and calmed Kane by assuring him Rori was safe and was now in our bed. I had told Eoin where I was taking her and informed him she was so drunk she had already passed out, but I would watch her and keep her safe. The word back was they had found Sir Anthony, and Eoin was on his way to explain it all to his father. I knew King Emmett was going to be so mad. I turned off the water and dried myself off, pulling on my boxer briefs and then a pair of basketball shorts that I had brought in with me. When I left the bathroom, I noticed Rori was awake and sitting up by her demeanor she still appeared drunk. You alright, Princess?" I asked as her eyes fixated on me and my naked chest, whilst I delighted at the lust now in her eyes it also scared me . Kneeling up, she moved towards me and then placed her hands on my shoulders, sending tingles down my body. "No." she mumbled as inwardly I groaned when she moved even closer. "I am not okay, Ben." she added. "I need
Rori. The re telling of the events with Sir Anthony was more stressful than the actual event. I began to sob, and I had begged my father to get Ben for me. I could see the range of emotions that passed through his eyes in that moment. The desperation to help his pup, the realisation I was growing up, the sadness I was no longer crying for him but another man and the one that baffled me most fear. My mother gave me a knowing smile and moved as soon as Ben entered. I didn't care who was there when I climbed into Ben lap and buried my head in his hard chest, breathing in the scent of marshmallows, maple syrup, and musky pine He played with my hair and I relaxed. I completed my explanation of the night before and at times could feel Kane's presence, but Ben kept him at bay. My own wolf swirled near the surface. "So this thing between you two?" My father sighed once the Elders had left."Dad." I mumbled, shifting uncomfortably on Ben's lap. "Do you two care to elaborate on last night now
Ben.I was surprised at how Rori being my mate had played out. whilst I knew the King would give us some ground rules, I never thought he would allow us to spend the night together. Even if it was only on weekends, it would help our animal side. Shifters being away from their mates could lead to them being out of control. I knew the King was fully aware of this, so he had in some ways been forced to accept us as mates. In fact, the King had been excusing my possessive mate like behaviour around his daughter for the past year. I did also know him and my father had been discussing this most of our lives since I had shifted super early and it was here in this very Palace, so it was always assumed it was because of my mate being nearby. Apparently in my toddler years I would pander to Rori's needs and would fight Eoin or James for making her cry so our parents had more then a hunch but as I grew I got better at concealing my adoration so it sowed a shred of doubt in their minds that maybe
RoriHis abrupt order went to my core and without thinking I stepped into the hot water as he pulled me to stradle his hard tighs, the wound on his shoulder was clearly healing now and whilst the skin was still open the bleeding had stopped. Some water sloshed over the tub sides onto the tiled floor. "I was so worried." I breathed as he reached up and played with the edging of my sports bra. "I know, baby, but I am fine." he smirked as he pulled my sports bra up and my ample breasts spilt out. Whilst I was petite like my mother, I was also well endowed thanks to my mothers goddess like genetics. I lifted my arms as he pulled it off over my head, tossing it across the room. His mouth found my nipples as his tongue swirled around one before teasing it with his teeth. I gasped and arched my back as he moved to the other breast. "So perfect." he murmured, and his hand now made its way to my shorts. He pushed his hand down the front of my gym shorts and into my knickers, finding my perf
Ben "I do have an idea." I smirked as she leaned in with interest and intrigue on her face. "I may have promised I wouldn't mark you until you were eighteen, but I am eighteen, and you made no such promise." I told her. "You want me to mark you?" She asked, surprised as she processed the loop hole i was suggesting. "Sure, why not that way, we are bonded and will feel each other, and we will complete the bond when I get back." I told her, cupping her face as I placed a gentle kiss on her lips. "You're an Alpha, and you would wear my mark without me wearing yours?" She asked, and I nodded. "I know weird right goes against all the toxic Alpha possessive behaviours of old. But it doesn't bother me. In fact, in my head, it's very logical." I replied. "Except for one problem." she responded as I pulled her to stradle me. My body's reaction to her was instant, and I loved it. "And what is that, Princess?" I murmured, tracing my hands under her top and up the silky smooth skin on the s
Rori. My mother knocked on my bedroom door"Rise and shine, Princess," she called as she opened it. "School today, Rori. I can't swing another heart broken mental health day for you." she added as she walked over to sit next to me on the bed. I wiped sleep from my eyes and groaned as I stretched "I don't want to, Mom. I am so tired." I sighed sadly."I know, sweetheart, but as a Luna, a Princess or a Queen mated to an Alpha, you have to keep going even when they are away. It's hard the mate bond makes you want them, and whilst I am surprised without marking each other, you feel it so strongly that i can only tell you one thing, Princess. " she smiled as I sat up. "Whats that?" I asked. "Suck it up and get your ass out of bed." she added. "You need to be strong and do what needs to be done whilst Ben is away. So school, family, and friends are your priority now." she said, standing up. "Get showered and dressed your Father expects you at breakfast." she told me as she left, closing
BenI raced toward where the pop of the gunshot had rung out, and my bike bounced down the dirt trail. As the trees became dense, I parked the bike and shook off my leather jacket. I ran into the thick trees and foliage. "Ben?" My dad's voice linked in my head. "Hunters to the west of the high school, a gunshot just went off. I am nearly on site, " I responded to the link. "Ben, be careful. The royal wolves are also patrolling in that area." he added. "Got it." I replied as I pushed Kane forward, and he sniffed the air. We could smell blood, and I followed my nose to a thick bushy area parting the bush. I saw an injured wolf blood gushed from its chest area. In the distance, I could smell and hear the footfall of humans as they drew near, clearly searching the undergrowth. I grabbed the large wolf and took off back the way I came as I linked my father and told him to have someone intercept me I wanted to stay and fight the hunters but it was clear the wolf was badly injured. This
Rori.(One Year Later) I watched as Teddy wobbled towards my laughing parents as they bent down to greet him. His chubby little hands out stretched to be picked up. He had only begun walking a few days prior right in time for his first birthday. My father was holding my now nearly one and half year old brother David, who was just as eager to see his little cousin. He reached for me as I scooped David up, and Ben and I note fussed over him as my parents did the same over their first grandchild. Eoin and Amira were next through the door with Amira carrying a large blue paper wrapped gift with a large silver bow. I greeted and embraced them warmly. Ash, my younger brother, arrived with my sister Victoria perched on his shoulders along with his best friend Kayda. James barreled in moments later with some random girlfriend he was passing the current week with. My aunt Daphne, Uncle Max, came next with their kids along with Danny and Dottie and their youngest Scarlet in Danny's arms. Once A
Ben"Isn't it perfect?" my mate cooed as she showed me the finishing touches on our cubs nursery. The pack was alive and buzzing with the news. We had spent the last few months getting our own house in Big Paw Pack ready, and this was the last room my mate had completed. She had taken extra care in picking every item that went into this room. She had pondered over every detail with amazement and happiness. "It's amazing." I agreed, but I was looking at her and not the room before me. I know it's a cliche, but my mate glowed, her red hair shone as it fell loose over her shoulders. She was wearing a pair of soft leggings and a soft off the shoulder beige jumper. Her rounded bump was now in full bloom, and I now fully understood the words I had heard her very own father say that he himself never loved his mate more than when she was carrying his pups. It all made sense to me now and despite the initial shock at our news, my now long since healed black eye from her twin brother when he fo
Rori. Since it was confirmed I was pregnant a few mere hours ago, I now felt it was so obvious. I was suddenly always starving it had to be psychological, right? I grumbled to myself. I was looking in my parents' fridge as I dug around, moving all her cheese. It would have been so simple if I shared my mother's pregnancy obsession with cheese, but sadly, I did not. I looked up with an excited expression when I scented Sage enter. "Sage." I called as I launched myself into her open arms. She giggled under my weight as she hugged me back. "Doughnuts?" She asked as I gasped. "Yes, thank god you're a life saver." I sighed as I grabbed some mugs and poured the freshly brewed coffee. "So what's been going on with you?" I asked through a mouthful of sugar glazed doughnuts icing that was now smeared across my lips. "A lot." Sage sighed. I paused my chewing. "Oh?" I said, encouraging her. "There's a guy." she sighed. "Oh, a guy?" I concealed my smile. "Anyone I know?" I asked. "No, h
BenSo there it was my whole life changed in the space of an afternoon. I had a secret feeling my mate wanted this more than I realised, and now two lines on a white stick had confirmed what we suspected. I was destined to be a young everything , I was a young shifter shifting at three years old in response to the presence of my mate and the issues in the royal pack at the time, I was a young mate, a young warrior and now it would seem I was to be a young father. I was really happy if all be it a little nervous. I hadn't even worked out how the bear pack would protect Rori, never mind a pregnant Rori. I also wondered when I should tell Aiden so he was aware of the added complications, but Rori had sworn me to silence while we were skinny dipping in our lake spot last night. She wanted it to be just our secret for now, but I did remind her wolves would smell it, and high-ranking wolves had a very good sense of smell. She hoped it would just come across as my scent, so I didn't disagree.
Rori. I smelled like him but more like him. What was he on about. I was slightly annoyed when he stopped kissing me and started sniffing me like he was on a mission. When he pressed his nose to the soft skin above my belly button, he looked up at me his eyes wide, and I stared back awkwardly. "No." I said aloud in my head, but conveniently, my wolf Tara was silent. I looked into Ben's face and I knew what he was thinking as I did the math on my last period and well it didn't work out in a number that allowed me to reasure him convincingly, with everything that had gone on in the past month and after my heat I hadn't kept track. He pressed his nose again to my stomach and breathed in my scent. "Well?" I asked him as he pulled away slightly. "Well, what?" he asked as I noticed his face was a little pale. "Well, we go get you your ice cream, wait and see at an appointment with Dr Teller, or we go to the drug store and get a test?" he responded. I pondered his options. "Drug store." I
Ben. The Vampire's report supported what my mate had suspected, and I was sure now she was right. Anthony had agreed to allow Madame Lux place him under a spell to replay his keys memories in an attempt to prove he thought he was acting on the moon Goddesses behalf and not his own plight for a higher title. I personally never liked the guy, but then he was a threat to my mate, so instinctively, we were never going to be best friends. The guys Arthur,Eoin, James, and Ash as Alpha's and Beta blood never felt the same as me. Now Rori was marked by me I didn't feel as strong in some ways but then I was reminded of him forcing himself on her and this was why I asked King Emmett and Beta Adam to leave me out of the deliberations regarding Anthony. They had agreed, and I was happy to leave it in the hands of her father. I was now sitting with my future Gamma Aiden as we went over Rori's new detail. I wanted to ask the King to remove his men from her service, but I needed to make sure she wa
Rori. Ben didn't give me shit about my quest to save Anthony he just supported me. After the council and my request for an in-depth look at exactly what Anthony was guilty of, he hadn't judged me. In fact, he had stated to the council when asked that he stood by me. What more could a girl want in a mate I laughed as Tara agreed. Big, tall, handsome body of Adonis and willing to stand by me. He had spent all evening making me forget, so by the time I was hungry enough to head to the kitchen where my parents sat, I felt like jelly. The bliss was running through my veins. "I brought you two up a plate from the pack hall." my mom called as I unwrapped the foil to peek inside. "Steak and baked potatoes." I told Ben as he nodded, and I loaded it into the oven to warm up. "I hear you want Anthony to be re investigated." My mom called from the seating area where she was cuddled up with my dad. I smiled for all the world they looked like two teenagers, my dad's hand resting on the slightly
BenI watched Rori bite her lip as she considered my question. What could she possibly be angling at here. "Rori?" I prompted, raising my eyebrow. "I have a strong feeling here, Ben, that Anthony isn't to blame." she sighed. I couldn't believe this when it came to Anthony she always had a soft spot for this overconfident idiot Alpha. He always irked me, and I was willing to bet that was the possessive nature in me, but to me, Anthony had no redeeming positives. "Rori, he led an attack on my pack." I said. "Our pack," I added, emphasising the our. She shook her head. "That's just it, Ben. I don't believe he led anything. Do we have solid proof that Anthony hurt anyone?" She said as my mouth fell open. "Rori, he tried to force himself on you to mark you forcefully." I reminded her, trying hard to keep the anger from my tone. "Yes, he did on his mother's orders, and under the belief he had held his whole life that he was doing what the moon goddess wanted." she replied. "That doesn
RoriYup, I was being childish. I knew this, but something about being back under my parents' roof always made me rivert back to a childish, moody teenager. I was well aware of this when I slammed my bedroom and was even more aware of it when I dramatically tossed myself face down on my bed, but I had committed now to the dramatic tantrum. I lay there alone whilst Tara laughed in my head about how weird human emotions were. I mean since my awakening as a mate I now could possibly guess exactly how my parents found themselves in this situation not that I didn't know the dynamics before its just now more clear and yuck a shudder ran through me. "I think the key here is not to put yourself and Ben in your parents' shoes." Tara chuckled in my head. "Oh goddess, shut up." I replied, burying my face in the pillows. After a while, I heard a gentle knock on my door, and my mother entered, holding a buttercream cake and two forks. She sat on the bed as I sat up she held out one of the forks
