Later...Third-person POV“A fake pregnancy? Really?” She asked him on their way back.“What?”“It wouldn't have hurt you to give me a heads up.”“It was a spur of the moment.”“I think I should be worried about how you’re so good at lying with how easily you pulled that stunt tonight.”“It wasn’t not lying. It was acting and I just know how to keep my cool. It’s easier to tell when I’m lying than you think. And I mostly did it to make the situation less uncomfortable for you.”“Thanks, I guess. Anyway, care to explain the ring?”“I did earlier. Hope you like it, Wifey.”“Fine. As long as you don't call me that ever again.”“Ok. Wifey.” He chuckled.“Seriously?”“I couldn’t resist. And here's your stop.” He said as he pulled up into the driveway.“Wait here.”“Sure.”She went upstairs to put Natsumi to sleep before joining him.“Here's your stuff back. They’ve already been washed, and the shirts are ironed.”“Thanks, but maybe keep them. You never know when I might need clothes to cha
The next morning…Third-person POVTrey wasn’t there when she woke up, but he had left a message on her phone, apologising for leaving without saying anything and saying that he had put the pillows and blankets back in her closet. He had also left a gift basket with a variety of snacks, berries and a bottle of whiskey.Later at the park…“I’m thinking of potty training Natsumi.” She told Takumi.“Oh?”“Yeah. Lately, she’s been embarrassed about asking for a diaper change. Apparently, it’s a sign to start potty training. But it’s entirely up to her. You can help if you want to. That's if she wants to try it.”“Sure.”“Give me a sec. Tsumi, would you like to use the potty on your own?”“No mowe baby pants?”“Yes.”“Ok, I twy.”“Well, that was easy,” He commented.“No kidding. I was thinking of using the three-day potty-training method if she said yes.”“How does it work?”“Basically, she'll be going commando for three days and having extra liquids and fibre. So whatever nice rugs you do
Twilight POVI knocked on the door and waited.“You know; we could just go in,” Asteria said.“You say that as if we own the place.”“He won't mind.”“You don't know that.”I was snapped out of what could've...would've turned into an argument by something tugging at my shirt. I was expecting a pup since they usually do that when they want to talk to me. It's not that I mind, it's kind of cute actually. I just wonder how or why they think it's a better idea to do that instead of just asking. Back to the main focus. But it was just Trey's wolf and from the way he was wagging his tail, he must be excited to see me. A little too excited if you ask me. It's like looking at a large pup. Because of that, I felt the urge to give him head pats and belly rubs.As if he read my mind, he lowered his head and waited expectantly. I guessed that it was for a head pat, so I gave him a few and it earned me a few licks on the face. I guess that makes us even. After a while, he rolled over onto his back
Third-person POVWhen she woke up, she found herself already shifted and back at the cabin with tons of blankets and clothes on. She also noticed that the fireplace was lit and that she had been sleeping on the couch with her head on Trey’s lap. She knew that he was awake when he began caressing her behind her eyes, but she stayed like that and pretended that she was still sleeping. Mostly because she didn’t want to move and was more than happy to stay that way forever. But she then sneezed, and he stopped.“Well, I guess I’m busted,” She said. When she sat up, he pulled her into a tight embrace.“Goddess, I’m so glad you’re ok.”“What are you talking about?”“Long story short, I woke up to find you had shifted. When I brought you, the time told me that we were out for about an hour. But geez, you should’ve told me that you shift back in your sleep so I wouldn’t have let us sleep outside.”“Thing is, I don’t. It’s only the second time that’s it happened, and the first time was years a
Day 2…Third-person POVThe next morning, he wasn’t there when she woke up. She was a little disappointed but figured that he’d call.Later…“You have a hard head,” Twilight said. “I can still feel the bump from yesterday. No wonder pushing her was hard.”“I’m pretty sure she got it from you.”“Actually, wait here. I forgot to give you something.” She went to get it and came back a few moments later. “Here. It’s a copy of her photo album. You missed out on a year and a half of her life, and this is about as close as you can get to getting that time back.”“Oh, thanks.”“She first started teething when she was a week old. She said her first word when she was six months, and it was “Mammy”. That’s what she used to call me for about a month, and it was also around that time that she became obsessed with minions. Banana was her favourite word. Her first steps came a month after and so did the trouble. Frank was her birthday present.”“Sounds like she grew up fast.”“To be fair, she’s not
Third-person POVTrey’s nose caught the familiar scent of freshly baked sugar cookies, but he figured it was impossible and concluded that he'd finally lost it.“I thought I'd find you here. Stop flooding my phone with messages if I clearly won't answer back.”“Ams...whoa, what happened to your hair? Were you fighting with a curling iron or something? It looks like you lost.”“I don't own a curling iron. Anyway, my hair always gets frizzy whenever the air gets too humid or dry and I didn’t have a hair tie on me to... stop laughing. It's not funny.”“If it's not funny then why am I laughing?”“Because you're a dick.”“Or because it is funny. But you're right, it's not funny.”“Really?”“Yeah. It's hilarious.”“You're the dickiest dick of all time.”“I can’t even take your insult seriously.”She couldn't deny that his one dimpled smile was making it hard for her to stay mad. Until he pinched her arm.“What the fuck was that for?”“Just checking to see if you're real. Glad to know that I
Third-person POV“What exactly is your better idea?” He asked once they got to her pack.“You can have breakfast with Natsumi and me.”“Are you sure?”“If I say it’s fine then it’s fine. And she once said it herself that she doesn’t mind you being around. If it’s my dad you’re worried about, don’t be. He’ll probably chase you around the place but that’s the best-case scenario.”“Don’t you mean worst-case scenario?”“I wish. If you want a little more privacy, there’s a study next to the Throne Room.”She would’ve said her office, but it would’ve made her a little uncomfortable because she still had all the flowers from Alex.“Let’s do that then.”“Ok. Follow me.” She took him upstairs. “Wait in here.”After a few moments, she came back with Natsumi.“Hi, Uncle Twey.”“Hey, kiddo.”“Can you watch her while I get breakfast?” Twilight asked.“Sure.”“Thanks.” She said before leaving.“You like Mama?”“Why?”“Mama said you’we fwiend, so she like you.”“Oh ok. I like her too then.”“Ok.”“D
Later...Twilight POV“Which one of them was it?” Mitsu asked.“You know; you shouldn’t ask questions like that when you know I won’t know who or what you’re talking about.”“Which one of the Alphas in the secret husband? It was a little hard to pinpoint with so many scents in one room and he didn’t give himself away either. But at least it made the list of possibilities much shorter.”“And you think I’ll just fess up?”“Ok, you make a fair point, but will you at least tell me which ones are unmated?”“Not happening.”“I’ll find out one way or another. I have something else to ask.”“Sure.”“Well, tomorrow is Shin’s final verdict. Be honest with me. How do things look for him?”“Logically speaking, I’d say pretty good since he hasn’t done anything wrong as far as I know, and I doubt he’ll mess up after coming so far.”“Oh.” She breathed a sigh of relief. I get that she's worried about him, but I have a feeling that it's more to it than that.“Is there anything else you wanted to ask?”
1. Book 2 was never planned. It’s literally based on me putting two brain cells together to come up with ideas cuz the first book exhausted the rest of my brain cells, and I obviously didn’t expect to be writing a book 3. I was going to write one, but now it’ll be book 4 (we’ll get to that another time). 2. Natsumi’s name was originally Hakumei because it translates to twilight. Then I changed it to Koharu (which means little sun) because of her blonde hair, but I decided to make it Natsumi because...I just liked it better ok. 3. Back to the second point, Natsumi was originally blonde like Takumi, but I changed her colour to black to make the genetics thing a little more realistic. 4. In the beginning, Twilight and Trey were already supposed to be together (as in during those three years, she and Trey made up), but I don’t know why I didn’t add it in. 5. Twilight wasn’t supposed to have two wolves, but I thought it would be cool, so I added that. 6. Twilight and Trey were suppose
This is where the second book ends (yay). I’m ending it here because I felt that the storyline was starting to get too long for one book. This means that there’ll be a third book, but (drumroll) it’ll be part 2 of this one. But I’m calling it Mates and Temptations because The Pains of Guilt Part 2 didn’t sound catchy. And as a special little something, I added a bonus chapter after this one and a little blurb about the third book. I don’t have an exact date for when I’ll release book 3 because when it comes to my writing, I hate deadlines (they make me rush things and it affects the quality of my writing). The only reason I had one for this book is that I already had a lot of chapters ready for release long before I finished the first book. Anyway, book 2 will be available for purchase from retailers around mid-January or the first week of February (there's a ton of editing I need to do while also working on book 3). Blurb: Twilight and Trey have finally reconciled and accepted each
Twilight POV Crap. Busted. Wait, no, I haven't done anything yet, so I'm not busted. In fact, why am I acting guilty of doing something I didn't do when I should be pissed right now? “How many?” I asked. “Can you ask a normal question, so I know what you're talking about?” I showed him the wallpaper. “Oh. That.” Is he serious? “That's all you have to say?” I asked. “I was supposed to say more?” “Ok. Well, this is unbelievable.” “It's not as if I can deny it, and besides, it’s just a picture.” “Just a picture? Actually, I'm more surprised by the fact that you're even calling it a picture.” “C'mon, it's not that bad.” Not that bad? He's practically asking me to throttle him right here and now. “Besides, it's my favourite one,” He continued. “Favourite one? You mean there's more?” I'm having a flashback of all the not-so-graceful moments I've had while he was around. And they're a lot. “Yeah.” “Tell me you're joking.” “I'm not.” “I'm never getting comfortable around y
Third-person POVThe next day, Natsumi came into Twilight's room and jumped on her causing her to wake up.“Happy biwthday, Mama.”“Thank you, honey, but you don't have to wake up me like that.”“But excited.”“Sigh. I can't stay mad at that face.”“C'mon, Mama.” She dragged her out of bed. “See pwesent.”“Ok ok. I'm coming.”She was taken to her dad's room.“So, she actually woke you up. I tried to stop her, but she was already gone.”“Pop-pop, give Mama pwesent.”“Alright.”He gave her a gift bag. Inside was a simple, white summer dress with spaghetti straps and black butterflies at the hem.“You likes it, Mama?”“Of course, I do.”“I's best pwesentew.”She didn't want to burst Natsumi's bubble
A few weeks later…Third-person POV“Happy biwthday, Papa.”“Thank you, Nugget. But how did you know it was today?”“I told her, and happy birthday.”“Oh. Thanks.”“Got you pwesent, Papa.” She gave him a gift bag and inside was a watch. “Likes it?”“Yes, I do. So, I'm having dinner with my parents later and they asked me to ask you to come over. If you want to.”“Ok but will...”“Yeah, she'll be there.”“Then I'll have to bring Trey with me. I'm not trying to get even; he'll just be there to stop me from doing something I won’t regret.”“It's alright.”Later that night...“Are you sure you want to eat that much?” Matako asked. “Or are you aiming to pack more pounds than you already have?”
The next day...Third-person POV“What time is it?” She asked.“08:05”“Oh shit.”“What?”“I was supposed to pick up her dress over half an hour ago and bring it to her five minutes ago. And the wedding is at 9...”In her hurry, she tried to get out of bed, but almost ended up falling off and landing on her face before he caught her.“Not that I'm not taking you seriously, but I think you should slow down a little before you break a bone or two.”“My best friend's been waiting 25 years for this day, and I'm not about to screw it up for her. If I have to break a bone or two, then so be it.”“Alright, but don't attack me. I was just saying.”Half an hour later...She was about to exit the shop when she got an incoming call from Mitsuri. Deciding that she'd rather deal with
Twilight POVIt’s been almost two weeks since I last spoke to him. Everything is supposed to be fine now, or at least I thought it’d be. This whole thing is bothering me, and it’s not supposed to.I want to call him, but call him and say what? I could start by apologising for bringing up the two-mates thing out of nowhere. Then what? We go back to how things were in the beginning? Honestly, that’s how things should’ve stayed, and maybe, I wouldn’t be so conflicted.Trey POVShould I call her? I’ve been staring at my phone, with her contact on the screen, for who knows how long. I don’t even know if she wants to talk to me.“How long are you going to keep staring at her number?”Daisuke was sitting in front of me.“When did you get here?” I asked.“A while ago. You were so lost that you didn’t even
The next day…Third-person POV“Ams?” Trey came into her office. She got up and ran into his arms.“I thought you’d have at least wanted me to shower first,” He said.“You do stink, but I’m already used to it. What are you doing here though? You still have two weeks left.”“I was let out for good behaviour. That or they got tired of the noise I was making every time I beat the daylights out of Daichi.”“The latter sounds more believable. Are you going back to your pack now?”“What if I said later?”“I wouldn’t mind you staying a little longer. Come on,” She took him to her room.“You can use my shower and take a nap or sleep in here afterwards. I got a few things yesterday in case you wanted to stay here, but I forgot to get men’s shower gel. The closest thing I have is a lemon-scented one.”“That’s fine as long as I get to shower. I wouldn’t want my pack to see me in such a pathetic state.”“I’ll leave you to it then. Oh, and a few of your clothes are still in my closet,” She said be
The next night…Third-person POV“May I ask you something?” Trey asked.“You already are but sure.”“I’m curious to know what you do that makes you so tired most of the time. I get that you have a pack and pup to care of, but it doesn’t always add up.”“I have a job, but I do work from home most of the time. Other than that, I do other small things, like helping out in the kitchen whenever we have a pack dinner and the farms on Mondays and Wednesdays. I mostly got into all that after Natsumi’s dad and I split up to keep myself busy. I thought I’d stop after a while, but I guess enjoy it more than I thought I would.”“Would it make any difference if I suggested that you slow down?”“No. Your words would just go in one ear and out the other.”“I thought so,” He sighed."Anyway, you never told me about what you do for work. I remember you mentioning something about pups that one time."“I'm a certified child psychologist. I like working with them, and they feel the same.”“Ah, that's why
