“Come with me,” wasn’t an invitation. Logan took hold of Meguitte’s hand and pulled her towards him. He cupped her face with his other hand and smiled. “That’s better. We will discuss the other nonsense together when we’re back at base,” he told her.

“Let’s go,” he released her cheek and strode towards the front of the warehouse, tugging Meguitte along behind him. Lark kept the gun trained on her as the trio of witches fell in behind them, her expression, when Meguitte glanced back at her, grim and pointed - if Meguitte made a move, Lark would shoot her.

“To the left, Sparrow,” Dove told him breathlessly.

“Thank you, Robyn,” he replied. “How are your injuries?” He added absently as he took the hallway towards the still open side door. “And where is your top?”

“They’re getting better,” Dove told him. “I can move my fingers again. Phoenix threw a pot of spell-liquid on Robyn, and she used my top to wipe it off.”

“Spell liquid?” Logan glanced down at Meguitte. “W
