Chapter Eight

“Remember, your brother's friends are coming and staying with us for a few weeks.” Mom says as we make our way back home.

“Great! They are not suitors for me, are they?” I ask her jokingly.

“Maybe!” She replies.

“Dad. Tell her to stop setting me up. I don’t need mates to make me happy. I have enough going on with traveling and healing those that need it.” I exclaim as mom laughs while dad just shakes his head at us.

“You are my only daughter, so of course I want you to find a family that you can grow old and happy with.” Mom complains as I give her a no, thanks look.

As we arrived home, the familiar sight of our cozy cottage welcomed us back. I let out a contented sigh, grateful for the warmth and comfort it provided. Mom's words about my brothers' friends staying with us echoed in my mind, and a spark of curiosity ignited within me. Who were these visitors that would grace our home for the next few weeks?
