-Conner’s POV-

Every ounce of self-constraint that I had just gave up and I instantly gave in to my desire. I leaned my forehead on hers, “I have been controlling my desires for God knows how long.” I took a deep breath before whispering “I can’t promise that I will be gentle.” She seductively giggled and moved her lips closer to mine, “I didn’t say that you should be.” F*ck it! I miss her. I miss her so bad. I’m sorry I can’t hold it any longer. I groaned and cupped her cheeks and sealed our desires with a long passionate kiss. I didn’t want us to stop kissing that we can only manage short breaths in between. Her moans are priceless as I nibbled around the surface of her breasts before lingering my tongue on her nipples while the finger of my other hand is busy exploring her other breast. I started kissing the valley between her breasts then down to her tummy. I feel like I didn’t want to miss any spot of her body. I want to savor ever inch of her. I stopped what I was doing as I pul

-Lucy’s POV-I am truly excited to get busy again in my café. I love the sweet scent of flour, the heat, and the hustle. I am used to the rush, and it makes me feel alive. It has been two weeks since I left to rest because of my peptic ulcer. I am currently preparing my things when Conner got out from the shower. He approached and hugged me from behind “Are you sure you are going back to work now?” I faced him and said, “I know you can do things for me, but I miss my job. The café is my life even before we met each other and besides I don’t want to get used to having you do things for me.” He sighed “But I want you to. I told you I got your back.” I kissed him on the lips “I know, but I want to do this.” He shrugged his shoulders in surrender “Okay, fine. Anything you want I will support.” I hugged him tight “Thank you, baby! Hmmm…Want pancakes for breakfast? I’ll make some.” He smiled and nodded. I gave him a quick kiss before going to the kitchen.I am preparing the ingredients to c

-Lucy’s POV- I may be making a drastic move, but I do feel that I have gambled everything just to lose. Maybe you are just overreacting. Maybe you have to give Conner a chance to explain. Don’t be too selfish. Me? Selfish? I made her look down on me the moment she laid eyes on me. She couldn’t even believe that I am Conner’s wife! Then, I allowed Conner to make her stay at our house! Our home! That’s our private space, but somehow Conner managed to persuade me into getting my permission to make room for her! And now she is sitting on his lap like she owns him! Is that being selfish?! Don’t you think that that’s being selfless? Her timing is on the spot. She barged into our relationship when everything is going perfectly well. I am sitting down on our bed truly astonished by the thought. I scoffed, “You never fail to amaze me Conner. After all the revelation, you didn’t even dare to catch up with me nor dare to stop me from leaving. Instead, you stayed by her side and not w

  • The Orphan's Goddess   61. Use my Shower

-Lucy's POV-The space I’m currently renting isn’t so bad. Once you enter you will be greeted by the mini kitchen and right across is the bed and the comfort room. It’s a small space but has accessibility of the basic needs. Adding accents will give this room the right vibe that I need, but this will do for now. I am so stressed out for the day that all I ever want is some rest. I placed my luggage on the bed and took out my pajamas to call it a day. I went to the comfort room to shower, but to my disappointment the shower doesn’t work. Probably because this place hasn’t been occupied for a long time. I am not familiar of this place and so I am not sure where I could find plumbing. I sighed, “I guess I have to ask the landlord about this.” I went out of my room and knocked on the door of the next room where Christopher lives. “Ahm..E-excuse me Christopher?” There was no response and so I had to knock again “Christopher are you still awake?” the voice from the other room shouted, “Hold

-Lucy’s POV-I indulged myself to the warm water running through my body. I am taking a shower like I never had before. I know it wouldn’t really help, but right now I was praying that all of the pain inside my heart would be washed away by the water. I am not sure of how long it took me to finish showering, but the moment I stepped out of the shower the Chris’ room is awfully quiet. Did he go somewhere? I immediately went our of his room only to find him sleeping on the steel chair that was outside. Oh my goodness! So he stayed outside the whole time you were taking a bath in his shower?! That is so sweet! Now, that’s what you call a gentleman, Lucy! I think you might be right about this person. Maybe he does have a pure heart! He respected the fact that I was in his shower and so he opted to stay outside to make me feel comfortable. He also did not go inside my room probably because he was thinking that my things are in there. I was touched by what he did. If he were somebody else I

-Lucy’s POV-For some reason I was flushed. The feeling of his hand over my lips made me feel uncomfortable. However, the most boggling question is why do I feel so uneasy? This guy is friendly, kind, generous, and sweet. Maybe his gesture is also an act of kindness and nothing more to it. So, why do I feel this way? I shrug it off and focus on getting some sleep because tomorrow I have to find the perfect spot for me to meet up with Ronald as soon as possible. The sunlight shone through my windowpane and when I checked the time it was already 8 o’clock in the morning. I feel really tired and would love to just lie down and rest some more, but I know better. I have a business to run and with the current situation that I am in right now it will be a real challenge for me not to get caught by Conner. I was about to get up when there was a knock on the door. I hustled and made a quick check on how I looked in the mirror before opening the door. Did you really have to check on how you loo

    - Conner’s POV –I see Lucy’s figure leaving. I wanted to run after her, but I have to complete my mission. This must stop or my relationship with my wife will be jeopardized. I clenched my fists and went roaring towards Margaret. My clenched fists banged hard on my table startling the innocent-looking Margaret. Her face is angelic, but her attitude is far from what she looks like!“ What the hell to do you think you are doing Margaret?! Are you that desperate?! Do you really think that by getting rid of my wife it would make me want you?” Margaret stood up from my swivel chair, ran towards me and hugged me. “Call me desperate or whatever! All I want is your love and be mine!” Her words gave a distasteful sting in my mouth. I forcefully took her arms and freed myself from her embrace. “Margaret, do you know why I could never learn to love you despite everything you have done for me?” I looked at her straight in the eyes, wanting to penetrate every ounce of my anger towards her. “You ar

    - Conner’s POV-I can never be sure about this woman. Who knows how many tricks she has under her sleeve. Having that thought I casually took out my phone and chatted my trustworthy assistant, Alfred. ‘Alfred, go and check if there is a reservation made by Mr. Laviv at the La Viva Restaurant at 8 in the evening. Give me an update as soon as possible.’ Alfred, as always has an immediate response. ‘Copy that, Mr. Lowell.’ After reading his reply I dialed the number of our house staff. I am really worried about how Lucy is doing now. I haven’t had the chance to explain things with her. I can see the pain and anger in her eyes. For some reason I wasn’t able to react when she said that she no longer wants to listen. It was as if I was struck by lightning, but if I delay my mission I’m afraid that it will be too late for us. The phone rang and a house staff spoke from the other line. “Good afternoon, Mr. Lowell. How may help you?” I took a deep breath hoping that my wife is at home. “Is my

-Lucy’s POV- I am not sure if what I am doing is right especially that I will be using Chris again to escape from this whole mess that I am in, but I think that I don’t have any other choice. When I asked him if he could take me away he blinked a couple of times trying to digest and let everything sink in. When he figured things out, he held both of my arms and caressed them softly as he gave me a sweet smile. “Lucy, you are truly extraordinary. You never failed to amuse me.” Now, it was my turn to be confused. What is he trying to say? “You are smart woman.” He continued. “and since you are a smart woman. I think you know better that this is not the way to solve things out. We don’t want to do things that we might regret in the long run especially now that you have an angel inside your belly.” He gently placed his hand over my still small belly. Conner was trying to restrain himself from striding towards us and Ronald was quick enough to sense that for he placed his hand

-Lucy’s POV-I slowly opened my eyes when I felt the warmth of the heat of the sun coming from the windowpane. My sight was still a little blurry and so I tried blinking a couple of times to clear my vision. My head was buzzing and I could hear voices talking not far from where I was laying. When my vision cleared I finally realized that I was in what it looked like a clinic. I shifted myself to a sitting position trying to get a glimpse of who the voices belonged to. I then saw Ronald and the doctor was right beside him. It looked like they were listening to somebody else. I was about to stand up when his eyes glanced at me, he immediately rushed towards me to assist me. “Lucy, be careful.” The doctor then followed him and checked on my vital signs. While the doctor was checking on me another figure came inside the room. It was Conner. My eyes widened at the sight of him. Oh for the love of the heavens! Why is he here?! Agh! Ronald! You’ve got some explaining to do! I looked at Ronal

-Conner’s POV-I am in rage! It has been three days since the search for my wife has started and I am truly disappointed. How big is Brisbane for them to not immediately locate my wife?! This is frustrating! Where could she be? I couldn’t sleep well knowing that my wife is somewhere out there on her own and it’s all my fault. Paperworks were piled on the table, but I couldn’t think well. I-I can’t go on like this. I have to concentrate because people are depending on me. I’m going insane! I took out a folder and reviewed its contents when my phone rang. I checked who was calling and it was Ronald. I answered the call in a trance wanting nothing, but good news from him. “Hello, Mr. Lowell.” Ronald started saying when I answered his call. “I’m not really sure how to start, but I want you to know that I want to be loyal to you, but I also want to be loyal to Lucy.” What the heck is Ronald doing. I impatiently groaned and just wanted him to be direct to the point. “Can you cut the crap an

-Lucy’s POV- I am not certain of what to do. The only thing that I wish right now is for Ronald to be by my side. He is the only person I can think of that would truly help me out in this situation. I was too clouded with the emotions I felt because of what Conner did to me, but I didn’t expect this kind of danger that I might put myself into. Of all people, why did I have to encounter the arch enemy of Conner, Amber and Bernard Yates. If I wasn’t Mrs. Lowell I wouldn’t be cornered like this. I sighed. However, I am the Mrs. Lowell and so I no choice, but to find a way how to face this. Should I go back to Conner? My thoughts trailed off, but it was cut off when my phone rang. It was Ronald. “Lucy, I just entered Jhon Street.” I nodded and said, “Just go forward and to your right you should see a mailbox with a print ‘Woods’ on it.” “Got it.” Ronald responded. Just then, I heard voices from outside. I hurriedly stood up and peeked through the window. It was Christopher blo

Lucy’s POV- This day couldn’t get any better. Amongst all the people in the world, why she? The woman who also almost broke my relationship with Conner. What Luck!?! But, wait a second, Bernard Yates. The name sounds so familiar. Could it be? Oh my God! Bernard Yates, the person whom Conner and I had encountered before! The person we had a confrontation with! The CCTV guy! Oh no! this is bad. I have to do something. “What an honor to have THE Mrs. Lowell here in my humble café.” She placed her hand on her chest acting so noble and dramatic. Doesn’t suit you b*tch! “What brings you here Mrs. Lowell? Where is Mr. Conner Lowell?” Her neck could stretch like elastic girl while looking for Conner. “Don’t stress yourself out Amber, I didn’t come here with Conner. I came here with Christopher.” When I looked at Chris I can see the surprise in his eyes. “Y-you’re married? Y-you’re THE Mrs. Lowell?” I almost forgot that I was trying to hide my identity here so that Conner wouldn’t

-Lucy’s POV- The view in Redcliffe is breathtaking! Chris was right! The best way to explore Redcliffe is through a motorcycle ride. The fresh air, the beach, the whole entire package of Redcliffe is astonishing! Why haven’t I come here before? This place makes me feel alive and just forget of all of my worries, but that is far from reality. As much as I want to enjoy this place, I need to get a hold of Ronald so that we can formulate a routine on how to manage the business without getting caught by Conner. It was around 11 o’clock that Chris brought me to this small café called ‘Ultimatum’. I went off the bike first and was about to take off the helmet I was wearing when Chris grabbed my arm to pull me closer to him and took off the helmet himself. Wow! That was smooth! I guess he is just like that, a gentleman. After taking off my helmet he took off his and said, “I hope you don’t mind, this café is not much but this is actually one of my favorites here in Redcliffe. I

I shrugged my shoulders and said, “For somebody who is a complete stranger to me, I must say that I am lucky to have found a new friend who is willing to help me in any way he could. Thank you Chris for making things a bit easy for me.” I made it a point to mention the word FRIEND emphasizing the relationship that we have and the only relationship we will ever have.
