Chapter Sixty Four

Nancy had no idea why she felt even more emotional. She couldn't tell if it was the fact that she never foresaw this, most especially tonight, or the fact that she had never seen Connor this way. She could hardly believe he was the one kneeling before her and crying his eyes out.

"Connor," she called out his name after a while.

"Get off me,"

He shook his head against her belly.

"I know I'm not worthy of your forgiveness but I'm not going to leave here unless you accept me back into your life."

"You know that's not possible. You know that's not going to happen?!"

"Then I would rather be here." He held her waist tighter, still sobbing.

Nancy sighed, trying to push back fresh tears from her eyes.

"You are ruining my clothes."

"I'm going to get new ones for you."

"I'm serious, Connor, get off me!" She tried to pull him off her but she wasn't succeeding.

"Okay, I give up!"

He sniffled, then looked up at her with his teary eyes.
