CHAPTER ONE-HUNDRED & TWENTY FOUR

Noah's Pov

The path to Colin's home was a winding one, and with the wet ground, I almost went mud sledding. The slight hill that sloped down this shortcut was dangerously arched, yet low in a plateau. And I reached one foot at a time, feeling for solid ground, before I took any step.

The rain didn't show any sign of stopping anytime soon, and I groaned in frustration as my feet splashed and sploshed; going almost ankle deep in brown soil. I kept my head forward however, with my night vision re-ignited, getting closer and treading carefully. The night had grown old and the skies had subsequently fallen in a darker shade. The moon itself seemed to have retreated into its own home for fear of being struck by lightning.

But I tramped onward and reached a clearing; a grove of shrubs that formed an unintentional fence around Colin's abode, and I maneuvered myself as well as my umbrella through and over it, now finding myself in his front yard.

"Colin!!!" I yelled.
