MAYA
It was five am in the morning and I had to go downstairs to cook since Carissa didn't like her maids cooking for her.
Sue was already in the kitchen, just like I had expected and I greeted her first before going to wash my hands.
" Did you sleep well? " She asked and I nodded in response.
" Yes, I did, " I answered. We said nothing else aside from that as things were really awkward between us.
I didn't like the uncomfortable air around us, but there was nothing I could do about it as that was how it was going to be for the time being.
" I heard you and Davis had an argument last night, " I spoke out, wanting to bring up a topic and she glanced at me for a moment before going back to what she was doing.
" He came to talk to me about Victor and I flipped out for a moment. We have settled it and he has apologized to me alr
MAYAI glared at Carissa, wondering what her problem was this time around. Was it a bad thing for him to join us for breakfast?" He is in this house, why can't he join us? " I retorted and Davis cleared his throat, standing up from his chair." Ethan, come with me. Let grandpa feed you today, " he offered, taking Ethan from Carissa and their food from the table before going upstairs." What do you think you're doing? " Carissa asked me." That's exactly what I should be asking you, mom, what exactly are you doing? I understand that you don't like him, nor do you want to accept him into this family. But, are you going to let him starve? He is in your house, " I queried and she folded her arms, raising her brows as she gave me a knowing look." Why should I care if he starves or not? No one invited him here in the first place, " she pointed out.
MAYASince there was nothing we would be doing in the house, I decided to show Victor around the pack while Ethan spent some time with Carissa and Davis. I also wanted to use that time to get some things off our mind." You were right, this pack is really big. I didn't even know the pack was as big as this and when Gabriel talked about it, I always thought that he was exaggerating because it was his mother's pack, " Victor commented as he looked around with anticipation." He was right though, it is bigger than the Bloodfang Pack. The Mooncrown Pack is competing with the pack of the Alpha King regarding that, " I explained to him." Then, why isn't Davis a member of the council? Shouldn't he be the Council leader? " He questioned and I shook my head, disagreeing with him." That position is too low for him. The Alpha King has been trying to make him hi
VICTOR BLOODBORNEI walked behind Davis as we headed to his office, different thoughts running through my head. He said he wanted to talk to me, and was waiting outside for me, which meant that it was serious. We finally got to his office and I shut the door behind me after I had gotten in. I waited for him to start talking and I fidgeted with my fingers, feeling a trail of sweat run down my face." You don't need to be scared, I'm not Carissa. I just wanted to speak with you, that's all. Please, sit down, " he assured, while sitting down and I did the same as he had instructed." You know, " he started and I sat up, giving him my full attention. " Maya might not be my real daughter, but I love her just the same way I love Bella and that was why I adopted her. She might look strong and all that, but she is still a little child to me and I will always treat her like one, ".
3RD PERSONCarissa and Davis were spending some time with Ethan after Davis was done with speaking to Victor. He couldn't let Carissa know what he said to Victor, so he decided to keep it a secret.Instead, he went to her room to spend more time with her and Ethan. The both of them were talking, so he decided to join them, acting like nothing had happened." Grandpa, I was telling grandma about Daddy. Daddy saved me from Aunt Selena when she took me away from mum. That time, I didn't know he was my daddy, but he saved me and mummy. After that day, I didn't see him again, " Ethan told him and Davis gasped." Why didn't you see him again? " He asked and Ethan shrugged, not knowing the answer to that." Mummy did not tell me because I did not ask her. But when I saw him again, he was in our house and he saved me from mummy. That was when I knew that he wa
3RD PERSONDavid and Carissa stared at Ethan with wide eyes, wondering how he found out about that. There was no way Victor would have told him about it, since Ethan was just a five year old." Who told you that, Ethan? " Carissa asked nonetheless, she still had to confirm from him before getting into conclusion." Nobody. I heard it from you, grandma, " he admitted and she creased her brows in confusion, pointing at herself." Me? When did I ever tell you that? " She asked and Davis stifled a laugh but apologized the moment he received a glare from his wife." You told daddy that he isn't welcome in this house, you did not allow him and mummy to stay in the same room, you did not allow him to have breakfast with us. You hate daddy, " he pointed out as tears filled his eyes.Davis couldn't believe that he pinpointed those things ev
3RD PERSON" Aunt Carissa, can I speak with you? " Victor asked, after he had managed to calm his beating heart." Why? Did Ethan tell you to come talk to me? " She retorted, not giving him a glance, her focus on the wool she was crocheting." I was on my way to you before I met him, he isn't the reason why I am here, " he admitted." I'll leave you two to talk, " Davis chipped in before walking out of the room. Victor wanted to stop him from leaving, but he decided to compose himself before he ended up being a coward like Carissa said." What do you want to say? " She asked." Thank you for allowing me to stay here for a few days, " he appreciated." Aunt Carissa, I'm sorry, " he apologized to her, and she scoffed, finally raising her head to look at him." I've heard you, you can leave, "
3RD PERSONVictor shook his head and waved his hands at Carissa, trying to dismiss her apology as he felt that she wasn't supposed to apologize to him." It's fine, Aunt Carissa, I understand why you got angry at me. I am a parent just like you and I would do everything to protect my son from harm. To be honest, I had no idea why you hated me and always blamed me for Gabriel's death, but I understood perfectly after I began to hold Maya and Ethan so dear in my life. I would do anything to protect my wife and son, even if it means giving up my life to save them, " he explained to her." Even still, I offended you when you had no hand in what happened. The truth is that I knew that you weren't to blame, but I just needed someone to put the blame on and you were the easiest target. As time passed, I began seeing you as the culprit and imprinted that in my mind that it got so hard for me to get convinced otherw
3RD PERSONMaya stood up from the ground and helped Davis stand up as well while Victor helped Ethan, carrying him in his arms." Ethan, what were you doing? " He asked his son and Ethan stared at Maya first before looking back at Victor." After you left, mummy said we should follow you and listen to what you were going to say to grandma. I followed her because I wanted to know if grandma will forgive you or not. She said I should not tell you because you will get angry at us, " he confessed and Victor raised his head to look at Maya who was sneering at his son." That sly pup, he would prefer to betray me just to get on his father's good side, " she muttered audibly, making sure that Ethan couldn't hear her." What about you, Davis? " Carissa chipped in and Victor turned to face Davis who raised his hands in defense." I never had thoughts of
