Evans' POV

The world turned blur to my vision as I stood at the centre of the grand hall, my body numb, my mind reeling in disbelief.

This was the point. The moment that would break me forever.

Kian’s words still resonating in my ears, cutting deeper than two edeged sword.

“And you can use the door. Excuse us, your kind isn't meant to be here. Continue serving our guests.” he said with a tone of confidence as he fluttered his arms on Amelia's waist.

It dawned on me. It wasn't just rejection. It was erasure. A declaration that I was a nobody—a non-existing being that had no place in this world.

Liesendra whimpered, her pain folding into mine. The bond that had connected both I and Kian, weak as it had always been, was now shattering strand by strand. I could feel it breaking, pulling at my soul with sharp, gut-squeezing agony.

I clenched my fists, nails biting into my palms.

He had to feel this too. He had to.

I lifted my gaze to him, hoping and holding on to the alter of restoration—praying to see even a snippet of hesitation.

But Kian’s look was a reflection of indifference.

I swallowed, my throat turning soar. “So you don't care?” My quivering voice barely above a whisper. “You act defiant to the bond we share, Kian?”

For the briefest moment, something flickered in his golden eyes. A hesitation. A second where I thought—**hoped**—he might take it back.

Then it was gone.

His expression hardened. “I don’t, dear.”

The conclusive tone of his response stole the air from my lungs.

Liesendra whimpered with a statement I could never expect from him. “Say it, Evans. End it once and for all.”

I forced my gaze up, stopping the tears that cascaded down my cheek. “Then I, Evans Blackthorn, accept your rejection.”

The moment the words left my lips, I felt it.

A violent, throbbing pain ravaged in my chest as the mate bond shattered completely. It clawed deep inside me, sending out every bit of wamth and replacing it with an unbearable hollowness. My knees shaked involuntarily, but I refused to fall.

Across from me, Kian sucked in a sharp breath, his hand holding his chest as if trying to maintain balance. His wolf, Zoren, let out a guttural growl of agony, his body trembling from the shatterd bond that we once shared.

For a flick second, I saw pain swirl across Kian’s face. Real pain. His lips tugging as though there was something he intend on letting out.

Then he clenched his jaw, trying not to show the pain that ravaged deep inside of him as he walked away.

I felt myself break all over again.

He left. Just like that.

And I was left alone.

The murmurs around me were a distant resonation, a cruel symphony of judgment.

“Her destiny is laced with pain.”

“She was never fated to be Luna.”

“Pathetic!”

Their words cut into my skin, each one another weight pressing me deeper into the abyss of my reeling, painful thoughts.

Then a slow clap cut through the whispers.

Amelia.

She moved forward, her emerald eyes piercing with unrestrained glamour. She was gleaming—radiant in my ruin–her smile so venomous that it felt like death on my tongue.

“Bravo, Evans,” she said, clapping as she moved closer to me. “That was quite the performance. So horrific. So predictable.”

My pulse racing violently.

She leaned in, her lips brushing the shell of my ear as she whispered in a low husky tone, “If you try to stay anywhere close to Kian after what you displayed minutes ago, I will ensure I make your existence worst than death itself.”

I wanted to snap back, to tell her of my less concern, but I could seldomly breathe, let alone retaliate.

I turned and ran.

I didn’t know where I was going. I just knew I needed to go somewhere lonely.

I couldn't clearly remember making it back to my room.

The moment the door shut behind me, my body crumpled, my knees hitting the hard floor as tears followed, streaming down my cheeks. A strangled sob tore from my throat as I pressed my forehead against the cool wooden planks.

“Moon Goddess, why?” My voice cracked, raw and broken. “Why did this happen to me?”

The reply was the thick silence in my room.

The Moon Goddess had turned her back on me, just as everyone else had.

Liesendra curled into herself, her whimpers reverberating through my mind.

“I was meant to be loved. Now at the age of finding the love of my life.”

More tears burned hot trails down my cheeks as I clenched my hands into fists.

No.

I would not let this get into me.

I had already lost alot. My parents. My dignity and pride in this pack. My mate.

They had taken all I cherished.

What else was left for them to take?

********

The rejection was meant to grant me freedom, but instead, it became another chain tied around my throat.

Chief Kim, the enforcer of the pack, ensured I went through hell.

“You day dreamer, the high time you come to the realization of you not being Luna, the better for you,” she sneered. “You never deserved it in the first place.” She spat.

My body ached from endless chores, my hands blistered from scrubbing floors, and my stomach twisted in hunger as my rations dwindled.

Amelia had taken control of my salary.

“A Luna must manage the pack’s finances,” Kim said sweetly, smirking as she pocketed the coins meant to sustain me.

Kian?

He was nowhere.

I caught glimpses of him at gatherings, standing tall beside Amelia, his face unreadable. He never looked at me. Never acknowledged I existed.

It was as if I had become a ghost in my own home.

Until the night the rogues came.

A chilling howl shattered the air.

I froze, my hands gripping a basin of water as the sound rippled down my spine like ice.

The second howl was closer.

Then the loud noise began.

Chaos filled the packhouse as warriors assembled for defence. My eyes fixed on Kian as he shifted into his massive, handsome wolf form, his glowing purple fur that reflected the moonlight rays. He was a force of destruction, having his dorminace on the rogues.

I should have run.

I should have hidden.

But I stood there, befuddled, watching as the battle went on before me.

A rogue broke past the defenses, his eyes locking onto me with an eerie smirk that I couldn't yet fathom.

Liesendra growled. “Shift. Fight.”

But it dawned on me.

I was weak.

Too weak.

The rogue lunged—

A large figure lunged at him mid-air, sending the rogue flying into a nearby oak tree with a painful growl.

I barely registered the others retreating before I felt someone’s gaze on me.

Alpha Kian.

He stood a few metres from me, his wolf breathing heavily as he shot me a cold look. For the very first time since the rejection, I saw something unreadable in them.

A flicker of something raw.

Then—

“My Alpha, we found something familiarly strange.”

A warrior dragged a rogue forward. His face was bruised as blood suffused all over his face from the beatings of the warriors, his lip curled into a smirk.

“We found this material on him,” the warrior announced, holding up a torn piece of cloth.

A piece of my clothing.

My stomach churned. “No. No, this isn't real…” I muttered.

The warriors tone sounding cold. “After further interrogation, he confessed that he was under the orders of someone laced with the pack.”

A suffocating silence.

Kian’s voice was razor-sharp. “And who must that be?”

The warrior hesitated before speaking.

“Evans Blackthorn.”

A sudden cacophonous loud gasp cut through the silent air.

I lost breathe for a moment.

Kian turned to me. His golden eyes, once filled with warmth, now burned with cold fury as though to tear me apart.

Amelia stepped closer, whispering something to him.

His expression turned more cold and primal.

“I, Kian Silverstein, banish you, Evans Blackthorn, forever. For treason against the Dawnshade Pack.”

The words slammed into me, stealing the last remnants of my strength.

I had nothing left.

No family. No mate. No home.

“Please my Alpha, I have no where to go. This is my only habitat.” I said, as I kneeled in front of him, my hands clenched to the hem of his cloak.

“I don't care. There is no place for a devil in sheep clothing in my pack.” his voice stern and sharp. “Now leave immediately before the warriors do that for you.”

The only face I could rest my eyes on were the cold smirk that tugged at Amelia's lips. "Leave." Her lips moving with no audible pitch as she gestured with her fingers.

Without a word, I turned, my heels in fast motion as what I was muffled to was the parched leaves beneath my feet, the trees moving in the same speed with my legs at the side of my vision, trying to control the dam of tears that had formed in my eyes as I made my way deep into the forest.

Into the darkness.

And straight into the arms of fate.

KIERAN’S POVThe rhythmic scratching of my pen on the paper was the only thing that hung on the room’s silence when the door burst open. My Gamma Ferdinand, rushed in, his breaths gasping in quick not to escape from his lungs. My grip on the pen tightened in what looked like fear at the unexpected intrusion. Ferdinand had never been one to act without a cause.“What is the problem?” I asked, my voice cool but firm.He pressed a hand against my wooden office desk trying to catch his already escaped breath. “Rogues. We found them at the borders of the pack.” A cold sensation swirled thrugh my chest. The last time we had rogue invasion sent Alpha Silver to his current state if paralysis. We couldn't afford another attack, not when our enemies were watching for a flick moment of weakness.“Prepare the warriors for a patrol,” I ordered, rising from my sit. Ferdinand nodded, and within minutes, we were already shifting to oir wolves. I led the patrol team into the thick woods that serve

I froze at his words, my fingers growing sweaty as I clenched at the bedsheet that belonged to the bed I was sitting on. The tension seemed like it was on the verge of its break. My heartbeat racing in speed against my ribcage as someone who I thought would be my savior was now acting like a brute.“Don’t tell me to shut up, Kieran.” I said, with the last ounce of confidence that suffused my mind.“How dare you talk to me in that manner.” His stern tone echoed as I felt the collision of his palms on my cheeks, heavy which sent me sprawling on the floor. I swung my hands to my cheek, trying to hold the tears from having its way on my face to prove my vulnerability.“You are a brute, Kieran.” I

But when the scout kept sprawling on the ground below me, his breath running escaping gasps as his eyes rippled with panic, I knew for sure that all wasn't alright.“Beta. Beta….” His words caught in his throat.“What is it? Calm down and talk to me,” I exclaimed, trying to hide the panic that had already started growing deep inside me.“Beta Kieran,” he rasped, bending over to hold the remaining breath in his lungs. “We found something near the western border.”The words sent a shot of jolt down my spine, making me uneasy. I wiped the already forming sweat on my forehead and nodded sharply, signalling for him to continue.“The route to the Nightclaw pack,” he said. “Deep, large footprints. Fresh. And something that doesn't look like rogues. There's something eerie about them.”The thought of Alpha Chris’s paralysis flashed through my mind. Our strong and fierce Alpha who became par

I could sense it pressing against my delicate skin, a suffocating weight that made my heart throb behind my ribcage. Kieran's towering presence could only add to it, his eyes locked into mine that reflected something unreadable and dark.“What are you doing here?” I asked, my tone resonating sharper than I intended. He had barged into the hut as though he had the right to thwart the processing peace I was trying to build. His sharp jaws clenched. “I'm not here for your games. I am here for serious business.”“The Mister is here for serious business. Interesting.” I scoffed inwardly. That had been his excuse. • The Omega's Redemption.   Chapter 64: The Eclipse King's Return

Evans PovTension permeated the war chamber's atmosphere. The weight of the revelation seemed to descend upon us like an unbreakable storm cloud, and the walls, adorned with faded banners and old maps, appeared to close in. Standing in the middle, Lucien's glittering eyes were piercing with power. Even though he was always an imposing presence, there was something about his posture today that seemed different—tense, cautious, as though even he wasn't sure how to say the words that would make all the difference. Briony's face next him was unreadable. She had always been hard to figure out, a lady who kept secrets like weapons and was selective about when and how to reveal them. They had both decided to share one of the most deadly realities of all tonight. With a calm but foreboding tone, Lucien started, "The return of the Eclipse King is not merely a possibility." "It is unavoidable." I tightened my jaw. "And what does that mean exactly?" Briony remarked, her emerald ey

Evans povThe night was restless and long. The cool air cooled my perspiration as I sat by the open window with my fingers locked around the material of my cloak. Shadows flashed and danced like ghosts of the past as the moon's silver light spilled across the wooden floor. Or perhaps future ghosts. The mark that connected me to Draven was still there on my wrist, a dull, pulsating warmth. I could have ignored it at first because it had started off as a whisper of heat. However, it now burnt like a brand, telling me that I was selected by fate with each heartbeat. Fate. That was a word I detested. I had fought my entire life against the expectations of who I should be and what other people wanted me to be. Yet here I was once more, imprisoned by an unseen force from which I was powerless to free myself. I wouldn't give up, though. I had made up my mind. Kieran. Love, devotion, and guilt were among the feelings that rushed through me at the mere mention of his n

  • The Omega's Redemption.   Chapter 62: Fractured Bonds

Evans’ POV Prophecy weighed me down like a noose, getting tighter every second. It was evident in the way Kieran's gaze pierced me, probing, asking, and requesting something I was unable to provide. The revelation had broken him, and the stillness that followed was more agonising than any charges that were yelled. With the fire in the hearth flickering wildly as though it, too, could sense the storm building inside Kieran, the room was filled with the smell of cold iron and burning wood. He had his arms folded across his chest, his broad shoulders rigid, and his palms so firmly clenched that I thought I could hear the slight crack of his bones under strain. At last, he muttered, "You don't believe this," in a low, controlled voice that had a hint of desperation and sharpness beneath the surface. I took a deep breath. I was unwilling to accept it. Even though the name Draven seemed like poison to me, his presence had become entrenched in my thoughts, fantasies, and sense of self. I

  • The Omega's Redemption.   Chapter 61: The Doppelgänger’s Claim

Kieran’s POV The battlefield was a graveyard of silence. The Eclipse warriors had vanished as if they had never been there, leaving only the scent of blood and death in the air. My chest heaved as I struggled to regain control over my body, my limbs still weak from whatever power Draven—the Eclipse King—had been used against me. But it wasn’t the pain that burned through me the most. It were his words. *You were never meant to be her mate.* *She belongs to me.* Every word from Draven dropping as though I was a baby without any words. With anger burning through me like wildfire, my hands balled into fists. That someone had the audacity to claim Evans still made my wolf growl in defiance. My friend. Except... I looked over at her. She was still there. She was motionless as she gazed at the location where Draven had vanished. The odd glow of the symbol on her wrist was still there, pulsing. I could see how her breath caught in irregular gasps and how her fingers trembled be

Evans’ POVLike a death omen, the smell of blood and burning permeated the air. Far away, screams rang out, a clamor of anger, suffering, and conflict. I was in the center of it all, my body throbbing with energy I had never really released before, my pulse thumping in my ears. The battlefield was filled with the clash of steel and the snarls of nightclaw warriors as they engaged the intruders. This time, there were more members of the Eclipse Coven, and they moved and attacked with precision. Their purpose was to take me, not to destroy. I wouldn't allow it. With his claws shining in the moonlight and his teeth exposed, a rogue sprang at me. Before I could think, instinct took over and my body moved. His claws just missed my throat as I sank low, feeling the rush of air. I spun and rammed my palm into his chest with a burst of sheer power. My contact sent him flying backwards like a shockwave. His body went limp as he hit the ground with a terrible snap. I stared at my

Kieran’s POV As I paced outside the Nightclaw council chamber, the air was heavy with the smell of moist ground and burning wood. Within, the elders discussed the outcome of Evans' trial in quiet tones, which were a mixture of fear and respect. I balled my fists. Beneath my flesh, my wolf skulked, restless and uncomfortable. Evans had gone through the sacred ordeal, and I had seen her stumble through images that made her relive her worst nightmares. She had seen me standing over her body at the conclusion of it. When she came out, her mark throbbing on her wrist, her breathing ragged, her eyes locked onto mine. The unspoken words between us had been more powerful than any blade, even yet she had remained silent. Did I really have to betray her? The doors of the chamber creaked open, and the Nightclaw Alpha, Cedric, stepped out first, his face carved from stone. His piercing golden eyes locked onto mine, unreadable. Behind him, Briony and the other elders followed, their exp

Evans’ POVThere was no request for the trial. It was a request. A statement from the Eastern Shadow Pack that I had to prove myself to them, to the wolves who still didn't believe me, to the world. I felt the weight of history crushing down on me, my fingers twitching involuntarily as I stood in the center of the sacred clearing, surrounded by warriors who had either stood in mute defiance or bowed in allegiance. I was more than Evans Blackthorn. I was now a divine. She still didn't realize that I was the girl with the mark of the Moon Goddess and the awakened powers. The person whose name had started to whisper in the wind like a prophecy that was about to come true. They were frightened by that. • The Omega's Redemption.   Chapter 56: A kingdom in Ashes

Evans’ POVEverything around me was on fire. The moonlight was suffocated by thick smoke that twisted into black serpents and clawed at the sky. The smell of burnt flesh, blood-soaked dirt, and death filled the air. In the distance, flames blazed, devouring the remains of pack homes, villages, and holy places. In the middle of it all was me. Not as a rescuer. But as a leader. Thousands of wolves knelt in front of me, their throats exposed and heads bent in surrender. The golden flame of my mark—a fiery symbol that pulsed on my wrist, giving me supernatural strength—was reflected in their eyes, which were sparkling with both loyalty and terror. On my head, a crown of onyx and silver held the weight of complete control. My pulse was an extension of the battleground in front of me, and my heart thumped like a war drum. Then I caught sight of them. Kieran's soldiers, the fallen were scattered among the kneeling wolves. The elders of Nightclaw. The pack that protected me
