Back in the palace, prior to this present moment, Lyne had watched as Zeidan played with Aurora and it made her laugh. If anything, she was glad Aurora was able to see her father and that joy seemed to have cured Zeidan somehow. He now seemed suddenly agile. Zeidan returned to where he sat before Aurora came in to interrupt the Good Thing they had going on with Aurora still in his arms as he did so.

“I remember the good old days Lyne,” Zeidan said glancing at her with a smile on his face shortly after sitting down beside her.

“When things used to be very peaceful and all we did was fight about having a baby.” They both chuckled and looked at Aurora.

“She’s beautiful.” He said with a tone of sincerity. He turned his gaze back to Lyne.

“I still remember our old objective to capture who killed the Manager, Tina….”

“Samantha….” Zeidan said raising his head and gazing at the ceiling as he completed Lyne’s statement. Lyne gave a weak smile.

“The death of Tina was painful. And I still wan

Lyne opened her wardrobe. She scaled through her clothes and picked a black silk gown. The death of Chloe was disheartening and it was more painful to know she had been planning with Shelbrooke all along. Chloe’s body had been cremated and put in an urn. After this, she was buried.Zeidan has not said much to her about the whole incident as he was rather still bitter about what had happened. She had also decided not to bother him about it either. Perhaps he needed a little time to get over it. She however concluded that everything and everyone that is in the palace or around it needs to be monitored closely. Now, all dressed up, she decided to speak to Zeidan about his health. She checked herself one last time in the mirror before leaving her room. Zeidan had been using the same medication for a while now and there has been no improvement at all regarding his illness. She met Zeidan in his room seated on the bed.“You look beautiful.” He said as he smiled at her. She blushed.“Thank y

Having heard Zeidan’s decree to have her arrested and prosecuted, Luana could not go back to the palace and she decided to return to Shelbrooke as there was no better place for her to go. Somehow, she was fortunate not to have been in the palace when they got to find out the truth about her, whose side she was truly on, and how she had been poisoning Zeidan. What could have followed after that could have been very tragic. Things have been going on smoothly until Lyne showed up. The hatred she possessed for Lyne was now so great. Right from the moment Lyne stepped back into the palace, she knew she needed to be very careful. All that she dreamt of achieving was all gone, well not totally gone anyway. Perhaps, she should have killed Zeidan when she had the chance. But people would have noticed and she won’t be able to escape it. There was no turning back now and she could not afford regrets. One good thing now was that Chloe was dead. Facing Maya and Chloe will have been a suicide miss

As Zeidan lay there on his bed, he could feel the peace that seemed to have surrounded the palace. Within weeks of Lyne's return, things had changed for the better. His health had improved after Lyne had somehow suspected something was not quite right about all that was going on in the palace. If only he had listened to Lyne before she went missing back then, perhaps things wouldn't have even gotten this far. She had warned him about Luana and had emphasized the need to arrest Luana and lock her up for all the initial atrocities she had committed. Although it would have been a difficult thing to do owing to her father's status as the chief of army staff, it did not mean he could not get her arrested. He only chose not to push for the arrest. He tried to erase the thoughts of him making Luana the queen before Lyne's arrival. He had been so delusional. He was now feeling better and could do a lot of things he could not do before. There was no doubt about Lyne now, she was his queen and

Zeidan marked off the thick scroll before him, agreeing to make Lyne the Queen of Vampire City. He could hear the chants outside the palace and he knew that the people are gradually getting impatient. They needed to know what was going on and what the next line of action was. Especially since he was recovering already. Unfortunately, Luana had run off, knowing what her fate was.Zeidan tied the cloak around his body and walked outside, stepping majestically. The murmuring died down as he moved closer to address them. "Brave people of the city! Men, women, and even children. I want you to know that all your pains and sorrow have been noted by the King which I'll assure you today, I would have done something about it a long time ago if I knew. Today, marks the beginning of a new era, the start of a new legacy, and the choice of a leader."The people cheered and yelled while he lifted his clenched fist. The curtain lifted and Lyne showed up wearing a white large gown that was off the sho

Pulling her short hair up into a bun, Lyne stared back at her reflection in the mirror. She was a twenty-three years old mother of one with golden hair, blue eyes, and a curvy body. She moved sideways to check her butts and she chuckled at her silliness of checking how she had grown those past years. Memories of how she had given birth to Aurora came rushing through her mind and she smiled. She had been scared at first as the pain came. She began to panic and at some point, she felt she was going to die or worse lose her baby because she is unaware of what to do exactly.Lyne rubbed her stomach and flashed back to the hospital. Holding the little human covered in red and the cutest thing she had ever seen. She was overwhelmed with joy and excitement and for that moment, she forgot all her pains and sorrow. The fact that she had endured a lot was washed down the drain as she held her newborn baby. Kissing her forehead as she cried, her tiny hands folded tightly. When Dan and Marianne

After numerous outbursts that served as evidence of reaching a climax between the couples, Zeidan finally rolled back to his bed, kissing Lyne who hasn't had enough of him but they needed to rest as this was the third time. "Oh my god! I haven't felt this way since I left."Lyne turned to look at him as he confessed, raising a brow."What about Luana?""Luana?" He laughed. "Really? Having sex with Luana was more of like consolation and I hardly feel what I'm doing. I mean, I can count how many times we have been intimate. Like," he looked up in a bid to remember. "Five? Six?""But you enjoyed each moment."Zeidan looked at her from the corner of his eyes."You want me to mention how it all went? The first one, I happened to be drunk, so I don't know how it all went. The second one was in the chamber room. The third one was in the Kitchen...""Huh huh huh huh!" Lyne covered her ears. "Say no more! Say no more!""You...you wanted to hear." He stayed meekly but Lyne knew he wasn't at al

The smoke that puffed out of his mouth cleared and his face was visible behind the stick of cigarette he had in his mouth. He removed his hat and placed it on his office table, sitting up to look at the boy they brought in. He had light brown hair and took his father's green eyes. How Zeidan had been stupid enough to believe this was his child still amused him. Luana stood behind him, arms folded and Reyns sat down on a chair across the room, ruminating on what to do."We must let him suffer." Reyns blurted out after a moment of silence."This is stupid." Shelbrooke spat, crushing the cigarette and dumping it in the ashtray. "Why?" Luana asked."Why didn't you kidnap Lyne's daughter instead of him?" He asked, looking from his man to Luana who rolled her eyes."Lyne.""Yes, Lyne." Reyns chipped in."She is one hell of a trouble and I'm not ready to fall into one of her...""To hell with you both!" Shelbrooke thundered, standing up from his chair."To hell with you and your lackadaisic

The window clicked shut as Lyne sat crunched on the bed against its frame, tucked in the bedsheets. The smell of freshly cooked meal lay on the table before her but she just lost interest in eating anything. Zeidan sighed and came to sit beside her."I think I now know why Gabe was missing," Zeidan muttered and she looked at him."Why?" Lyne asked as she brushed a strand of hair from her face. "I don't think there are other reasons apart from kidnapping Gabe to hurt you. Or that we have several other spies in the palace that needs to be fished out.""But you heard him. He said I'm not the Father of Gabe. That means, if they know that someone was after their son's life, they would surely come to take him themselves for safety. Dean must have threatened to kill their son and they came to take him.""If that is so, then someone must have helped them to kidnap or take Gabe to them, right?""Right." He sobered, sitting up. "The perpetrator is still in the palace. The person must be fished

Sometimes when one thinks of the past, moving forward to the future seems hard for them. Every night, Dad would always come to tell me tales of how they fought with a magical stone called the Onyx. He said it was what brought us together as clans all over the lands, excluding the Werecats. The breeze blew my light brown hair which was slowly bleaching into blonde like my mom's as I kept writing my journal. Although I still haven't believed there was any such thing as magic, I still needed to find out. I jumped down the fence, in my leather top and jacket with boots, my two long swords clasped to my back as I walked back to the training field. I looked at the people fighting and some bowing to me. With pride and elegance, I swerved my hips past the boys, while my four friends followed from each side. Tracy, Eretria, Romena, and Sasha. Two of them were hot blonde chicks in their mid-twenties, while the other two were brunettes. We are the Angel Squad and we rule the United Clan Train

"What's wrong, Lyne?" Zeidan asked looking up at her. She now had strange eyes and he wondered if she still recognizes him. Lyne opened her hand and he could see the Onyx on her palm, green and glowing. But that wasn't the problem. The problem was Lyne's nose bleeding and her eyes returning to normal. His hands quivered and loosened around Luana which made her grab the opportunity and kicked him in the stomach while he tended to it, she kicked him in the face turned, and stabbed his stomach with a knife.Awareness dawned on him as the object sank into him. He looked at Luana with shock and his eyes were getting blurry."You had every chance to be happy with me. But you ruined it all." Luana said and further twisted the knife inside of him, making him scream out.Lyne still lay on the floor, bleeding from her nose. He gasped and was finally released so that he could sit on the floor, weak and helpless. He raised his arm but no help came. "Die, Zeidan. Goodbye." Luana left him with Sh

Lyne looked at Luana, a smile curving her lips as she resolved to fight with all her might no matter how good she may be at magic. Or using the Onyx, but she sure is good with her claws. She stretched her fingers, eyes intent on Luana whose black eyes were also fixed on her. As they both snarled at each other, they also did the same with the charge and attack. Lyne swooshed her claws at Luana's face which she moved slightly backward to avoid and in turn twirled on her heels and hit her stomach with her knee. She bent and held on to her stomach as she felt the sharpness but only for a while before she was back on her feet. Luana threw a punch from the left to the right side which she dodged and grabbed her wrist, then right to the left and she grabbed the second wrist too, then holding both wrists captive, Lyne hit her forehead with hers, not minding the resounding bang she felt. Luana cried out and she released her so she could nurse her bleeding forehead. "You bastard!" Luana swo

With blazing eyes and a torn-apart soul, Lyne glared at Luana and the stone in her hand. "You know, if I were you, as a mother who has empathy for her daughter," Luana began to say as she walked in circles around Lyne. "I'd dive into that water and save my baby." Lyne looked back at her daughter who was still afloat, her tiny arms unable to hold her on the surface for long. "You may have won this time but not next time," Lyne hissed, looking into Luana's eyeball. "And that next time is soon."With that, she jumped into the water and swam her way to her daughter, arms and legs fluttering the strong current. She grabbed her daughter by the waist and held her tight to her body, swimming back to the shore. She climbed back to the surface and bent to check her daughter who sat on the floor, weak. "My baby." She muttered, hands running over Aurora's face and body. "Are you okay?" Aurora breathed heavily. Lyne felt guilty. She was the reason her daughter passed through all these. If she

Shelbrooke was too engrossed in staring at Lyne that he was unaware when Zeidan turned and grabbed his ankle making him fall. As Reyns moved to attack him, Zeidan grabbed his spear on the floor and pointed it at Reyns who chuckled and drew out his long swords."I'm sorry that you got played not once but twice, Zeidan. However, we can't blame you but the bitch that always thought she saw the good in you." Reyns said as they turned to the center of the field, each of them stretching their weapons at the other."I didn't ask her to find the good in me. I was already good to myself." Zeidan replied, his eyes not leaving Reyns and his swords."Then, it's obvious, you had her under your magical spell. Once we have the Onyx, I'll have the power to break that stupid spell you placed on her." Zeidan huffed. "Admit it. You like her and you're just afraid that she'll reject you if you let your true intention known." The other man held on tightly to his swords now stepping forward. "That's neve

Amber and Effinton stood gallant in front of Lyne and Zeidan, already in their fighting wear. Amber was placed as leader of the archery team since Chloe had died. She was also as good as the former leader, which makes it a win-win situation. Effinton also wore his black leather suit and pants with his boot heels. They all stood at the council table, all focused on the map before them."We need to come up with a better strategy than before. A unique one that will disassemble pure enemies before they even get closer to the field that separates Vampire city from the rest of the clans." Effinton spoke up and Zeidan nodded."You're right. But what do we come up with? We have exhausted the rest of our strategies on past wars." Zeidan replied but Lyne was seeing a different thing."Maybe we don't need a new strategy but ones we have used before and can put together to fight. They won't know what hits them by the time we strike.""I think the Queen is right," Amber spoke up, pointing to a sm

Shelbrooke moved forward, his steps cautious. The rest of the team geared up, some of them suddenly shifting. Luana let out her claws and Lyne snarled at them, her strong sharp teeth revealed. "I must say I'm quite amassed by your bravery and confidence. I mean, you even managed to come into his den." Luana said, walking behind Shelbrooke, her eyes turning black."Don't tell me you're thinking about lifting a finger because I won't hesitate to draw life out of you." Lyne threatened, gritting her teeth. Shelbrooke roared, his voice booming in the cave."You lose girl." He snorted and rushed towards her. Lyne jumped up and landed behind them, turning sharply when she heard Shelbrooke order the others. "Let her be guys. I know how to handle her." She snarled at him, eyes catching her father's body from the corner of her eyes. "Bring it on." Shelbrooke hopped on her but she turned sharply and hit him head-on, her teeth sinking into his neck. A painful cat cry pierced the cave and he

Lyne received the letter from Amber, tore off the pin that held them together, and read it. When she was done, she looked back at Zeidan who stood behind her. His men were busy clearing the palace but when he saw the look in her eyes, he ordered for the both of them to be left alone. When they had gone, Zeidan moved close to her."What does it say?" He asked and she raised her blue gaze at him."They want me to come to South Park."He frowned. Yes, news reached them about Lyne's arrival but why would they need her to come to visit them? He had thought Styx would come to visit her. Perhaps, he didn't try to because he doesn't care any longer or he thought it was fake news."Why?""It says here that they want me to become the Alpha.""For South Park?"Lyne nodded but she still has worry written all over her face. She should be happy about it."This is unusual. Charles wasn't supposed to like this. He had been clamoring for that position for as long as I can remember. He should get it a

Maya exhaled audibly as she stared at the body of the man she had just finished killing. Before her, bodies lay on the floor and she could see Shelbrooke and Reyns looking at her in admiration. "I have a request to make, however," Shelbrooke said and she glanced at him."What request?" She asked still shaken from the fight. This was weird. She never gets weak, no matter how many people she kills, but then it dawned on her. Her time is up. "Remove your cover," Shelbrooke said."What?" Maya exclaimed."We need to see your face." Reyns chipped in and she felt all their gazes on her at once. What was the point? She had been hiding her face for a long while and her time is almost up. She touched the edge of the fabric, looking up at Shelbrooke. Images of what had happened the other day came rushing back. The grounds shook and it was daytime already. No one could go to the surface to survive the blast as the sun was up. Going to the surface at that time would only cause their death, fast
