I look at Ford as soon as he walks into the conference room. I haven’t even tried to talk to anyone after I contacted Wyatt about Fiona earlier, but clearly something has happened.
Charles and Edward smile and stand up. As they walk around the table towards Ford, Charles chimes, “Welcome to our company. I’m so glad to meet another individual from your company. I’m Charles King, the owner of King Enterprises.” He extends his hand.
Ford smiles and walks towards him. However, the smile doesn’t reach Ford’s eyes as he shakes Charles’ hand. “I’m glad to meet you too, Mr. King. I’m Ford, one of the vice presidents in the company.”
A smirk quickly appears on my face, but I hide it just as quick. We don’t have formal titles in our company, but when we meet representatives from other companies, we often just say that we are a VP.
What happened? There can’t be anything wrong with Wyatt. There just can’t be. He isn’t supposed to get sick.I ignore the people trying to speak to me while I run past them. Normally, I’m not this rude, but this can’t be happening. I have to get to him. I have to see what is wrong with him.Mentally, I apologize to everyone as I push through. However, I can’t seem to open my mouth. If I do, I’m afraid nothing will come out or only my sobs.My feet move even faster as I see the hospital come into view.I can’t fight back the tears anymore as they begin to slowly slide down my face. For the first time since I found out Wyatt is in the hospital and is unconscious, my voice finally works. While I try to control the pain, I shout, “WYATT!”As if I have flipped a switch, everyone who has previously been walking i
I still can’t believe I’m actually going to a pack house. My wolf seems happy, but I’m still not sure if they are people I can trust. I have been through so much in my life so far that I don’t know if I have the courage to try and trust someone or another pack again.I should have been able to trust my parent’s pack, but I was sadly mistaken. They didn’t have any issues with female betas, but since I’m an omega, they thought I was cursed and would bring trouble to the pack. I have never figured out how being an omega would bring trouble to the pack, but they believe it, and that is all that matters.I glance forward at Bridget and then Ford, who are sitting in the front seat, while I sink further down into the back seat of the vehicle.Bridget seems really nice. I still can’t believe that she is also an omega. This is the first time I have met another omega.&nbs
Well, I’m a little farther ahead now. I have descriptions of the two werewolves. One is a female with long red hair and the other one is a male with short, dark brown hair. Well, I really don’t need the description because I can smell them. However, I don’t know which one is my mate. I think I will have to see them face to face.Unfortunately, when I have asked Ford about his mate’s pull when Bridget was at the pack house, he says that he was pulled towards her even before he saw her. But that isn’t what is happening to me. Yes, the scent of that alluring coffee is beckoning me to follow, but I’m not being pulled. There is something wrong. I can just feel it.I sigh as I look at the King Enterprises building. I have the unfortunate pleasure of spending another whole day with Charles and Edward, trying to hammer out the details of the contract. This i
“Katelyn. Yeah, Katelyn. You need to wake up.”I can faintly hear the words, but my mind doesn’t register what they are saying. However, I can’t ignore the shaking of my shoulder. Ugh. I’m having such a nice dream.I slowly flutter my eyes open and huff, “Stop it! I’m waking up!”As I finally open my eyes and the room comes into focus, the first thing I see is Bridget’s smiling face in front of me.However, when I move, pain shoots through my body from laying awkwardly on the hospital bed. Wait. Hospital bed.My smile quickly fades as I remember why I’m sleeping in the hospital. My eyes instantly dart to the person still lying motionless on the bed. Wyatt. My heart aches seeing him still not moving. I don’t know if I’ll be able to handle not talking to him for weeks. It hasn’t even
Is this real? I have never heard about werewolves having abilities before.Granted, I have been ignored and thrown out of my pack, but what I do remember from back then is that they said nothing about werewolves being able to have abilities. However, if Alpha Wyatt’s pack has been hiding for all these years, there must be a reason. Plus, Bridget seems genuine. From what I can tell, she doesn’t appear to be lying to me, but this is just too much to believe. If I was taught wrong about these abilities, what other things are being taught incorrectly to werewolves. Well, I guess I will find out soon, since I have agreed to join the Sun Moon pack. However, I have to wait until Alpha Wyatt is healthy again. He is needed for the ceremony, so I guess that I’ll have a little time to adjust to all this new information and to find out what else I’ve been told wrong throughout all these years.
Mason sits on his bed in the hotel with his back resting against the headboard as he stares at his laptop on his lap. His eyes linger on the CCTV picture and the mark on his mate’s beautiful neck. That jerk has marked his mate. It has been a couple days since he has found his mate, but instead of joy, his blood boils and anger pulses through his veins. His mate has been taken from him and he didn’t have a chance to fight for her. His mind can’t stop asking how could this have happened and why she would do that, but deep down, he isn’t sure he really wants to know. However, this explains why his wolf is drawn to his mate’s scent, but at the same time the pull isn’t really there. His mate is already marked by someone else. A lone tear falls down his cheek as his wolf whimpers. This is not how he has wanted this to end. Wasn’t he supposed to find his mate and claim her? Maybe what the Supreme El
Little jolts of electricity shoot through my fingers. However, I don’t have to open my eyes to know what is causing this.I flutter my eyes open and look down at my hand. There she is, Katelyn. Her head is peacefully resting on the bed with her face tilted towards me while her hand is wrapped around mine. Her silky long brown hair is draped across her shoulders. Several strands have fallen forward and frame her gorgeous face. A smile instantly appears on my face as I continue to look lovingly at her. I can’t help but to wonder if she has figured out that I’m her new mate. I hope she has. My wolf jumps around in my head excitedly at both the thought of claiming her and the fact that she is our new mate.I must have done something good in my previous life for the Moon Goddess to be so generous to me.Dr. Bright walks into the room and looks at me. A smile appear
Well, I have talked with the doctor, and he isn’t much help. He has reviewed my test results again and says that there wasn’t anything off in any of them. His best suggestion is to go back to my room and rest. Maybe in the morning, my throat won’t be so dry. Reluctantly, I follow the doctor’s advice and go to bed shortly after getting back to my apartment. I feel bad because I want to sit up and talk with Fiona to get to know her a little bit, but I can’t. The longer the night drags on, the drier my throat gets. I have drunk glass after glass of water and juice, but nothing seems to help. I’m hoping a good night’s sleep will do the trick. I drag my feet as I head towards my bedroom. Besides talking with Fiona, I really want to spend more time with Katelyn. Not only my wolf, but I also get excited when she is around. All she has to do to brighten my day is to smile at me. That one smile can instan
Katelyn POV I walk across my bedroom to the crib. Even though the baby is crying, and you can’t hear anything except him, I smile as I stop at the edge. Our first born and the next alpha to the Sun Moon pack. My pride and joy. I lean over the edge of the crib and softly coo, “Are you mad, Max? You can’t be hungry. You just had your milk.” I gently pick him up from the crib and begin to sway back and forth, while cradling my son in my arms. “Hush, baby. You need to rest. You have to grow up to be big and strong.” However, Max continues to cry. Knock. Knock. Still swaying back and forth, I glance up at the door. “Come in.” The door opens and Fiona pokes her head into the bedroom. “Uhm, you can’t get him to calm down again?” I slowly shake my head. She steps into the bedroom. “Do you want me to help?
I breathe a sigh of relief at seeing Alpha Marcus lying motionless on the ground. However, it is short-lived as I turn and scan the battlefield. My heart aches seeing all the injured and dead werewolves. This didn’t need to get to this point.A faint smile suddenly spreads across my face as my eyes stop at Sammy and Katelyn. Sammy is getting up off the ground and is completely healed. As she stands, she changes from her light tan wolf to Alpha Marcus’ gray wolf.Well, at least she is feeling well enough to use her abilities. That is a good sign.My mate is amazing. My smile slowly fades as my eyes spot Mike, who is staring at Katelyn and Sammy. What is Mike doing? He knows he can never have Katelyn again. Right. My thoughts are interrupted when the Supreme Elder calmly walks out of the trees, along with a few of the other elders, and scans around the open fiel
Mike POVI slowly open my eyes. The bright sun instantly makes me squint and close them again.I’m alive.I thought I was dead.I’m sure that I was being ripped to pieces.I lift my arm to block the bright sun from my eyes as I slowly open them back up. Wait. I thought I was in my wolf form. My wolf!I mentally ask, “Are you still here with me?”My wolf slowly mumbles, “Yeah, but I need to rest.”Oh, that is a relief.I move to sit up, but pain instantly shoots through my entire body. I quickly look down at my body, trying to see how bad the damage is, but I don’t see any. Wait. Where are my injuries?I quickly touch my legs and turn them slightly, but nothing. There isn’t one injury there. My eyes quickly go to my stomach and my chest, as my hands randomly pat that a
I watch from the side of the clearing as Mike goes limp on the battleground. NO!!!I try to run towards him, but Ford’s wolf quickly bites my ear and stops me. Through the mind link, he barks, “Bridget, baby, follow the plan. We know that this could be a possibility if Mike came here, but we can’t stop now. We have to take down Alpha Marcus.”I glance back at Mike, but he is gone. The only wolf laying lifeless on the ground now is Caleb.I slowly nod my head.Through the mind link, I announce, “It is time! Sammy, be careful. Everyone, get into position. Tammy and Fiona, you need to make sure that you focus and only use your powers against Alpha Marcus.”I glance around the battlefield. Again, through my mind link, I make an announcement to all the werewolves, except Alpha Marcus. “The future beta Caleb is dead, along with many others who supp
I bolt through the trees, over the boulders, and around the bushes. I move my feet as fast as I can. With each step, my heart pounds harder as the sound of battle hits my ears. The growls of victory along with the howls of pain stab my heart. This shouldn’t be happening, and it is all because of my father. His sick need to be the most powerful and have everyone bow down to him is too much. It must stop.No wonder my mother isn’t anywhere to be found. I’m sure that she couldn’t handle him either. With that thought running through my mind, I jump into the clearing. The sight that meets me is not something that I have ever wanted to see. Werewolves are everywhere and fighting to the death. The stench of blood and death is in the air.Nearby, several wolves are torn apart laying lifeless in a pool of their own blood on the ground while several other dead werewolves are sc
Wyatt POVKatelyn and I stand on either side of the wounded beta. We take our hands off the beta as he opens his eyes. After shifting back to his human form as we heal him, he looks between my mate and me, before he asks, “What happened? I thought I was going to die.”I shake my head. “Not today. We won’t let that happen.”A faint smile dances across Katelyn’s face. “We brought you back, and we will heal others too, as the battle continues.”Before the beta can ask anymore, I say, “Since you are back, we will go onto the next one.”Katelyn and I stand up and look around the battlefield, while the beta glances between my mate and me. However, we don’t get any rest, as Zee and Scott bring another severely injured warrior from one of our packs. The beta continues to sit and watch us as Katelyn and I take the injured
I burst into the clearing. The growls and howls of battle have been ringing through the forest, but I’m still surprised when I come into the clearing. Not only is Alpha Marcus’ pack here, but all of his allies, along with all of our allies. The clearing is full of werewolves. All of them are fighting with everything that they have. Our first wave of warriors appears from the forest at the same time that Katelyn, Ford, Bridget and I arrive. The plan is to have Katelyn and Bridget stay along the sidelines to use their abilities to locate people and heal them, if needed. The key person who we are trying to locate is Alpha Marcus.I glance around the field. I see a lot of blood and the smell of death is in the air, while fangs and claws continue to fly everywhere, but I’m not seeing Alpha Marcus yet. Before I can ask, Bridget states via the mind link, “Alpha Marcus isn’t here y
Mason POVWyatt has given the signal that things will happen fast now. Alpha Marcus has people trying to find out who is meddling with his allies’ companies. It is only a matter of time now. However, we still will not bring the physical fight to our pack lands. That doesn’t mean that our allies won’t see the war coming to them, though. When Alpha Marcus realizes our pack is behind everything, our allies won’t be safe either.Luckily, we have come up with a plan for that. Donna’s old pack is more than willing to have the physical fight on their pack lands, which is actually the best location. Her former pack’s lands are at the edge of Alpha Marcus’ alliance pack lands. On the other hand, our alliance packs are located practically in a semi-circle around her old pack, which is why it makes perfect sense to have the physical fight there.
Katelyn POV“I said that I’m just tired. There is no need to have the doctor look at me.” I scan the small group of people in my bedroom. Yes. My bedroom.I woke up just a few moments ago to Wyatt, Ford, Bridget and Dr. Bright standing beside the bed. They are all looking down at me, but I honestly don’t have the energy to fight right now. I’m just so tired.Bridget smiles and sits down on the bed next to me. She gently grabs my hands. “Katelyn, I saw the last two puzzle pieces. That is why we are here.”Wyatt huffs, “You still haven’t told me why you brought the doctor with you or who the last two pieces are.”With Bridget still looking at me, she smiles and gently rubs her thumbs against the back of my hands. “Their names are Max and Trish.”Wyatt sighs. “Okay. When are
