My eyes locked with his and cold chills ran down my spine. We weren't close enough for me to see through the bland look in his eyes, but with the way his lips were pursed, I knew that he wasn't pleased.

"Good morning, Elda. I hope you had a great night," I chirped, trying to ease the tension.

He drew in a deep breath and got up from his armchair. "Did you sleep in your room last night?" He asked with a strange low tone.

I tilted my head to the side, throwing an offended look at him. "My room, of course. Where should I have slept?" I shot back with a placid tone.

"I thought the same too, but, surprisingly, you were missing from your room when I came to look for you," He questioned and blood drained from my face.

Even my heart stopped beating for a second.

This wasn't the time to prove his claims by being nervous, but how couldn't I have seen this coming? I thought I had it all under control. Or did he send someone to stalk me?
