Chapter Seventy One - Lost Mark

Kari's POV

I opened my eyes to a beautiful blue sky. The sun was beaming down on me, and I could feel the grass on my skin beneath me. Had the fight all been a dream?

"Hello, my child." I heard from above me. I shifted my head so I could see, and I looked up to see Selene smiling down at me. There was sadness in her eyes. I felt a pang of dread in my chest.

"Am I dead?" I asked.

"No my child, you have Oleander in your system, you are out like a light at the moment, it was the perfect moment to bring you to me." She said as she sat on the grass next to me. I looked around and frowned.

"Where is Hela?" I asked. The last time I came to Selene's home, Hela was there.

"She is fighting the Oleander, it is hard for her. It is going to take her time." Selene said sadly. "I am so sorry for what you are going to endure over the next few days, and I wouldn't normally interfere like this, but they are going to mess with a bond that I have created and I must warn you."

"Warn me? bond? What bond?"
