As I left the hotel premises the reality of what just happened dawned on me. I have just been fired!

I feel like crying, honestly as contrary to the indifferent behavior I had displayed in Mr. Fred's office I desperately need this job. My survival and that of my whole family depends on it. I know I have another night job but both of their incomes combined together barely covers our basic expenses and now I have lost one of the jobs. How will we survive now?

I have no one else to blame but myself. Why couldn't I just get on my knees and apologize to him? Why must I behave so stubbornly? I am so, so, so stupid!

My refusal to go down on my knees was not motivated by pride. I mean I clean people's toilets for a living. What is there to be proud of in that? I did want to go down on my knees and apologize to both of them but there was this deceptive and mischievousness in Liam's eyes when he looked at me that told me it wouldn't have made any difference.
