Chapter 7: Diagnostic & Confusion

Su Lan watched as Dr. Ma checked her pulse.

She looked calm outside but she was already sweating inside.

As a person who hardly ever spoke lies she didn’t know what to do after he found out her poison was already gone.

Dr. Ma: “Eh, why is your poison gone?”

Su Lan with her poker face replied calmly.

Su Lan: “I ate the antidote. I had made it beforehand (Lies without blinking).”

Su Lan (in her mind): One of the good things about my poker face and hardly ever speaking lies is that everyone would believe me even if I did lie. Oh well this counts as a white lie...after all I did have a blessing skill to be immune to all poison. I didn’t really… lie. 

Su Lan brainwashed herself to try to believe it was the truth too. The highest level of lying is to make oneself believe it was the truth! A lie told with half truth and half fake is most believable. 

When Su Lan was spacing out and brainwashing herself she heard Dr Ma’s speech and almost puked blood.

Dr. Ma: “Oh, so this time you were smart enough to make an antidote but still stupid enough to test the poison on yourself, so smart (said sarcastically).” 

Su Lan: (in her mind): This person is looking for a beating! Can’t anything good come out of his mouth! Ever since he came he totally crushed his image just by opening his mouth! He definitely is the type who everyone wants to beat up once he speaks!

Su Lan was right about this point. There are many people who hate Dr. Ma because of his poisonous words. There was even a rumor that an enemy of his got so angry causing them to puke blood and die on the spot. Others because of his high level of medical skill they can only quietly endure him.

Su Lan: (gentle smile): “Dr. Ma, thank you for coming.”

Dr. Ma: (scoffed) "You think I want to come. There is so much work I have to do."

Su Lan: (in her mind): Su Lan you can do this.. calm down.. you can't beat people up. A mini Su Lan already pounding a mini Dr. Ma’s head with a hammer.

Liu Shan: “How is my daughter?”

Dr. Ma: “Her, as strong as an ox. What can be wrong with her except her brain damage. Seems like her poison this time fixed it."

Su Lan: (in her mind): Throws down the hammer and gets her boxing gloves. Already punching him hands on. Jab! Hook! Uppercut!

Liu Shan: (Change back the topic) “So, she is fine?”

Dr. Ma: (stares at Liu Shan like he is an idiot) "Isn't that what I said already."

Liu Shan: (pretends to not notice his looks) "Is there any type of medicine to help her nurture her body from the damage made by the poison?"

Dr. Ma: "Are you deaf or also brain dead? She is fine! She doesn't need any medicine!"

Liu Shan: "But Little Lan was in a coma for three days."

Dr. Ma: "As I said before (emphasize by speaking word for word slowly) as....strong....as....an....ox."

Su Lan: (in her mind): I am a girl!! Don't compare me to an ox! Mini Su Lan jumps up and gives mini Dr. Ma a roundhouse kick.

Su Lan: "Since I am fine, Mango please, show Dr. Ma ...(out)...  to the accounting room to receive his payment. Father, I would like to rest a bit more."

Liu Shan: "Sure, rest well."

Dr. Ma: "Oh please, resting for three days, the last thing she needs is rest. Giving her some food would be better." (Turns and walks out).

Liu Shan: "Mango, get Xiao Lan some congee to eat. I will show Dr. Ma out."

Su Lan: “.....”

After everyone left, Su Lan stared at the wooden ceiling silently crying without tears.

Su Lan: What should I do next in this world? I read many novels of this type of genre but I never wanted to experience it myself !!! 

Su Lan walks back to her bed and plops down not wanting to face reality. 

Su Lan: “All I did was press on a game advertisement. What the heck did this have to happen to me!!!”

Su Lan, who usually had no expression and had a tranquil personality, changed a lot ever since she arrived in this world. Her temper became bigger and became more expressive at least on the inside. 

As Su Lan pondered what she should do next her father was also confused outside in the living room. 

Currently at the living room:

Liu Shan spoke to Dr. Ma.

Liu Shan: "Dr. Ma, my daughter, she is acting weird..."

Dr. Ma: "No, she was weird before this was called normal."

Liu Shan: “.... Dr. Ma, you know how Xiao Lan was before."

Dr. Ma: "A manic, but I heard all geniuses are weird in some way."

Liu Shan: (in his mind): why are you speaking as if you aren't one!

Liu Shan didn't realize he also agreed with Dr. Ma's statement on his daughter.

Liu Shan: "Even if one ate the wrong medicine their personality wouldn't just change like that..."

Dr. Ma: "... maybe she is possessed."

Liu Shan: ".... Dr. Ma, I didn't think you believed in things like that."

Dr. Ma: "sigh... how can I know this world is full of unexplainable things. At least she is more likable than before."

Liu Shan: "My daughter was always likable!!! She is just a bit over obsessed with her interest. Which is understandable since that helps her advance in that area."

Dr.Ma: “Are you trying to convince me or yourself by explaining."

Liu Shan: ".... well can you figure out what is wrong with my Xiao Lan?"

Dr. Ma: "I will go back and look into the medical books for an explanation."

Liu Shan: "Thank you."

Liu Shan walked Dr. Ma out. He stared until at Dr. Ma’s back until he was out of sight.

Liu Shan sighed and turned around. He walked back to his office to work on his high pile of documents.
