Sliver Blood Pack

Craig’s P.O.V

My eyes never left those marks; there could be no way I was wrong about the mark. It was something I had always looked at while studying about the Sliver Blood Pack. I hadn’t met anyone in the pack myself, but I had learnt about every pack since I was the next alpha of the Moon Blood Pack.

“Do you know about this mark?” Her voice sounded urgent now.

Ever since she stepped into this room her heart beat had being high, but it has strangely accelerated, even though she was no longer on the chase.

Finally, I took my eyes off the mark, to stare at the deep brown eyes that looked like I could easily get lost in them. “I might be wrong.”

She moved closer to me. “I know you know about it. You recognized it the moment you saw it.” She tilted her head aside, “Tell me all you know about it.”

I sighed. I couldn’t be bothered about her inquiries. It could only be a mistake; the last member of the pack had died twenty years ago. This lady looked nothing close to twenty, plus she doesn’t have a wolf yet, so there was no way she could be an offspring of the Sliver Blood Pack.

Now knowing she was no danger to me, I moved back to the bed to continue chewing on my nut, but she continued staring at me with deep interest.

“Who are you?” I asked again.

I got this strange feeling from her and felt the need to know who she was. She could be someone my uncle had sent over again to confirm if I was dead. But knowing my uncle, he wouldn’t send someone without a wolf.

I was too much of a threat to him.

Her stomach grumbled in response.

I arched a brow to her and stared at the few nuts on the bed. This was all I am having for tonight, but I thrust one towards her.

She shifted on her leg before finally finding a seat beside me. She collected the nut and murmured a thank you.

As soon as she started chewing, she questioned, “Do you really not recognize that mark?”

Her voice was low, but she couldn’t hide the anxiety behind it. Plus, she couldn’t hide the beating of her heart from me; no one could. I could read people’s emotion through their heartbeat. I could tell if they were nervous, scared, or feeling anxious.

I wasn’t sure, so I asked her to show me the mark again. She didn’t hesitate pulling her dress up to show me the mark. It was a deep black mark that opposed her fair skin, making easy to be seen by anybody. It looked like a map with little stripes on it. There was no mistaking it – it was exactly like the picture I had spent all those years studying.

I was too fascinated seeing it for the first time that I had no idea I was already touching her tight, until I heard a sharp intake of breath, and her heartbeat had changed to nervousness.

I pulled my hand away, “I’m sorry. How did you get this mark?”

She sighed. She was done with the nut, and sat with her legs touching her chin while she wrapped her hand on her leg. I picked up one of my dried cloth and throw it on her. “You should change into something dry before you catch a cold.” I stood up, “I’ll excuse you. Call me when you’re done.”

She nodded.

I turned, stealing a last glance towards her tight before exiting the room.

My nostril was attacked by the moody scent attached to this room. When I found this shed, I had intentionally not tried taking care of this room to make people believe it was empty. I had moved things in a way that the next room won’t be seen by others, so I was surprised when the door had opened suddenly few hours ago.

“I’m done.” Her head popped from the door, and I turned back towards the room.

Once I closed the door behind me, I stopped on my track. My cloth had stopped immediately after her butt, exposing her tight and mark to me. It looked slim and perfect on her that I couldn’t help but stare at her. My wolf seemed to be in agreement as he growled within.

“Can we talk about it now?” her voice snapped me out of my thoughts, and I finally looked at her face.

I nodded, keeping a bit of distance from her. I could tell my wolf wanted her, and it had never happened like this before.

I fisted my hand in a ball, trying to get my wolf to control itself, “How did you get the mark?”

She sighed, “Tonight…” her voice low and sad. “I turned eighteen tonight and was supposed to hold my mating celebration tonight, but suddenly this mark appeared on my tight. It’s said to be a cursed mark.”

I frowned; this doesn’t make sense in any way. It was just as I had read about the Sliver Blood Pack; once they clocked eighteen, that mark appeared on any part of their body. It showed their legitimacy in the pack. They were the only pack with a mark, but again, they were the strongest pack before the sudden extinction twenty years ago.

I rubbed my hand on my eyes, “Have you heard of the Sliver Blood Pack?”

Her face metamorphosed into confusion, “Does a pack like that exist?”

I nodded; I guess she couldn’t have if she was just eighteen. “Twenty years ago, Sliver Blood Pack members were infected by a deadly disease that wiped off all the members. No one knew how the disease came to be or from where, but it had suddenly happen and within few months all the members had died.”

She shook her head, “Are you sure no one survived?”

He nodded, “The pack members were so strong that if any survived the world would know of it.”

She nodded as if she understood him. “So, what does this Sliver Blood Pack had to do with the mark?”

“Oh! I forgot that important part. Every Sliver Blood member has this mark once they turn eighteen.”

It was happening again; her heartbeat accelerated and she could hardly form a sentence as she opened and closed her mouth in a gasped. “You mean this is not a curse?”

Who said anything about it being a curse?

I shook my head. For a moment, she looked relief, before she perked up again.

“Tell me all you know about Sliver Blood Pack.”

Oh Mehn! What have I gotten myself into? But it was a nice change having someone to talk to; I’ve been cooped up in this room alone. I narrated the few things I have read about the pack to her, but there was a limit to what I know about the Pack.

She didn’t say a word all through my narration, and when I was done, she nodded her head. “I know what to do?”

I arched my brow at her; she had this new determination on her face. “What do you plan to do?”

“I’m going to the Sliver Blood Pack abandoned town to see what I can find out about this mark.”
