AVA HAYES

My tears roll down, as Dante groans for the tenth time, his voice weak, unable to contain the pain anymore.

“You bastard!” Sebastian kicks him in the mouth, then roughly rakes his hand through Dante's hair before turning to me.

“Are you sure this is what you want?” He glares, his face darkening as he steps closer to me.

I can't be mated to him.

Noo, this must be a mistake, a big mistake.

This is not fate.

I'm not fated to suffer like this.

“ I’M TALKING TO YOU” he yells, I flinched, my legs trembling so hard.

I sniff and gather my courage to meet his eyes “I said REJECT YOU” I shouts, then break down again.

I'm scared, I'm scared.

I need my father, I need him.

I reject disobeying him.

I reject not listening to him, I shouldn't have tried escaping.

“How dare you raise your voice at me?” He grabs my hair before I can react and slams me against the wall.

“Stop” I hear Dante's weak voice say.

My back screams in pain, like I've been hit with a hammer, I groan and try to stand, every inch of my body burning. Dizziness clouds my head.

“I can kill you” his haunting voice whispers into my ears as I struggle to sit up.

I smirks, knowing fully well, he can't kill me.

“ I'm your mate, you can't kill me” I say, coughing up blood and grinning through the pain.

“ What about your father?”

My heart drops.

“Wait.. what…..what do you..” I stammer as I try to rise.

My heart pounds continually as I watch his expression turn into a smirk.

“You know what I mean,” he says finally.

“Nooo” I scream “leave my family out of this” I plead. Despite the pain, I managed to get on my knees

“Please leave my poor father out of this, pleaseee” I cry, my tears burning my cheeks.

I can't let my father die because of me.

He did absolutely nothing. My heart aches as I imagine his face, remembering the last thing I said to him and how hurtful it was.

Sebastian clears his throat and drops to one knees, right in front of me “It's your choice, mate” he says, lifting my chin up with his finger “ it's either you accept me or…..you bury your father”

The words tear through me like a blade made of iron…..

I glare at him with hatred, it burns through my eyes, I hate him.

I want to spit in his face, my biggest mistake was escaping tonight.

“I hate it when people waste my time,” he scoffed, waiting for my response.

“On one condition” I finally say, lifting my chin up, pulling every ounce of courage from my soul.

“What's that?” he asks curious.

“ You'll let Dante go”

He scoffs “is that what you want? I'll get rid of him for you”

“ALIVE” I growl. “Let him go, alive”

“Done” he says, standing up and brushing off his shirt “Now say it” his eyes motion towards me, demanding I accept him as my mate.

“Not until you release him” I point at Dante who's still lying on the floor, groaning in pain.

He looks between I and Dante, glares at him, before calling the guards “Take him away. Get him some treatment and when you're sure he can walk, throw him out” he commands.

The guards obey, dragging Dante out of the cell.

“Now it's your turn to fulfill your part” Sebastian says, facing me.

I sigh heavily, I never imagined I'd wish for the ground to open up and swallow me whole.

If I could speak to the moon goddess for just a few minutes, I'd ask why she made a terrible mistake choosing him for me.

I'd tell her how much I hate her for destroying the love between Dante and me.

I'd ask her why she gave me the perfect father but a monster for a mate.

“I, AVA HAYES, ACCEPTS YOU, SEBASTIAN WOLFE AS MY MATE” I say through tears, my world crumble down, I feel my soul drowning.

I hate myself.

“Yes!!” He said with enthusiasm and clapping his hands “ Welcome to Crescent Pack my Luna” . He pulls me up roughly and throws his arms around me, hugging me tightly “ I've waited for you for so long” he murmurs.

I feel nothing but disgust, being in his arms makes me loathe my own body.

He pulls back and looks at me “We're having your coronation tomorrow morning”

My heart clenches. “ What about my parents?”

“They'll be invited” he smiles…..and I hate it.

“Lita” he calls

The female guard who held me earlier steps in

“It's 2 am already,” he says, glancing at his wrist watch. “Bathe her, Make her bed. Get her ready for morning, Respect her…she's now your Luna” he ordered.

“Yes, sir” she bows to him, then turns and bows to me.

“You may go, my queen,” he says, signaling to Lita to escort me out.

I follow her as we exit the cell.

We walk through a dark underground tunnel, we finally step outside the tunnel.

A car waits, Lita leads me to it , casting me a disgusting eye, she opens the door for me.

I climb in.

Within seconds, the car zoomed off.

I stare out at the dark, quiet, Crescent pack and it reminds me of home.

By now, my father must have noticed my absence. The guards are probably searching the entire pack for me.

Dante… I hope he's safe.

I didn't even get to say goodbye to him.

A hot tear slid down my cheeks, in just a few hours, my whole life has turned upside down.

Just yesterday, I was yelling at my father, planning an escape with my boyfriend.

Today, I'm being crowned into the most dangerous pack.

I'm not sure I'll ever smile again.

My spirit is breaking, and my heart feels numb.

The moon goddess made a mistake.

I hope she knows.

I have begged and screamed for him to stop but the more I do, the worse Dante's punishment becomes. Sebastian wants one thing and one thing alone- he wants me to accept him as my mate and he wouldn't stop until I do so. Dante's life is at the palm of my hand and I had two choices, accept Sebastian or watch Dante transition to the moon goddess. “Please, stop. You are hurting him." I choke out, my voice shaky and horse from the amount of times I have screamed my lungs out. By the way, I don't think he has more than a few seconds to live." Sebastian laughter echoes around the cell, the chest of the woman restricting me from helping Dante also vibrating in
