Kasper was waiting at the tree line for the rest of his Shadow trackers. “Babaloo, when did you realize that you were a Shadow?” “I was about five or six. Griz decided to up my training.” Babaloo shrugged. “We had no idea what was happening to me.” “Yo, Fire are you ready?” One of the Shadow’s asked. “Yep, we’ll talk more later.” Kasper told Babaloo. “Yeah but who’s fire?” Babaloo asked. “Oh, we have code names, it’s a way to protect our family.” “Makes sense.” “Is everybody here?” Fire (Kasper) asked. “Yeah, let’s get started.” Milo said.

“Alright, here’s what the job is.” Fire started. “The young female pup, 3, belongs to Alpha Blasé and Luna Storm SilverMoon and their youngest one in a set of triplets, 2 boys and her. She was taken by a former female pack member who also had her sights set on being Alpha Blasé’s Luna but he, of course, found his true fated mate.” He stopped and looked at all the black clad faces. “One of the males is former Alpha Maxwell Green

“The cabin they are staying in is my granny’s. I spent many a day running around that cabin.” Babaloo smiled at his memories. “How did they even find it?” Griz asked. “They must’ve gotten lost because no one would’ve ever found it otherwise.” Babaloo frowned. “Well, they are trying to hide and stay off the grid.” Doltyn said. “Yeah, but they don’t know where they are. They don’t know that this is bear country. We can use that to our advantage.” Babaloo grinned. “Also, what they don’t know is that my gramps built a secret tunnel that the door is in the room that I slept in.” “So, we have a way in.” Silas said with excitement. “Yes, but we still need to be careful.” Mimi reminded him. “The big dumb bear forgets we still have to deal with the four males.” She glared at him. “They won’t be a problem.” Babaloo snorted. “You never, NEVER, underestimate your opponent!” Mimi gritted. “She’s right.” Milo agreed with his sister. “The old man, I don’t think he’ll be too

“Do we know who this Russian Alpha is?” Blasé asked. Dakota looked over at Kydence. Kydence and Mimi were the only females in the meeting. “Our job as Shadow Guards,” Kydence started, “is to help protect the innocent and vulnerable, be they supernatural or human. The Shadow pack has been blessed with the ability to do several things. I do hafta ask that our identities stay here in this room.” She said looking into the eyes of each new wolf and bear they’ve met here over the last several days. “If I may ask, Griz started, why?” Mimi spoke up. “Because you dumb bear.” “Mimi!” Kydence snapped. “You will be respectful to Alpha Stone! He has graciously allowed us to use his clan house as our main base.” She scolded. “If you can’t keep your emotions in check then you can leave the room. Do. You. Understand?” She glared at Mimi. “Yes, Luna.” Mimi answered. “My apologies Alpha Stone.” Mimi bowed. “It’s okay Mimi. If I found out I was mated to Babaloo,” he chuckled, “I w

“Lita, would you please have all the elderly, except dad, the pregnant females and cubs down to the bunker, along with our guests.” Grizzly lovingly asked his mate. She nodded and turned toward another young female. “Myra would you please get the word out”. “Yes, mama.” Myra approached Grizzly. “Please be safe daddy.” She hugged him tight and kissed his cheek. “Awe, baby girl.” He hugged her back. “You ain’t getting rid of me that easily.” He kissed the crown of her head. “Now, go and help everybody. You know a few of the older females are probably bitchin’.” He snickered. “Griz!” Lita huffed. He shrugged. “Myra, go on. I’ll be right behind you.” Myra nodded and walked out hugging Babaloo which caused a low growl from Mimi. Babaloo smirked making Mimi blush. “Sorry, for whatever reason, my WOLF, is possessive of him.” Mimi whispered. Milo silently laughed at his sister and Babloo was smiling wide. Lita walked over to Griz. “You better be safe and come home to

They stopped before they reached the borders of the clan house. They needed to get their plan in place, and everyone needed to know their part and where to be. Shadow, Spyder and Spencer were already at the clan house waiting in the bunker with KC, Karla and Dillon. “Marco, I really need for you to stay calm and keep Jax under control.” Dakota asked of Marco. “The cowards who tried to take my mate are going to die.” Jax gritted. “Don’t make me sedate you.” Dakota warned. “Wait just a fuckin’ minute, don’t treat my son this way!” Storm growled. “I don’t want him hurting my people, himself or even his mate.” Dakota stated. “I would NEVER harm my mate!” Marco growled. “I mean, no disrespect, it’s just that we must catch this Russian.” Dakota sighed. “I’m sorry I didn’t mean anything bad.” Dakota apologized. “We understand.” Blasé said. “You should’ve come to us with your concerns, and we would’ve handled it. DO NOT EVER speak to my son that way.” He warned. “I know

Grizzly explained to his clan that they needed to remain in their mountain den for their safety and that the Russian Alpha’s wolves would be coming to find him along with Max’s wolves. “Babaloo, Lita, Myra and Tate will be going with me to meet with the King and Queen of supernatural’s. “I’m not sure how long we’ll be gone. So, I ask that no one leave their mountain dens. Billy will be in charge while we’re gone. He, Baker and Harry will take care of the store.” He told them. “If anyone needs anything, please make sure to let them know so they can make the necessary arrangements to get it to you. Stay within the mountain, keep the cubs and juveniles within the safe play areas.” Lita reminded. “Please, keep all safety protocols in mind while we are gone.” Grizzly stated. “I don’t know if any of these Alpha’s packs are going to come looking for their people. “Coco.” River patted her male’s cheek. She was tightly held in his arms. “Coco.” She poked his cheek, still not getting his attention. She huffed. “COCO.” She lifted his eyelids raising her voice a little louder. Marco groaned. “Princess, what are you doing?” “I gotta potty. She squirmed. He sighed. “Okay, c’mon.” He released his hold and she darted to the bathroom. He chuckled as he sat up stretching and looked around as he chuckled listening to his little mate babble as she did her business. As he took in the room, he realized that the boys were not in their beds. “FUCK!” He mumbled to himself. He went to open the door and in came running two little fur balls. “What the fluff!” He jumped back. They were laughing and giggling. “What did you two do?” He asked. They were in their pup forms and that was never a good sign. They were sitting on their little butts wagging their tails. River emerged from the bathroom with a big smile. “Feel better?” He asked. “Ye

“Good Morning,” I chirped as I made my way into the kitchen. “Morning my love.” Blasé responded kissing me. Wow, I love his kisses and the sparks that jolt through my body. “Mmm…” I hummed with a giggle. “What was that for?” I leaned into him. “Just happy that’s all.” He said with a smile. “Where are our little terrors?” I snickered. “They’re still asleep.” He said pouring hot water in my mug to make me some tea. I despised coffee. He on the other hand lived on coffee. “I guess they had fun last night.” I chuckled. “The don’t get to stay up late very often.” I drank my coffee and picked at the pastries on the table. “So, did you have anything to do with Marco showing up last night?” He smiled with a raised brow. “No,” I answered. “Grace noticed how sad River was and asked why.” I explained. “I had no idea she was going to send for him but I’m grateful she did.” I admitted. “Once we get settled in, I can see about keeping close to home at least until it’s time

Before she knew it she was pounced on by three small by strong bodies pushing her to the floor. “Hey, you three need to be careful with mom, she’s had a long day.” Blasé smiled as he bent down to peel their pups off of their mom. “Awe, dad.” They pouted in unison. “We missed mama.” “I know my babies.” Storm smiled as she pulled the three little pups into her arms for a big hug. “I missed you too, but I don’t think I can handle falling on my booty every day.” She chuckled. “Okay, mama. We be careful.” Rebel said helping him mom to her feet. “Thank you baby.” She said ruffling the top of his head. “Mama don’t do that.” He swatted her hands away from his head. “Awe, is my Rebby growing up on me already?” She asked with a sad pouty face. “Yes, I be a big boy.” He said. “Yeah, mama.” Ryder chimed

“Who’s turning sixteen? And why would you want to wait that long to find your mate?” Griz asked. “Oh, Buzz’s mate.” Babaloo said earning him a glare from his brother. “Yeah, waiting until we’re older would make things easier, especially if one mate is younger than the other. I mean, say one is twenty-five and the other is barely turning of age. I’m sure if the younger mate is a female, then her parents would take it much better and not want to kill her older mate.” Buzz explained his thinking. He had to see how Griz and Lita would react to his line of thinking. “Myra’s turning sixteen also maybe your mate and her can meet, she doesn’t have very many friends. They can keep each other company.” Lita said. “And you can’t deny what the Goddess decides, besides I don’t think it would matter, if one mate is still older than the other they would still be in the same situation.” She shrugged. “Why doesn’t she have many friends?” Griz asked. “She’s the Alpha Boar’s daughter.
