AYAH'S POV:
As I departed from Kent, it seemed like my heart was going to explode. Suddenly, I couldn't think of anything. His presence made me feel like a slave—a dry tickle in my throat, and a tremor in my lips. In any case, where is it originating from? My heartbeat goes back to normal when I put my hand on top of it. A sigh of relief escaped me as I blew out my breath. A mental image of Kent's face, though, persisted. I felt watched, as if someone were haunting me. The depths of nighttime shadows engulfed his gaze. Like his flawless face, his pouty lips were thick and delicate. In comparison to his hair, which is both long and shiny, I am completely inadequate. The pedicab came up to our school and halted outside the structure. I grinned at the driver and thanked him for his service as I paid him. Upon entering the university, our guard welcomed me. I skipped breakfast and went straight to the canteen because it was close by. I felt a hand go over my eyes. Exactly who it was is clear to me. Cleah, my closest companion. Stop being a ditz, Cleah; I'm hungry. "I don't know why I'm upset," I remarked with an angry tone. "Sis, what's wrong with you? You seem really irritable today." She looked at me curiously as she inquired. Prior to my first day at work, I was nothing like this. It was simply this visitor I met some time ago, nothing more. A narcissistic, egotistical jerk. I looked over at her. Her eyes seemed to bulge out of her head as I stared at her, and her mouth hung open in astonishment. "Oh my goodness, dear sister, you've developed your very first crush! She gushed, "I was so happy for you!" with a lottery-winner's gleam in her eyes. I proceeded to locate an empty table to have my meal at, completely disregarding her and leaving her standing at the counter. Using my watch, I verified the time. Two o'clock in the afternoon was the time. It will not take me more than ten minutes to eat my meal. Cleah was a close friend of mine and a fellow high school alumna. Standing before me, Cleah scowled. Her arms were folded over her chest. She seemed to be observing my expressions and replies intently. "What on earth! My irritated expression conveys my disapproval of her thoughts. I was still really angry. Now she's smiling broadly and pokes me in the cheek with her index finger. I was furious with a guy for the first time ever, and she acted as if she was ecstatic about it. "My friend, absolutely nothing! Your lunch is almost over, and class is about to begin! The grin on her face persisted, if only momentarily, at this point. To say that she watched my every bite would be an understatement. I shook my head in disapproval and quickly devoured my meal. Her laughing broke the silence as I strode away from her. Because of her response, I was now unhappy. Despite my remorse, I am relieved that I informed her what had transpired. As a consequence, she has begun to tease me, and she finds pleasure in irritating me. At nine o'clock in the evening, our lesson was over. I can almost feel my brother's anticipation as I step out of the school. Fortunately, I was successful in diverting my attention from him to my classwork. The fact that our class was over had completely slipped my mind. As she lifted me up, Cleah grasped my wrist. "We should leave right away! Your delicious brother is all I need to see! I just looked at them and went with my gut. Seeing my brother brought a tremendous amount of joy to Cleah's eyes. Because of my brother, I like her. There isn't much I can do to change the fact that my brother is seeing someone. Just a little while after that, I noticed my brother perched on his motorbike. Furthermore, he was smiling at the person he was messaging while maintaining a locked gaze on his phone. Surely it was his fiancée. "Oh no!" He stiffened and got more serious when he responded. My brother and I were face to face. Leaning in close, Cleah encircles my arm. Her eyes sparkled like stars as she grinned broadly. However, my brother chooses to disregard her. I roused Cleah from her slumber by pinching her. "Shall we!" my brother demanded, staring me down in the eyes. Even so, he fails to see that Cleah is there. It makes me feel guilty. You will be missed, Cleah. We will meet again tomorrow. My brother's actions had hurt her, so I buried my head in her arm and mumbled an apology. She merely gave us a subtle nod before releasing our embrace. As soon as Cleah walked away from me and toward her duty. My brother took a blow to the arm from me. "Oh my, why was that done?" Because of what I did to him, he was furious with me. On the other hand, I fix my glare on him, ready to strike. He removed his headgear and reapplied it on me. I recognized the figure of someone I'd met earlier in the day as I whirled around to face them. My emotions were all over the place again. I mount up my sibling's motorbike. I didn't even look back at him once while he stood there. Something unsettling was going on with it. Upon we return, my mom patiently waited by the entrance. Upon spotting me descend the motorcycle, her expression brightened. Quickly, I made my way to my mother's location. "Ayah, were you hungry?" Her face betrayed her anxiety as she inquired of me. For what seemed like an eternity, I hadn't eaten a thing. Still, a smile spread across my face. "The beloved princess has returned," Analia informed with a tone that betrayed her jealousy. She spoke with an obvious air of sarcasm. However, my mom reprimanded her. "Help, Analia!" It was sufficient for me to hear my mother's voice admonishing me. My sister, who had been muttering to herself, abruptly halted and redirected her attention to me. As she prepares to go to sleep, my mom gives me a friendly wave. In our property, you'll find three bedrooms. They sleep in a cabin that my six-brother built. The bedrooms of my parents were on the lower level. There are two bedrooms on the upper level of the home. Analia had her own room in the beginning. It was my room next. After completing my nightly rituals, I retired to my bed. My gaze is so riveted on the ceiling that I find it difficult to look anywhere else. The expression on Kent's face was one of pure joy. My goodness! I sighed, shut my eyes, shook my head, and then sighed again. I got up bright and early the following day to get ready for the day. I jumped out of bed the second the alarm sounded. My mother scolding me would be the worst thing that could happen. I need to get myself ready for work now. I was prepared to leave after a quick wash and donning my Chinese outfit. In my bag, I stashed my spare school uniform. Coming downstairs, I noticed my mom getting my lunch ready to go. I was fortunate to have a mother who worked tirelessly to provide for my every need when I was a kid. Without her, I don't know what to do. "Hello there, mommy!" I kissed her on the face and embraced her from behind. She was so happy that she smiled broadly and giggled. She greeted him with a smile and a "Good morning, baby!" speech. A scowl escapes me. Calling someone a baby is the one thing I despise the most. 'Darling, hurry up!' "I am now a woman!" I responded in a sulky manner. She whirled around to kiss me on the cheek after pecking my cheek. "Don't you think you're adorable?" You are remain my little one, regardless of your age, marital status, or number of children. Once again, I embraced my mom, my grin pure and innocent. "You spoilt Ayah so much, mom, and that's why she was such a brat growing up!" As Analia spoke those words, her voice betrayed her envy. You can't help but be envious of me. Why is this happening? My question had an air of defiance. "Ayah, I dare you! Whenever you sleep! Am I? Seriously, though. Where on earth did you get the bright notion to do that, my beloved sister?" My first impression of her was a monster with horns and a grin. "Absolutely, that's sufficient!" We were warned to halt by my mom, who scolded us. Having kissed my parents farewell, I grabbed my packed lunch and set off. A heavy breath escaped my mother's lips. I was depressed because my sister and I were often bickering. Even though we're meant to be close friends, the truth is that we're nothing like that at all. Outside the house, I caught a glimpse of my brother once more, this time smiling as he played on his phone. "My brother, I am perfectly capable of getting myself to work without your assistance." With a mischievous grin, he starts up his motorcycle and stealthily fastens my helmet. I sat behind him because there was nowhere else to sit. My biggest nightmare comes true whenever Analia and I argue for no reason. The distance between my home and the hotel where I work is approximately ten minutes. I lowered myself after my brother grabbed my helmet. Our hotel was among the city's most opulent. I started my time-in ritual by going to the Bundy clock and then to the restroom to apply a light coat of makeup. As soon as my shift started, I got to work cleaning the worktops and putting the dishes, silverware, and cutlery in their proper places. While one of my coworkers was making iced tea juice, I noticed the server sweeping the table. From Filipino to American breakfast, our dispatcher coordinated the cuisine. Guests start to make their way into the restaurant for breakfast one by one. My eyes were narrowed as I scanned the area for the individual I needed to find. I caught a glimpse of Kent's pal, but he wasn't having breakfast. It was heartbreaking for me when I couldn't see him. I kept myself occupied by helping out our guests whenever I could. Doing this will help me forget about him. I provided our guests with the breakfast menu so they could make their selections. The guest's final order was perfectly fulfilled. After turning around, I slammed my head against the solid chest. I nearly lost my equilibrium and collapsed on the ground. I waited for my face to touch the floor while closing my eyes. My freedom was snatched from me as someone seized my waist. My world came to a standstill as I ceased to breathe. No one dared to speak or move as we remained in the position for a while, and then our gazes met. Right up till someone let out a whistling sound. Without hesitation, I released Kent's hand. My activities were reprimanded by me. Moving over to the next empty table, he gave a subtle nod. His countenance exhibited a lack of sentiment. He appears to be somewhat rigid. Come on, it's been a day of practical pranks. He seemed to have transformed into someone entirely new. Grasping my order pad, I positioned myself before him. "Greetings, sir. Can I fulfill your request?" Gently, I probed him with questions. Averting his gaze, he looked away. Then his gaze shifted to the tabletop menu. Would it be possible for me to have a banana alongside my scrambled egg, fried rice, and beef? As he talked, I felt a parched throat. I swallowed hard. Which beverage would you prefer, sir? Are you in the mood for juice, hot chocolate, or coffee? Curiously, I inquired of him. With a steady pace, his fingers tap on the table. "Excuse me, but would you mind making my hot chocolate?" I can't tell if Kent was begging me to make his hot chocolate or if he was making an irresistible request. Then I pulled the menu out of his hands and nodded. Finally, yesterday's Kent reappears quite unexpectedly. "That is fantastic! Already, I've missed it. Nothing came out of my mouth. I finished making his hot chocolate, then I excused myself and got it ready. To ensure that it was brought to the table of Sir Kent, I contacted our waiter. My eyes swept across him. He shot me a menacing look the second he laid eyes on me. My gaze darts away. The passing of time has eluded me. Lunchtime had come and gone. Guests continued to pour in. It was the function room where our birthday bash was held. Guests at our hotel are then completely loaded. The phone started ringing, and I picked it up without panicking. So, I'm Ayah. Nice to meet you. Tell me how I can be of service to you right now. On the other side of the call, there is complete silence. Just like yesterday, this situation has persisted. I kept my cool, but I have a clue as to who it is. "Ayah, I enjoy listening to your voice!" After then, he lowered the receiver, and the connection was severed. Destroyed my understanding. *** I couldn't stop thinking about Kent's final words said over the phone. His words continued to baffle me. It sounded lovely, but I was at a loss for words. I felt abandoned. I have just a little time left before my shift is over. As soon as it rang, I picked up the phone. This is Ayah speaking. Could you need my assistance in any way? I resisted the urge to shut down the phone and instead waited for the person on the other end to speak. “Hi there?” Once again, I say it. In order to capture the interest of the other line. "Are you sure I can get room service?" "Excuse me," he inquired.. Unfortunately, we are currently unable to provide you with a delivery lad, sir. Can we wait for another shift to take your order? Is that acceptable with you? I gently inquired of him. I was taken aback by his response to my question. "Could you come to my room and get it for me?" The tone of his voice was unwavering. However, it seemed as though I had passed out. Excuse me, sir, while I investigate this. Kindly tell me what you want. My script and order pad are prepared. Once he informed me of his directive. I went to see the boss. Before I do anything, I need to get his OK. I gave the door a rap. When I heard someone come in, I slightly opened the door. Excuse me, but I need your advice on our room service. Unfortunately, nobody is available to take guests' orders. The function hall is hosting a birthday celebration, so we are short-staffed. Would you mind taking care of the guest's order while I tend to the counter? Is that alright with you? Our manager trailed after me as I indicated for her to just secure the cashiering machine. As soon as Kent's meal is done. I proceeded to deliver the command to him. Knock, knock. "Hotel service." Opening the door caused my voice to reverberate. "Step right in!" Kent grinned and said. I stepped inside. As I set his orders down on the table, I reached into my pocket and presented him with the receipt, asking him to sign it. "Here it is; kindly sign this, sir." With a smile on his face, he examines the receipt. "Once you provide me with your phone number, I will promptly sign that!" "Firmly," he stated. Wow, he was dead serious. The time it takes for us to deliver guests' meals is strictly controlled. If I proceed without the guest's signature, I could face consequences. Say it again! He got a hiss from me. Along with a notepad, he also gave me a pen. This strategy appears to have been in his thoughts from the beginning. "If you don't give me the right number, you'll be sorry!" His voice was so menacing that it sent shivers down my spine. "No," I said. I had already typed down my number before I gave him the order paper to sign. I pivoted and extended my hand toward the doorknob. But he pinned me down and started whispering to me. "You are mine, Ayah!" There was an air of danger in his voice. Despite my fear, I kept quiet about it. Gently, he paves the way for me to enter. Leaving his room, I let out a sigh of relief.
