14: First Selfie As A Couple.

We were standing in a mall. I had no idea why Kurt brought me to a mall. And when I asked him, he shushed me saying that he is the boss for now. I rolled my eyes at his dramatic acts but I could not help myself. He was cute and I started to like spending time with him. I did not say another word to him after that. He bought us ice cream. Then he made me sit on a bench and went away. And I was waiting for him, while finishing his and my ice cream. Well, I was hungry and angry. And ice cream was perfect in both scenarios.
After almost twenty minutes, he came back. By then, I had finished both of our ice cream. He had a mischievous smirk on his face. I bit my lower lip with a guilty look on my face. "Sorry. I was hungry and angry and your ice cream was more delicious than mine. So I could not stop myself." I said with a guilty pout on my face. Seeing my pout, he laughed out loud and ruffled my hair again. Even though I hated when anyone touched my hair. But I started to like him touching my hair. He sat down beside me then tapped on the tip of my nose with his index finger.
"Don't stress about it, Sugarplum. I don't eat ice cream. I bought them both for you. Because on our way to the mall, I could hear your stomach growling for food. Don't worry." He replied to me in a calmed tone. I chuckled softly as I heard him. He was so amazing and caring. I just could not believe sometimes that I was with him.
"I should be thanking that thief, you know. If he would not be at the coffee shop that day in the park, I would never have met you." I said in a dramatic tone and he laughed out loud again. Seeing him laughing carelessly, I also started laughing.
After a few minutes, we both sobered up. Then he set a gift bag in front of me. I frowned when I saw the gift bag. "What are you frowning at? Open it. See what is inside. This is for you. I do not have any other girlfriend here with me right now." I gasped loudly as I heard him. I slapped his arm playfully and he chuckled. Shaking my head, I looked at what was inside the gift bag.
"Oh my God! That's a phone. Why did you buy me a phone? That's why you brought me to the mall. To buy me a phone?" I asked him in a surprised tone as I was examining the phone.
"Yes, I brought you here so I can buy you a new phone. As it was my idea and I asked you to call your mom. The responsibility lies upon me when you throw your phone in the water." He replied to me in a dramatic tone that made me giggle.
"Awww… Kurt, that was so sweet of you. But I can't take it. This is too much. And we are not really officially dating. I can not accept expensive gifts. I am sorry. I won't take it." I spoke in a low tone. He was trying his best to help me in my hard time. But it didn't mean I would accept such expensive gifts from him.
"Who said we are not officially dating? Well, we are. Did you not see? When we entered the mall, people were taking pictures of us. By now, I am sure our pictures must have gone viral on social media. As for the gift, this is for me. So we can talk until you buy your phone. After that, you can throw this one in the sea." I was shocked just to hear the first set of details he had given me. By the time he was done talking, I was laughing hysterically.
"You are so mean. You know ways to make me submit to you. I have no idea what you will be doing to me when we will be in Oregon for two days. I am starting to rethink this plan for the Oregon getaway date." I replied to him in a dramatic angry tone. Hearing my words, he winked at me and ruffled my hair again. The smirk on his face was mischievous. And it was setting hundreds of butterflies free inside my stomach. I just could not help but smile shyly.
"You will know everything soon. For now, let me just take you home. It is getting late and you don't want your dad to scold you at work tomorrow." He said as he stood up. I rolled my eyes at him as he offered me his hand. I took his hand and stood up. I grabbed my purse and he took the gift bag in his hand. With that, he wrapped one of his arms around my waist and pulled me towards the exit of the mall.
As his car arrived, he helped me in the car. Then he hopped in and drove away. I was checking the phone he had bought me. "It's beautiful. Thank you, Kurt." I said while checking the phone. He chuckled softly seeing my excitement. I opened the selfie camera and turned on the lights of the car. Then I went closer to him and pecked his cheek. With that, I took our first selfie together in the phone he had bought me. For a minute, he was too shocked to say or do anything. He was not expecting that kiss from me. Even though it was just a mild gesture from my side. He still did not see that coming.
"What? You are behaving like you might have seen me naked. Now I want you to turn left, please." I asked him in a teasing tone and he growled under his chest. Then I asked him something that made him frown in confusion.
"Wait! Left! But this is not the way to your home, Sugarplum?" He asked me in a confused tone and I rolled my eyes at him again.
"Yes, hottie. This is not the way to my home. But I want to go somewhere else first. Then you can drop me home. Deal?" I replied to him and he chuckled. He turned the car to the left, the opposite side of the way to my home. I kept giving him directions and he kept following. Until we reached the house of the teacher, Alina. .
"That's it, hottie. I need almost an hour there. Two hours maximum. Then we can go home." I said as he stopped the car. He sighed but nodded his head. Just then his phone started ringing. He grabbed my wrist to stop me and picked up the call.
"Hi… hey, buddy … yeah … oh, God… when did that happen? Alright, alright… don't worry about it, man. I am coming… yeah, I am on my way." He answered the phone and by the end, his expressions were stressful.
"Hey, Leyla. Can we do that some other time? My friend's sister didn't come home. And I need to go now so I can help him look for her." He said in a worried tone.
"Oh, God. I am so sorry, Kurt. You go. I'll finish my work here then call a cab. I'll be fine." I replied to him and he shook his head.
"No, I can't leave you here. You can do it some other time. I am sure it won't be a problem." He asked me stubbornly and I sighed. I just could not tell him anything just yet.
"No, I have to go Kurt. I won't get another chance like that. Please. I insist. I'll be fine. I know how to protect myself." I replied to him and he raised both of his hands in defeat.
"Alright, be careful. And call me if anything happens." He said and I nodded my head. Pecking his cheek again, I stepped out of the car. He waved his hand as he drove away.
