CHAPTER FOUR
When I got home, I didn't see my mother but her car was packed outside. I assumed she went to see a neighbor and then I went inside. All that filled my head then was family matter, Christabel and Vivian and my friend Kingsley.
Vivian called a couple of times to make sure I was not feeling sad and Christabel sent a message to me. This was the first time, as I didn't even have her number, I wondered who gave her my contact. I was popular in school and anyone could do that so it didn't bother me.
CHAPTER THREEOn Monday morning, I tried my best to avoid Vivian but that girl seem to be a daredevil.“Joshua, what were you even saying over the phone”, she doesn't call me Joshua except she wanted to deliver a very significant message. I only stared at her as she drew nearer.“Joshua, I'm talking to you”, she was trying to make herself as audible and annoying as she can be. Her statements were already attracting the stares of my fellow classmates especially C
CHAPTER FIVEVivian hadn't talked to me for a whole week now as she was still covered in embarrassment. That is the disadvantage of living a reckless life, you know.I commended Christabel on her work and then I began to ask her about her plans to publish it.“Kris, now that you are done with the novel, how do you intend to publish it”“When that time comes, you will know. The soft copies first and then the hard copies.”I liked her idea. She became my friend because we share the same interest – writing. I went back to my seat as soon as my mathematics teacher stepped into the classroom.“I told you all that we would be having a mathematics competition and so we will be selecting the best three to represent our school from your classroom today.”, he said as he smiled. His teeth were not that sparky but it gave an impression. He was a tall and masculine man and never felt si
CHAPTER SIXThat Sunday evening, my father returned home. My mother had gone to see her friends and I was concluding my book. I rushed out and hugged him.“daddy, I missed you so much”, I said exposing my open teeth.“Me too. Where is your mother?, she had not been picking my calls. What is the problem?”, he asked as he handed me over his bags.“nothing, I don't think there is a problem at all. But where did you travel to ?““To visit a friend. Don't worry, I'm back now”Yeah, he was back but from his tone, I could figure out that he was troubled. I didn't want to trouble him with questions. I took his bag inside and brought out his food to serve him since he said he was hungry. When my mother returned, she sighted my father in the parlor reading his newspapers and didn't say a word. She just went inside the room and my father noticing it followed suit. I followed too, to e
CHAPTER SEVENAfter two weeks of the intercourse, I got the most shocking news of my life. I had gradually gotten over the incident with Vivian and continued my normal life. By now, I had already published my book and the sequel. What happened that Monday morning was the most shocking incident of my life. We were in the classroom having fun that day when suddenly Vivian began to cough and vomit and so I took her out since I was the one near her. When we got to the clinic, a test was ran on her before treatment commenced. To me, it was a simple sickness maybe malaria or typhoid fever. I stayed with her for sometime as a good friend until she was finally okay and then we went back to school. As I said earlier, our school was a highly developed and our clinic was advanced. They had all the required equipment for running tests and checkups. When it was break period, one of the staffs in the clinic came to her and
CHAPTER EIGHTTwo days after that, my mom called Vivian's aunt to inform her that she was staying with us.“Hello Ma, I am Joshua's mother, the boy who impregnated your daughter Vivian”“Yes. I don't want to see her again in my house. Let her live there and have her children”, she said harshly.“I don't mean any harm ma. I called to inform you in case you begin to look for her ”“Didn't you hear what I said. I don't want to see her again. She is a disgrace in fact, I have also packed out to avoid her from coming back”, she said as she cut the call. What kind of woman is this, just letting go of her daughter like that. She must be very harsh and wicked. She didn't even confirm who the person that impregnated her was. That was none of my business, so Vivian is going to live with us here. I thought also that maybe my parents would force her to marry me. I was also very m
When we got to the school premises, my father collected the number of the attendant that delivered the fake news and address and he went straight to her house. It was a sixteen minute drive from my school although. When we were received into the house, my father who doesn't like to waste time began.“Madam, I learned that you are the attendant in the school's clinic who told Vivian here that she is pregnant.”, he said pointing in her direction.“Yes sir.”&ldqu
Chapter TenIt has been quite along time now since I talked with Vivian – the devil in human form. Since she left, I have never made enquiries about her whereabouts or even try to call her. Who cares about the whereabouts of a devil. I even changed my contact details so she wouldn't have to get close to calling me. The devil still used social media to reach out to me, but I frequently ignored her. I was so sure that I had over a hundred unread messages from her.Life was going very well for me and my family. I really enjoyed being with Kingsley. I felt guilty once in a while when I remember that I had defiled myself, b
Chapter elevenKingsley reluctantly agreed to follow us for shopping but he made sure he had his tablet. While we were busy getting things for ourselves, he sat on a bench sketching a drawing on his tablet., At some point, my mom was angry with him and seized the device for the moment. It was then that he joined in the shopping, but also surprisingly, he only got himself pencils, colours, A4 papers for his drawing of course.“Kingsley, I see you are becoming a psychopath. I didn't meet you like this. If you don't
Chapter ThirteenWhen i got home, my father wasn't around neither was Kingsley. It was like an addition of two hours to the one hour my father had permitted me to stay. Meanwhile, I left Kris in the hotel as she refused to leave the room.I called him and he told me he was coming. I was inwardly afraid should in case my father returned and saw me outside. True to his words, he showed up almost immediately that shows he was with someone nearby. He opened the door and shook me.“How did it go?”
Chapter Twelve. When I woke up, I saw Kingsley with my phone reading the messages Kris sent for me.“Some privacy please!” I collected it forcefully. “Don't try it next time please!”Kingsley frowned. “You've gotten a lover now, I'm now a parasite right? You were the one reporting to mom I didn't have time to discuss with you because of my project. Now, I'm trying to relate and you are annoyed. Since when did you start hiding your phone from me?” He suddenly got angry. “You know
