Niylah's POV

I couldn't ignore the feeling in my stomach that something felt wrong. All day, I had been catching Hilda and Ivory looking at me with these weird looks. I ignored it, thinking maybe they were just being their usual cold selves. Still, something was nagging me in the back of my head that this was quite different. It was almost like. They had planned something.

I glanced over at them as I left the class. They were talking in low tones, huddled together like they had some secret nobody knew. When Ivory's eyes met mine, she looked away quickly; her face settled into an innocent expression quickly, too practiced. My heart thudded a bit faster. Whatever they were up to, I had to be ready.

Later that afternoon, on my way to my locker, I found a small note tucked inside, folded over. I frowned, picking it up. The handwriting was neat, almost too neat. It said: *Meet me in the old library wing after school. Alone.*
