Chapter 261 The Wolves

Gwyneth secretly felt that way, but she still had a proud look on her face. She walked past Liam when she exited the restroom because of this. She even pretended she had not noticed him.

But Liam was used to her temperament. He grinned and followed her.

They had walked quite a distance from the campsite at this point. Weeds were thickly populating the area. The daytime scenery was lovely, but it became eerie at night.

Liam trailed behind Gwyneth for about a minute before noticing she had stopped walking.

He walked up to her quickly, perplexed. When he noticed Gwyneth's expression, he was shocked. He asked, "What's wrong?"

"Did you hear anything?" Gwyneth asked gently as she knitted her brows and scanned their surroundings.

That query gave Liam the chills. It was not fear but an instinctual response to the unknown. As Liam was about to probe, a howl suddenly erupted beside his ears. Two or three more howls soon followed. It was not loud, but it was incredibly clear.
