“WELL, THERE’S only one way to find out,” Keandrick responded and take out his expensive phone, waving it in front.

I raised a brow at him in confusion, didn’t get the idea he was trying to express but instead to feed my confused self, he turned his gaze to his phone’s screen and dialed someone’s number. I don’t know what was running inside my boss’s head. This happening was a huge plot twist in both of our lives. Both living our lives, this marriage thing made our lives turned upside down. We are both a victim. We both don’t know what truly happened and why we ended up in this kind of situation and we both don’t know how we will get out of this situation. Well, I hope we could find a way, the fastest way to get out of this mess. I don’t think I would be able to sleep tonight because of this.

I know I swear to myself that I didn’t want to meet him again since that chocolate encounter at the small store near the park. But because of this damn marriage certificate that we both don’t kno

    I sat in the visitor's chair and turned my head away from Keandrick's eyes so he wouldn't see my flushed face. He had been staring at me for so long that I was about to get up and leave his office to calm down because I felt like I couldn't breathe. a stranger who appears to be his age. I lost my desire to leave the room.“Good day, dear friend!" A man uttered.“Whoa! All I wanted to do was hug you, dude. You must have missed your friend." The man, who was still grinning, questioned Keandrick. Everywhere he goes, this guy brings his own sunshine with him.From my vantage point, this person appears to be close friends with Keandrick. He really does exude positive energy from the moment he walks into the room. He even wanted to hug my boss, but my boss kept putting himself between them.Although Keandrick's response was emotionless, his male companion appeared unconcerned, as if he was accustomed to my boss' tolerant demeanor.Keandrick's emotionless response causes me to almost snort;

  • The Marriage Contract   Chapter 29

    THE WORD marriage was a big word for me. If ever you’ll enter into the sacrament of marriage, you must be ready for the lifetime commitment because marriage wasn’t just a stage of life where you wanted to marry someone at first then if you get tired, you’ll leave him or her. In the stage of marriage, there was no room for playing. People weren’t playing at this stage. Before two people enter this stage, you two must be very sure that you love each other and that both are willing to enter into a lifetime commitment. Being married to someone was the starting point where you will be building a family with your partner. Before you marry someone, ask yourself first, “Am I ready to commit?” Because as I said, this is the stage of our lives where there’s no turning back. Some people were getting divorced from their partners because, in the first place, they weren’t truly ready for the commitment, that they think married life was easy but it wasn’t. I said to myself that if ever I finally g

    I’M PRETTY sure that Keandrick would find a way of getting out of the mess that I brought. I think I am bad luck here because ever since I entered the picture, I brought a mess to him. Yeah, what luck. After the confirmation of that fucking real marriage certificate by Darwin, my mind was like wandering in another universe, still processing these unending weird happenings around me. While Keandrick on the other side, immediately called someone on the phone I assumed that he was going to file an annulment of this so-called marriage thing I’ll be thanking him for that but that will be after if we get successfully annulled. Darwin teases his friend before we took separate paths to get to our supposed work. Well, it was just Darwin who left since he has a lot of work to do on his list. Keandrick must be grateful for having a friend like him who could spend a little of his time helping his friend’s problem. “See you around some other time, Audrey! TODAY IS ANOTHER day to spend in the Saavedra company. I’m still sleepy but I need to go to the company. I just couldn’t take an absence because I need to sleep because I am a fucking secretary of Keandrick Saavedra.Ugh, I really hate this!I lazily got up from my bed and went straight into the bathroom to get ready. I wear a black skirt that’s above the knee a sky blue long sleeve. I really love it when my outfit is like this because I look like a professional with this kind of outfit on. I put a light makeup and I’m done.“Oh, you’re already going?” I get one sandwich from the plate that I assume Bella prepared for breakfast before I nodded my head to her.“I’m in a hurry. I think I’m already late,” I lazily responded and get the mug of coffee she was holding and took a sip from it. For being together for God knows how many years already with Bella, we no longer care sometimes if we used the same spoon together or take a sip of coffee from one’s mug. Yeah, we have nothing to hide f

    The whole meeting just went smoothly and I was just beside Keandrick, taking down notes on the important matters. And when we finished, the two guys shake their hands to close the deal. I stand up when the two guys both stand up.I guess the businessman here is his business partner and they just made another deal. Fucking millionaires."Thank you for your cooperation," Keandrick said as they shake hands.The businessman was I think just around his 30s already. Not bad though. He looks dashing in his coat. Looks mature enough."It was an honor to work with Saavedra Inc.," said the other party. The businessman then look at me and smiled which I returned and give him a slight bow to show respect.Keandrick and I went back to his office and I was just behind him, following him. I took a glance at my wristwatch while walking and saw that it was already noon. Lunchtime. Time flies so fast when you are busy doing something. I even heard my tummy growling, telling me that I need to eat and th

    I CAME BACK to Keandrick’s office and saw that Darwin was still there. They were talking about something that I didn’t know about so I didn’t mind them and just put them on the table near the couch where Darwin was sitting.“There you go,” I said as I put the plastics on the table. “I didn’t know what food you guys will like for your lunch so I just grab the food I think you’ll like eating for today. I couldn’t call any of you two because I don’t have your contact number,” I explained and that’s the truth.“That’s okay, Audrey. I think this fried chicken is the best. I didn’t take any breakfast and I am super hungry right now.” I chuckled at Darwin’s statement before he quickly dig in.That made sense. Looking at him right now, keeping himself busy with the food, I could say that he is indeed hungry and I think that he was more hungry than me though. I gave Keandrick the food that I bought for him but he just stares at the food on his table like it was the most disgusting dish right n

    ANOTHER LESSON I learned in life, is that when you are mad, you should avoid talking because you might burst out. By bursting out your frustrations, you can also hurt someone. I SILENTLY TOOK a glance once again at Ken, his hands on the steering wheel, swiftly manuevering it and quietly driving. Looking from his side profile, I could really tell that there's no doubt that he was a younger version of his brother. It was already past 6:30 in the evening and I was not yet in my best friend’s condo unit. After I got off from work, I decided to have some alone time with myself. I decided to go here at the bay walk, where I could feel the cold breeze of the young night hitting my body making a few strands of my hair go up to my face.The crisp air by the water has a captivating and energizing quality that creates a visual mosaic that conveys the moment's essence. The crisp, cold air tickles my skin as I sit at the park's cement bars to keep myself from falling into the water.The faint aroma of salt penetrates the sea breeze and flows into the crisp air, adding to the whole experience. The wind blows through my hair, a symphony of rustling whispers, and it feels both energizing and calming, like nature's embrace.The sound of the wide body of water resonates throughout my body as the breeze envelops me, giving me a sense of the infinite. My mind could sense something was off if I really go inside my boss’ office. I don’t want to give myself false hope but I hope I was wrong because I really don’t want to talk about it. As I turned the knob and pushed the door lightly, I saw Mr. Saavedra sitting on his usual spot and just like the some other days, he was busy reading some papers. I was about to back down but before I could even closed the door, he already caught me peeking inside and from that moment, I know that there’s no turning back. It’s too late now because he already caught me in the act. “You’re here,” he uttered in a low voice but enough to sent shivers on my body as if we were just close. “Come here,” he added and I did what he said.
