Chapter three

"Hi"

Amber said smiling at the nurse of duty, she had to go back to the hospital to ask questions because she was confused as hell.

"Hello, how can I help you?"

The nurse Betty asked with a smile on her chubby face, she seemed nice so Amber thought she could just ask her all the questions she had without needing to see the doctor.

"Sorry, can I ask you just a few questions?" Amber said, reducing the volume of her voice.

"Sure anything, although there is a magazine just right around the corner that probably has enough medical answers but I'd be glad to help you out in any way." Betty said .

"Thank you,uhh is it possible for someone, not me though I am asking for a friend,you see her boyfriend is infertile but she got pregnant somehow and she swears she hasn't been with anybody since they started dating a-and i-i mean she doesn't understand."

"And you're asking on her behalf uh uh, anyways it's possible but the chances are very thin that I'd say it's almost impossible i-"

Before Betty could finish speaking the doctor came out to the reception where Amber had been talking to Betty.

Amber turned around to face the doctor as she smiled at him, but seemed like the doctor wasn't in a good mood as he ignored her and focused on Betty instead.

"Any of them come in to complain?" He asked Betty as Amber stared at them, she didn't understand why they were waiting for someone to come in and complain but that wasn't her problem or at least she thought as she prepared herself to leave until she heard Betty tell the doctor about what she had been saying concerning her made up pregnant Friend.

"And what is the name of this your friend?" 

The doctor turned to ask Amber as she paused and faced him.

"Uhh, she's at home." Amber said after seconds of searching her mind on what to say.

"And your friend's boyfriend claims he can't be the father because he is infertile is that correct?"

"Yes." Amber said, nodding her head. She didn't know where the conversation was going but she was glad the doctor was interested in her problem.

"That aside, are you sure you haven't been here?"

The doctor asked Amber as he took his time to look at her while she tried to look for an excuse but couldn't come up with one so she remained silent.

"What's your name please?" He asked as he took out his glasses from his coat to go over the file that was in his hands, a file that Amber didn't realize he was holding.

"Amber Baker." amber said sheepishly

"Now I remember where I saw you, you came in for an appointment last month right? I was the doctor in charge of you."

The doctor asked, this time there was some sort of urgency in his voice.

"Yeah I did, that's the reason I am here today, I'm sorry for saying it was for a friend I just didn't want to seem like an idiot if you said it wasn't possible. "

Amber said, staring at Betty who offered her a warm smile and a single nod of the head.

"Oh it's you who's pregnant not your friend, this is good news uhh sorry can you just come with me for a few minutes I want to test you please."

The doctor said packing up his files and taking off his glasses putting them back inside his coat.

"Uh test? What kind of test I don't understand!"

Amber said confused as she followed the doctor to his office.

"Take a seat." the doctor said to Amber pointing to the seat opposite his table, he was excited now that he had found her.

It's only been two days since he started his own search for the girl, out of five girls that he had attended to that day he was able to get a hold of three and they weren't pregnant because he had done tests on them to be sure, his life was at risk so he wasn't ready for any more mistake, the only problem now was how to break it to Amber.

"Doctor you have to explain w-"

"It was a mistake from our end,I-i- Don't also understand how that happened but we are very sorry for any inconveniences i-"

"Are you kidding me, I am pregnant! I didn't take the wrong pill for you to call that an inconvenience. Are you shitting me right now! A fucking mistake I am pregnant because of you,I lost my boyfriend because of you hell I even lost my best friend and you're calling it an inconvenience man you need to be sacked and burnt alive!"

Amber shouted at him, all those times she was complaining the doctor kept quiet because that wasn't even half of the news he was about to deliver, when he saw that she had calmed down a bit he adjusted his seat closer to hers, he was already sweating in the air-conditioned room.

"See, you being pregnant is stressful I understand but if you don't listen to me I am going to loose my head!"

Amber paused what she was about to say and looked at him funny, she didn't understand how her getting pregnant meant he was going to loose his head.

"I don't understand what you're talking about doctor?" She said,

"The problem is, the owner of the sperm that was mistakenly inseminated into you wants it back!"

"What do you mean he wants it back?" Amber asked, confusion written on her face.

"Heard the name Alek Nikolai?"

When the words came out of his mouth Amber stiffen, her heartbeat accelerated and she began to sweat 'fuck no'.

"Don't tell me he's the fucking owner,I-i- mean he's the owner of the child I am carrying fucking no way!"

Amber said as she was totally loosing it, now she Understood why the doctor was saying he'd loose his head now it was more like they'd both end up on the streets in a bloodied bag.

"I-i am sorry but I gotta save my skin, you're a lady use your wits and try talk him out of killing you, I already called him he's on his way here."

Amber was shocked at what the doctor said that she felt like bashing his head into the ground.

"H-he's coming here? What the hell doctor are you crazy! He would fucking kill me!"

"No he won't because you're pregnant so he won't do that!"

" And what makes you so sure?" Amber asked not like she wanted to know the answer but she was trying to plan in her head ways to leave the hospital premises before he got here.

"Because he told me." the doctor said.

Amber knew he was definitely lying but she knew for her to get out of here without seeming like she was running away she had to act like she believed him.

"Okay, okay I trust your words besides I am a lady I should have witts that he can't resist, phew okay uhh first off I gotta use the restroom fast because if he comes here i might pee on my body out of fear and we don't want that now do we?"

"No" the doctor said, shaking his head as he pointed to the door by the right in his office.

"Thanks but I need an actual wash room, I'd use the one downstairs, you know I am pregnant I have to be careful and clean."

She spoke as the doctor nodded his head and he understood she needed her own space.

"Be sure to be here before they get here okay."

"Sure, just give me five" she said picking up her bag and walking out the door she didn't know if the doctor was playing along or he was just dumb it was obvious to even a blind person that she was running away,but she was glad he didn't notice because 'she needed to get away from here and fast' she thought as she stopped a taxi and got in without looking back or feeling relaxed the taxi driver drove her home.
