Salvatore’s POV

"You think you're smart, right?" I hissed, my grip tightened on her arm as I prepared to exact my revenge.

Isabella's eyes widened in surprise. I could see a flash of fear in them. Good. She should be scared.

"How did you-?" she started.

Before she could finish, I punched her in the mouth. She fell to the floor and was knocked out immediately.

I stared at her still body in disgust. Time to teach her a lesson.

*

Half an hour later, I stared at Isabella and watched as she slowly regained consciousness. For a moment, she looked confused then she looked around and realised where she was. She tried to scream but no words could come out because her mouth was gagged. She tried repeatedly but only more muffled noises could be heard.

I could see the sheer terror in her eyes. I smirked. I feed on fear.

I ordered my two most trusted men; Matthew and Charles, to take her to the dungeon. They tied her to a chair and gagged her.

Various torture methods flowed through my mind as I looked at her.

"Patience" my subconscious told me.

I have to tame the Beast inside me. When he comes out, it's hard to put him back in.

"I thought we were friends, Isabella" I spoke as I lit my cigarettes. I took a few puffs to calm myself down. I don't want to get upset yet. At least, not until I know why she did what she did.

Charles remove the gag from her mouth.

"Please" she panted. Her breathing was heavy.

"I hate traitors" I said "You know this"

"I'm not a traitor"

I chuckled. This girl is really making things harder for herself.

"You're alone in a secluded dungeon with the most dangerous man you can think of. Thrdumbest thing you can do is to lie"

"I-"

"Shut up" I growled.

I took deep breaths to calm myself down. I'm trying my best not to lose it I loathe traitors. They deserve only one thing - death.

"Who sent you?" I questioned "I'm asking nicely. Don't make me change my mind, Isabella"

"I don't know what you're talking about"

I clenched and unclenched my fists in an attempt to calm myself down.

"The boss already saw you" Charles said "He saw you poison his drink"

Her eyes widened in disbelief "How did you suspect me?"

"I'm a people's person. You seem to have forgotten. I notic everything from a person's step to the bat of their eyelashes. You know, the funny thing is that you would have gotten away with it if you weren't so jittery. You're usually calm and collected so I knew something was wrong"

Tears welled up in her eyes. She sobbed quietly. She knows she's done for. Fforgiveness is definitely not a virtue of mind especially when it comes to treachery.

I smiled at her reaction. I've got her where I want her - remorseful and defeated.

When a person betrayes me, I like their last thought to be 'I shouldn't have done that'. I enjoy making them feel regret. w

"Why did you do it?" I asked her.

"Who sent you?" Matthew added.

Isabella shook her head "I can't"

"Yes,you can darling" I told her "Do you want to die?"

"No, please"

"Then do as I say"

She's still going to die anyway but it'll be fun to toy with her a little. I enjoy seeing a flicker of hope in my victim's eyes right before I kill them. That way, there'll be confusion in their eyes when they die.

Hope mixed with fear at the last minute equals confusion. It's an erotic sight to see.

Isabella is still unwilling to talk.

"I'll give you one more chance for old-time sake" I said "Who sent you?"

"I can't say" she sobbed "I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to"

"But you did"

"I'm sorry"

Sorry doesn't cut it. It's just a word and in my dictionary, it means nothing.

"Should we do it now, boss?" Matthew asked.

I could see the evil glint in their eyes. My boys looked just as excited to torture her as I was. What can I say? I taught them well.

"Go ahead"

Charles grinned before walking into the darkness. A few seconds later, he came back with a hand burner. Isabella's eyes almost popped out of her sockets.

"Please" she begged.

"One more chance, darling" I calmly said "Who sent you?"

"I can't"

"Wrong answer"

As soon as I said that, Charles turned on the burner. She screamed loudly when the flame. came in contact with her skin. Music to my ears.

Charles burned her for close to a minute.

"Stop" I told him. He turned off the flame.

When I thought of torturing her, a lot of methods came to my mind. I thought of cutting her limbs one-by-one, keeping her head in water until she passes out or even electrocution. However, I decided to go easy on her because she's a lady. I'm a nice guy, aren't I?

By the time Charles was done, her skin looked red. She was panting and sobbing.

"I hate seeing you like this, darling" I said sympathetically "You're one of my favorites"

"Please" she sobbed "I'm begging"

"Wrong answer again"

Charles turned on the flame and burned her in that exact same spot. She screamed till it felt as if her lungs were going to give out. He stopped after a few minutes. I looked at her She was sweating and her eyes were filled with tears. She looks like she's going to faint any minute now.

As Charles was about to turn on the flame again, she screamed "I'll talk"

I smiled "Good girl"

"I was sent by the Red Hood" she said

I thought about the name for a second. It sounds familiar. I snapped my fingers in realisation. The Red Hood is an anonymous organisation. They went viral for exposing the dirty deeds of the government and the filthy rich. No wonder she asked me about my source of income when she thought I was drugged.

"Go on"

"Rhey paid me a lot of money to get some dirt on you"

"So, you know who they are?"

"Not really. One of their members reached out to me" she panted "Please, let me go"

"Not so fast. What information have you given them before now?"

"Nothing"

I noticed how her fingers twitched. She's lying.

"I hate lies, Isabella"

Charles burned her arm again again. She screamed louldly in pain. He stopped after some time.

"I gave them the details on the account of the last 3 months"

I felt like punching the wall or even worse, punching her.

This conniving slimy bitch.

Yes, I run a company to cover up my my dirty tracks but if a professional takes a good look at those numbers, they will know that something doesn't add up. I know my underground drug business is secure but if they can get to my assistant then, who's next?

All they need to do is connect the dots before they find out where the majority of my income comes from. The last thing I need is trouble from the government. I can always make use of my connections but it's never easy to tighten loose ends.

Where did I go wrong? I was good to her. I gave her everything she asked for. Why would she betray me?

The thought made my blood boil. Shedoesn't deserve mercy. I tried as not as possible to calm myself down but she made it worse with her confession.

"I was good to you" I said "I fucking trusted you"

"I'm sorry" she's cried "I just desperately needed the money"

"Why didn't you ask me?"

"I know. I-"

I brought out my gun from my pocket and aimed it at her head.

"Say your last prayers"

Isabea begged and sobbed. The sound of her cries filled the room. It's funny how people fear death. It's always been fascinating to me.

Not too long after, I saw a pool of urine on the chair. She was so scared to the point that she pissed herself. Pathetic little bitch.

Her sobs and cries didn't have any effect on me. Just as I was about to pull the trigger, a voice shouted "Stop!"

I turned to my left to see who it was. I looked at her in utter confusion. What's she doing here? Most importantly, how did she even get here?

"Melissa?"
