Nicholas’s Point Of View

The phone buzzed sharply against my desk, its vibrations cutting through the tense silence of the room. I pressed it to my ear.

"What is it?" I bellowed

"Boss, the Shipments are gone" My hear sank at those words.

“What the hell do you mean by my shipments are gone?” My voice came out in a low growl, steady despite the fury bubbling beneath. The man on the other end stammered, throwing out excuses about an intercepted truck, and something about radio silence from the drivers. My fist slammed against the desk, rattling the crystal tumbler by my hand.

“Get your fucking ass out there and find it!” I barked. “I don’t care how. Get every damn man out there looking for it, and don’t call me until you have answers!”

Ending the call, I hurled the phone onto the desk and began pacing. Each step felt like it vibrated with the anger coursing through me. Billions were at stake, and I couldn’t afford these amateur mistakes.

The door burst open without warning, and Alejandr

Elena's Point Of View The door slammed shut behind me with a force that echoed through the quiet hallway, rattling the paintings on my walls. My chest rose and fell with ragged breaths, fury coursing through my veins like a wildfire. Nicholas and his goddamn need for control. I couldn’t believe he had the audacity to tell me I wasn’t allowed to go out alone. What did he think I was, a child under lock and key? I thought he had agreed to let me do as I wanted?Dropping into the chair by the window, I pressed my palms against my temples, trying to steady my breathing. No, I couldn’t afford to lose my head over him, not now. The heirloom I needed from my father’s estate was too important. If it weren’t for that, I’d have found a way to defy Nicholas just to prove a point. But today wasn’t the day. I would have my moment, but definitely not now.A soft chime interrupted my brooding. I reached for my phone, frowning as the screen lit up with an instagram notification. It was Drew a close

Nicholas’s Point Of View"Here's the Plan for the next Quarter...." The conference call had been dragging on for over an hour, the monotony broken only by the occasional sharp question from me and the hesitant responses of my staff. I was supposed to be at the club today, doing an inspection in person. But no, I’d made the decision to stay. Why? Because of her.Elena.Last time I’d stepped away for a full day, she’d managed to worm her way into my private library, unearthing things she had no business touching. Since then, I’d kept her under closer watch, assigning men to her every move. But Marco's recent discovery of her position in my life had tightened the leash even further. I couldn’t risk her slipping out of my sight again and falling into the wrong hands.“I don't think you all are using your damn brains, what happened to Improving the VIP service?” I barked into the phone. "And cut the crap about needing more funding. If the money's not being managed properly, heads will rol

Elena’s Point of ViewThe sun was setting as I sat in Drew’s car, its golden rays casting long shadows across the gate. “Thank you for today,” I said, clutching my purse tightly. My voice was soft, hesitant. I didn’t want to make this moment any more complicated than it already felt.“I had fun,” Drew replied with a warm smile, his blue eyes meeting mine. “We should do this again.”I nodded, but I knew the truth. Hanging out again would be impossible, not with the way my life was structured. Drew had no idea about the web of danger I was entangled in. Before I could respond, he leaned in, his lips brushing against mine for the briefest second.I jerked back, my pulse quickening. “Drew, no,” I whispered, stepping out of the car.“I’m sorry, Elena, I just..” he said quickly, his face a mix of regret and embarrassment.“It’s fine,” I muttered, shutting the car door before he could say more. My steps quickened as I approached Nicholas’s estate gate, my heart hammering in my chest. What ha

Nicholas’s Point of ViewAlejandro’s laughter grated on my nerves as the car sped down Fifth Avenue. The city buzzed outside, but his chuckling made it feel like I was trapped in a pressure cooker. “Why do you want to recognize Elena as your wife all of a sudden?” he asked, his tone light but laced with curiosity.I shifted in my seat, rolling the words in my head. Recognize Elena? I wasn’t doing this out of some romantic ideal. I wasn’t the kind of man who wore his heart on his sleeve. “Because it’s time,” I replied curtly. “She needs to fit into my world and learn to protect herself from people like Marco.”Alejandro threw his head back and laughed harder, a sound that echoed in the confined space of the car. “Protect herself? Seriously? This isn’t about Marco. This is about sending a message to that Drew guy, isn’t it?”My head snapped toward him. The name cut through me like a knife, sharp and unexpected. “Who the hell is Drew?”Alejandro smirked, clearly enjoying my ignorance. “T

Elena’s Point Of ViewThe mirror reflected a woman I barely recognized. The stylist's skilled hands pulled and twisted my hair into an intricate updo while another dabbed a brush across my cheekbones, adding a soft blush. The Lilac Mikado gown I wore shimmered under the warm lights of my room, hugging every curve in a way that would undoubtedly command attention. Nicholas had insisted that I look perfect for tonight’s event, and I wasn’t one to disappoint, not out of loyalty, but necessity. It wasn’t lost on me that this was more about his reputation than anything else. Still, I couldn’t deny the small flicker of satisfaction as I glanced at my reflection. For once, I felt more... powerful. My phone buzzed on the vanity, snapping me out of my thoughts. Drew’s name lit up the screen. A knot tightened in my stomach. He’d been persistent, relentless even, since the day Marco had oh-so-kindly outed me as “Mrs. De Luca.” Drew’s curiosity had morphed into determination, a dangerous cocktail

Nicholas’s Point Of ViewThe world seemed to narrow around me as my fist kept colliding with the bastard's face, the satisfying crunch echoing in the silence of the rooftop. Blood splattered, staining his skin and my knuckles, but I didn’t care. The only thing I could think of was his audacity. His fucking audacity to touch my wife, to think he could steal her away, let alone put his rotten lips on her.“Don’t you ever lay your hands on my wife again!” I growled, my voice as cold and sharp as a blade. Each word punctuated with another punishing blow.“Please Nicholas, stop!” Elena’s pleading voice cut through the haze of my anger, desperate and trembling. It took a moment for her cries to register, but when they did, I froze mid-punch. Slowly, I rose from Drew, my chest heaving with unspent rage. His face was a mangled mess, blood pouring freely as he groaned in pain beneath me.I straightened, wiping the blood off my knuckles with deliberate precision, my movements slow and calculate

Nicholas’s Point Of ViewThe sunlight pierced through the curtains, golden and unrelenting, burning into my skull like a cruel reminder of my hangover. My temples throbbed, and the bitter taste of last night's whiskey still lingered on my tongue. Groaning slightly, I pressed a hand to my forehead, wincing as the dull ache intensified.I shifted slightly, and that’s when I felt some thing, a gentle presence beside me. My head turned slowly, and there she wasElena! Her face was serene, lips slightly parted as she breathed softly, her hair splayed across the pillow like a dark halo.I couldn’t look away. For a moment, all my fury and confusion melted away. Her beauty was almost too much to bear, as if God had sculpted her from the heavens just to torment me. My gaze traveled over the delicate slope of her nose, the curve of her jawline, and the way her lashes rested like shadows on her cheeks. What would it be like to wake up to this beauty every morning? Elena's Point Of ViewThe door clicked shut behind me as I leaned against it, my heart hammering against my chest like a caged bird. The image of Nicholas, towel slung low on his hips, droplets of water clinging to his sculpted abs was burned into my mind. My cheeks flamed as I replayed the moment over and over, like some foolish teenager with a crush."What the hell was wrong with me?" I shook my head, trying to dislodge the thought. "He wasn’t my husband by choice, and I wasn’t some starry-eyed girl dreaming of a happy-ever-after. Nicholas was cold, calculating, and dangerous, everything I didn’t want in a partner." I murmured. But damn it if he didn’t look like a god.I straightened my posture, determined to shake the silly thoughts. This marriage wasn’t real. It was survival. Nothing more. Spotting the pack of pills on my bed, I grabbed it and headed toward Nanny Elizabeth’s room. When I knocked softly on the door, her familiar raspy voice called out, “Come in, dear.”I stepped in

  • The Mafia's Little Obsession   Chapter 55: The Castillos Strike

Nicholas's Point Of ViewThe morning sun filtered through the heavy drapes of my study, but its warmth did little to thaw the icy rage simmering in my chest. I had spent most of the night after Elena had slept off strategizing, trying to tie up loose ends before sending Elena away. I hated the idea of her leaving my side, but the constant threats from the Castillos over her head were becoming too frequent, too reckless. Keeping her here was no longer an option, it wasn’t safe.I leaned back in my chair, running a hand through my hair. A half-empty coffee mug sat on the desk beside a stack of reports I hadn’t even glanced at. My focus was on Elena and the promise I had made to her the night before. She deserved better than this chaos, better than me. But I'd be damned if I was going to let anyone harm her.Looking at the time it was barely 7am, It was time. I had woken Elena up earlier to pack her things, and Alejandro and the men were already stationed outside, waiting to escort us.

  • The Mafia's Little Obsession   Chapter 54: A Promise

Nicholas's Point Of View The weight of my decisions pressed against my chest like a vice. Elena's retreating figure haunted my mind as I paced the sitting room, each step echoing in the silence. I needed her away from here... for her safety, for her sanity, and for mine. But Elena wasn’t one to back down, especially not when she believed in standing her ground. My hand instinctively reached for the wine bar. I grabbed a bottle of Martini, poured a generous amount into a glass, and downed it in one go. The liquid burned as it slid down my throat, igniting something within me.. A resolve, perhaps, or desperation. I poured another glass and stared into the amber liquid, willing it to give me the clarity I so desperately needed."I can't let her stay," I muttered to myself, the words barely audible in the empty room. My reflection in the window stared back at me, as hollow and uncertain as I felt.Elena didn’t deserve to see the side of me that was about to resurface, the side that thriv

  • The Mafia's Little Obsession   Chapter 53: A Deadly Warning

Elena’s Point Of View The chilled morning air bit at my skin as I wandered down the empty path leading from Nicholas’s estate. Each step felt heavier than the last, my thoughts spinning in endless circles. The world I had willingly stepped into, for love or madness, was far darker than I had imagined. The image of Alejandro rushing down the hallway replayed in my mind, paired with the fragmented pieces of the conversation I had overheard. "The Castillos are back. Elena is the key." Those words had rooted themselves deep in my chest, suffocating every breath I tried to take.I needed air, space to think and clear my mind But even as I walked, my unease grew. The quiet was too absolute, too unnatural. The sound of footsteps behind me made me pause. My heart stuttered, and I spun around, but the path was empty."Get it together, Elena, stop hallucinating for pits sake!" I muttered under my breath, forcing myself to keep walking.A few more steps, and then it happened so fast, a hand cla

Nicholas’s Point Of ViewThe room smelled of blood and sweat, a sickening combination that clung to my skin as I leaned against the cold metal table. The man before me, tied to a chair, was a trembling mess. His face was swollen, his lip split, and his breathing shallow. Yet, he refused to talk.I gripped the edge of the table, my knuckles turning white as I fought to keep my temper in check. “You’ve got one last chance,” I growled, my voice low and deadly. “Who were you working for, what have you been feeding them about me and what do they plan to do ?”The mole spat blood onto the floor, his defiance almost admirable if it weren’t so fucking infuriating. “You’re already finished,” he rasped, a twisted smile tugging at his lips. “The Castillos know everything there is to know about you. Your empire? It’s crumbling, and there’s nothing you can do to stop it.”I slammed my fist into the table, the sound reverberating through the room. “Wrong answer,” I hissed. Grabbing the knife from t

  • The Mafia's Little Obsession   Chapter 51: Whispers of Danger

Elena’s Point Of ViewI woke up to the rhythmic rise and fall of Nicholas’s chest beneath my cheek, his arms wrapped protectively around me like a cocoon. For a fleeting moment, the world felt distant, a faint echo beyond the safety of his embrace. He looked peaceful in his sleep, a stark contrast to the man who commanded an empire with sharp words and colder actions.I traced the faint scar on his jaw with my finger, wondering about the stories he’d never told me. How many battles had he fought, both physical and emotional to get to this moment? A smile crept onto my lips as I imagined waking up like this every day. Maybe, just maybe, this could work. Not wanting to wake him, I slipped out of bed, the cool floor beneath my feet grounding me. I decided to surprise him with breakfast, something normal amidst our not-so-normal lives. As I tiptoed down the grand staircase, the scents of coffee and sizzling bacon wafted through the air.The kitchen staff was already at it, bustling like a

  • The Mafia's Little Obsession   Chapter 50: A Moment of Peace

Nicholas Point Of ViewThe sound of waves crashing against the shore was almost hypnotic. For the first time in what felt like years, there was no noise from the outside world, no phones ringing, no gunshots, no shouted orders or whispered threats. Just the ocean, the breeze, and her.I glanced at Elena, who walked beside me, her bare feet sinking into the soft sand with every step. She looked out at the horizon, where the sun was beginning its slow descent, casting the sky in hues of gold and crimson. She was quiet, her usual fire dimmed by the weight of everything we’d been through lately. She deserved this. A break. A moment of peace.Hell, we both deserved it.“You’re quiet,” I said, breaking the silence. She glanced at me, her lips curving into a faint smile. “Just trying to take it all in. It’s… beautiful here.”I nodded, shoving my hands into my pockets. “It is. I figured we could use a change of scenery.”Her smile widened, but there was something hesitant in her gaze. “And wh

  • The Mafia's Little Obsession   Chapter 49: Cracks in the Armor

Elena's Point Of ViewI didn’t know how I had ended up here again, wrapped in Nicholas’s arms for what felt like the millionth time in the past two weeks. His fingers combed through my hair with slow, deliberate strokes, as if the rhythm alone could calm the chaos in my mind. It almost worked. Almost. The soft glow of the bedside lamp cast shadows across the room, highlighting the strong lines of his jaw. I tilted my head slightly to look at him, his face unreadable but serene. My thoughts churned, too loud to ignore, and before I could stop myself, the question escaped my lips.“How did you end up with the Mafia?”The moment the words hung in the air, I felt his body tense beneath me. For a heartbeat, I regretted asking, but I needed to know. I needed to understand.Nicholas’s hand paused in my hair, then resumed its gentle motion. He sighed heavily, his chest rising and falling beneath my cheek. “It’s not a story I like telling,” he murmured, his voice barely above a whisper.“Pleas

Elena's Point Of ViewI woke up to the dull throb of a headache pounding behind my temples, and the bright light streaming through the curtains didn’t help. I groaned, pulling the duvet over my head to block out the assaulting rays of sunlight. But then it hit me, the pillow under my head wasn’t soft. It was warm and… breathing. My eyes shot open, and I froze. I was sprawled across Nicholas’s chest. His bare, hard chest.“Shit,” I whispered under my breath, the memories of last night slamming into me like a freight train. The wine. The laughter. The kiss. My cheeks burned as I pieced it all together.Carefully, I shifted to sit up, clutching the duvet tightly around me. The realization that I was naked under it sent another wave of embarrassment crashing over me. How the hell had this happened?Just as I was about to slip out quietly, an arm snaked around my waist, pulling me back.“And where do you think you’re going?” Nicholas’s deep, husky morning voice stopped me dead in my tracks

  • The Mafia's Little Obsession   Chapter 47: Unexpected

Elena's Point Of ViewThe day started with a surprise, a rare one from Nicholas. “You have a spa appointment,” he said over breakfast, his tone casual yet firm, as if it wasn’t up for discussion.I raised an eyebrow, setting down my fork. “A spa appointment? Since when do you care about that?”He smirked, leaning back in his chair. “Since now. Just go, Elena. Trust me for once.”The word trust lingered between us like an unwelcome guest. Trust wasn’t something Nicholas and I shared. Still, I had no fight left in me today, so I went.I sat in the spa, letting the therapists work their magic. The soft hum of music, the soothing scents of lavender and eucalyptus, and the gentle hands kneading the tension out of my shoulders should have relaxed me, but my mind was elsewhere. Nicholas De Luca didn’t do nice. He didn’t do thoughtful."What was his angle?"I mulled over it as the spa attendants wrapped my face in a cooling mask. Maybe he felt guilty for his constant coldness. Or maybe this w
