Diablo:
“It took the two of you a bit too long for us to actually believe that it was just you getting ready for dinner.” Maria teased, walking towards us.
I could see her anger in her eyes as she looked at Sienna. Sienna, however, chose not to say a word. Instead, she kept her attention on us, on me and the children.
“We sent Juliano to call for you an hour ago. What would have happened if the food became cold?” Maria asked, raising an eyebrow.
“I would have had dinner with my wife. I doubt that there should be an issue.” I sighed, crossing my arms over my chest.
“That is not why we asked you to come and join us. We asked you to come because it has been a long time since we've had a family dinner. Something that you have been ignoring, dearest brother.” She said, taking a step back.
The fact that I was seeing her on her feet was something that I was more than a little grateful for, especially after everything that has happened, especially after what the fucker had done to her.
Her face and the pool of blood that she was laying on played in my head for a few moments and I couldn't help but find myself getting lost in my thoughts before snapping myself out of the daze.
Sienna’s cheeks reddened as she looked at Maria, raising an arm brow and looking at her children. They looked up at us.
“Now I know where Juliano is getting his attitude. The last thing that we need Maria, is for him to have an attitude and for him to be neglecting his duties, even if it means just school. We don't want him to grow up being reckless and he needs to learn to be responsible. That is not going to happen if you teach him otherwise.” Sienna said, and Maria looked at Juliano, who looked away from her.
“The last thing that I would do is teach my nephew how to be reckless towards his studies. I did my best when it came to mind. I'm not going to put my nephew in a situation where he is going to ignore whatever he has to do. However, you know for a fact that I'm not going to force him to do them either, especially with you not being around, Sienna.” I cleared my throat at them, stopping them from arguing. They did not need to argue in front of the children. It was not something that I wanted them to see or even learn.
Something inside me once believed that both Maria and Sienna were going to get along. However, it seems to me that the closer they became, the more they turned into enemies. The two of them just ignored one another and pretended that neither one of them existed.
“How about we have our dinner? The kids need to go get ready for bed. I believe that you know that, Maria.” I said, looking at my sister, whose eyes avoided my own.
Mom, who was sitting at the head of the table, looked at me. Considering that father was not in town, she would normally sit at the head of the table across from me. She did not say a word, but I could tell that she did not like me defending Sienna against Maria. It was off to like that between us. Whenever I defended Sienna, she would be angry and would choose Maria's side. No matter how wrong Maria could be, mother would always choose her side.
“Somethings never change, it seems.” That was her only comment before she looked at me as I sat beside my wife.
Sienna looked down at her plate, avoiding my mother's eyes. My mother went from being her mother-in-law to her enemy and choosing my side. Sienna chose to avoid conflicts with her. It was something that often annoyed my mother. She never had anything to tell her. However, I knew that things were only at the beginning, especially now.
Flashback:
“Her presence within the family is going to cost us a lot, Diablo. It all red. You almost cost your sister's life. And I did stand up with it. I did tolerate it. But now that her mother is dead, her brother is dead, Alonzo is against us. What do you think is going to happen? You know that things are going to turn against us if you don't stop this, if you don't push her away, Diablo, Just send her back to her father. That is what he wants. That is what everyone wants. We are going to end this war.” Mom said, not caring about the fact that not only was my wife pregnant, but that she gave everything up for me.
“One thing that I'm going to set straight and I don't want to hear of this nonsense ever again. Sienna is my wife and she is going to be my wife until my last breath. The last thing that I want is for anyone to think against that, to see her any less than that. No one is going to take her place and if you want me to push her away then please stop it. I am not going to do so. Sienna is going to be in my life until my last breath. That is an oath that I made, and I believe that you know that very well.” I said, defending my wife. Her eyes widened and I could tell that she did not like it.
“Even if your wife's presence could cause us danger. The Diablo that I knew always put his family first.” She said, and I smirked.
“And I believe that you should know and keep in mind that Sienna is my family.” I said, taking a step back. “I don't want to hear of this topic again. Am I clear, mother…?”
End of Flashback.
“And they never will. I did say to get used to it, but it seems to me that it is going to be almost impossible. Isn't it…?”
Sienna:“Are you sure that as a married woman you should be going out of the house at this time of night?” Natania asked from behind me. I had to turn around to face her, and she raised an eyebrow, crossing her arms over her chest.“Diablo is well aware that I'm going out and I doubt that I'm going to need to ask you for permission considering that my husband knows and that I am this family’s…”“You don't need to ask me for permission to do anything. I was asking if it was wise of you to go out at this time of night. What are people going to say? Or that does not concern you, considering that you don't really care about the reputation of the family, do you?” She asked, hitting me with something that she knew was not true. She was only taking out her anger because Diablo was disagreeing with Maria.“Is there anything that you need from me, Natania? Because I believe that you have things to take care of and neither one of them should include me. What I do and what I am up to concerns my
Diablo:“I am trying to find a good reason behind why you are treating Sienna the way that you are. However, nothing makes sense. I know they have no reason behind hating her and yet all you seem to do is throw your hate and anger at her and I want to know why.” I said, crossing my arms over my chest as I saw my mother standing in the living room. Her back was to me as she looked out the window and though she did not turn her face me, I could tell that she tensed. She was not happy by my question, but after hearing what I did and after the way that she spoke to her as if accusing her, I knew that I could not just let it slide. “Your beloved did not take any time to tell you what happened. I was surprised. I figured that she would wait at least until she got home. It seems to me that she wanted to leave before the storm started, didn't she?” Mom said, not looking at me. “If you are curious, then you should know by the way that you look at your sister, the way that you treat her and the
Chapter 7Sienna:“After everything that happened, you have some guts approaching me right now.” I said, looking at Alonzo, knowing that he was alone. The idea of him coming so close to the house was one that I did not expect, but knowing that he was here, I knew that he would not come here for good news. The man was coming here to give me information or to give me a warning. Either way, I didn't like his presence.“I figured that seeing you and talking to you would be a lot easier than speaking to Diablo. Diablo would not listen, but you would, simply because you are willing to give a chance. Otherwise, you would have followed me when you believed that you saw me. Diablo would have done so. You did not.” He said coldly. I raised an eyebrow at him and crossed my arms over my chest. The man was really delusional if he believed anything that he was saying.“The idea of you suggesting that I would have let you go tells me how much you have changed, Alonzo. Then again, the fact that you a
Diablo:I frowned when I took sight of Sienna, looking as lost as she did.She did not look at me, but I knew that she was aware, though if we had arrived, the car screeching caught her attention.I looked in the direction of the car, the black car that drove away from her, and I couldn't help the frown that formed on my face as I got out of the car.She seemed far too perplexed to react. And when I wrapped my arm around her, when I pulled her to my chest, she fisted my shirt and let out tears, sobbing out her pain for the first time in a very long time. For a long time, she’s been locking them in and I knew that today, whatever happened, it was the last thing that she needed. It was the last drop that had her break down.“What happened? Talk to me, Sienna. What happened? Who was it? What did he tell you?” I asked gently. She didn't say a word for a few moments, but when she looked upon me, my heart dropped when I saw the pain in her eyes. I gently wiped her tears, keeping my eyes on
Sienna:“Thank you for this, Diablo.” I said, looking at my husband, who raised an eyebrow at me.“Since when do you have to thank me for doing something for you? This is not only for your mental state but also for the family. And not only for that, but I care about you relaxing, Sienna, and I know for a fact that it has been a very long time since you've done so. Staying out of the house is going to be good for you. It is going to be for good for the two of us.” He said, and I smiled. I looked at the kids who were playing around together and it has been a very long time since I've seen them like this.“We haven't been spending much time with them. It seems to me that they have felt it too. Look at Ariana and Alberto. Even Juliano seems calm.” I said, and he nodded. He studied my expression for a few moments, noticing how distressed I looked. I was after what happened with Alonzo. I was upset. I didn't understand why I was, but I did not like any of what happened.“What if Alonzo can
Diablo:“Good morning.” Sienna said, smiling at me.She raised herself on my chest to look me in the eye and I smiled, tightening my arms around her, pulling her closer as I connected my lips with hers. She smiled into the kiss and ran her finger over my chest.“Good morning, beautiful.” I said softly. “When did you wake up? I expected you to sleep. And especially considering that we don't have anything to do today, and the kids are not going to school.”“My biological watch decided otherwise. I woke up a while ago, but I chose to stay in bed, laying in your arms and embracing the touch that you had on me. It has been a while since the two of us have spent a while longer in bed without worrying about work.” She said, making my eyes brighten. She was right about that. The two of us often got up early, considering that we needed to take care of the kids, or that she wanted to be sure that the kids were ready for school. No matter the number of maids, tutors and nannies that we had, she
Sienna:“I don't know how you managed to do it, but you turned my son against me and that is not something that I am going to let go of.” Natania said, calling me.The last thing that I expected was a call from her so soon, but I knew to expect the worst now that she was calling. The woman was angry that her son chose to have us sleeping at a hotel and considering that the kids were with us, that was not something that she liked. I knew that for a fact.“Is there anything that you want to tell me? Something that you want me to deliver to Diablo? If not, then please. I have things to take care of and my family to tend to. I don't want to ruin my day, nor do I want to ruin theirs. Therefore please.” I said calmly, and though I could not see her, I knew that she was furious. The woman did not like being told something that she did not want to do. Hell, she did not even like me telling her what to do. And the idea of me telling her off was something that she was not going to easily accept
Diablo:“So, when do you want to talk to me and tell me what is bothering you, Sienna?” I asked gently.Sienna didn't say a word for a few moments, but when she turned to face me, I could tell that she was angry. Something had happened and she was trying to hide that from me.Ariana looks between the two of us, and when she looked down at her plate, I could tell that something had happened, that she knew what happened. Our daughter knew not to lie, and the idea that she was hiding something was not one that I liked, and I knew that Sienna would not allow it, unless it was important.“Ariana, do you want to tell papa what's going on?” I asked, looking at my daughter. Sienna's eyes widened in surprise, and she went to open her mouth, but I raised my hand, stopping her.Ariana looked at her mother for a moment and I could tell, despite not saying word, that she was silently apologizing to her, that this was something that she did not want to do. Thankfully, the kids were in the living roo
Third Person Point of View:“Open the door for me.” She called, trying to get those servants that worked for her to open the door. She wanted to leave the house again, but she knew that she was not allowed to do so.“Ma’am, you know that you are not allowed to leave.” One of the maids said, looking at her. She raised an eyebrow and crossed her arms over her chest as she studied her expression.“I am curious about the way that you think that you are able to speak to me. Is it because my son is allowing you to do so? I am curious how much is he paying you, you know, to keep me locked here? How much does he keep paying you on a monthly basis? Does he pay you daily? Is it enough for you to sustain yourself?” She asked, looking at the maid whose heart raced against her ribcage. She wanted nothing more than to leave this place. That was something that the maid knew for sure, but she knew her job well and she kept it held until she was done with it.“Ma’am, with all due respect, I'm going to
Sienna:“Do you think that it is a good idea for him to go on his own, Diablo?” I asked, looking at my husband whose eyes softened as he looked at his father leaving towards the car.“Though I don't want him to leave, I know that it is good for him to go. He wants to find his own way and I do not want to stop him. I don't want to be the person to get in his way when it comes to that. I know that it is not something that you might understand right now, but I know that it is the right thing to do.” He said. And I could tell that he was ignoring the cleanse that formed on his chest, that he was trying to fight back the pain that he felt.Even the children were upset that their grandfather was leaving. This was not something that we wanted to happen. After him and I seem to have made-up a little relationship with daughter and father relationship, the idea of him just leaving again was not one that I wanted to think about. And when Diablo told me that him walking me down that altar was bec
Diablo:“What changed, old man?” I asked, approaching my father as he took a sip of his Scotch. “You did not want her approaching you, nor did you want to approach her. What's that really changed for you to actually want to be by her side?”“Nothing changed, son. However, I came to realize that she was making you happy, and not only you, but that the kids were happy and content, that they were being raised in a way that the Duraturo family line should be. They were being raised to be strong, independent and able to do what they wanted to do. She was making sure of that and that is something that I wanted to her to actually understand.” He said and I raised an eyebrows. I crossed my arms over my chest, waiting to understand what he was going to tell me about this. This was going to be impossible for me to just simply believe.“You want me to believe that after the months of you not wanting to talk to her, after the months of you telling her off, and after the months of you actually pus
Sienna:To say that I was nervous was going to be an understatement. And the fact that my children did not make this any better was something that I was not going to be able to deny. If anything, their questions only made me a little more nervous.“Mama, where are you going to be marrying Papa again?” Juliano asked, smiling at me.“Mama, who's going to walk you down the aisle?” Ariana asked, looking at me.And some of their questions actually hurt my feelings. Not because they did anything wrong, On the contrary, it was because they did not have any answer to give them. It was because I knew that they had the right to ask, but I did not know how I was going to respond, especially when I knew that this was a fact that should have been settled with every single girl. But when I stood, knowing that I was going to walk down that altar alone, I found myself feeling weak. I found myself wondering how I was going to be able to do it. The first time I walked with my father, it was under threa
Diablo:I watched as my wife walked down the altar. The smile that formed on my face was one that I could not contain. And I knew that everyone that was watching, everyone that was here, saw that in my eyes, saw that in my gaze, saw that in how calm I was. This was a moment that I did not expect to happen. Not again. At least not this way. Not in this most genuine and beautiful way that it could happen. And the fact that I knew that she was not only now representing me, not only now walking towards me, but also wanting to come. She had chosen this. And the memory of it was one that I was never going to be able to forget. It was one that was going to stick in my head until the end of time, until I took my last breath.Flashback: “Diablo…”“I want you to say that you want this, I want you to be willing to want this, and I want you to be in love with every moment of this.” I said, stopping her. “The first time we've got married, the two of us were forced into it. The first time you walk
Sienna:Diablo was hiding something, and whatever it was, I knew that I wanted to find out about it.Though I knew that it might not be something that I didn't like, I also knew that he was acting too odd for my liking. The way that he was being sweet, loving, kind, I doubted that it was only for the two of us to make up. There was something else to it. I just couldn't put my finger on it. I couldn't understand what he had in mind and what he wanted to do.All I knew was this. If I knew my husband did not find you, that he was hiding something, was it pain? Did he plan on leaving? Was he going to do something that I did not like? That was not something that I understood. That was not something that I knew“Diablo, do you want to tell me what it is that you have in mind, my love?” I asked as I lay on his chest. His back was against an oak tree. He didn't say a word for a few moments, he just tightened his arms around me. Our love session was one that I did not expect, especially not in
Diablo:I smiled when my wife and I walked out of the house. That you of us being the married couple that we were when we first started being in love.It was not an aspect that I would have expected, but I was thankful for every moment that one time between us. I was thankful for the fact that she was more than willing to actually give me a chance to be her husband, to be the man that she wanted to be with.“Do you want to tell me what you are thinking?” Sienna asked, noticing that I was quiet.“I am thinking about how lucky I am to have you as a wife, how lucky I am to have you by my side. Despite everything those two of us have gone through, you chose me. You're still choosing me every single day.” I said, and she smiled.“I think that you know that the two of us made that deal a long time ago. It is us against the world, no matter what happens. And that means regardless of what you might do, I'm not going to end up pushing you away. If anything, I'm going to keep giving you a chanc
Sienna:Diablo had his arm wrapped around me as I lay on his chest. The two of us would look at one another before looking away as we got lost in one another's embrace. For the first time in a very long time, the two of us were just together, lovers, man and wife, without complications, without responsibilities and without all the pain that we've been forced to deal with.“I thought that you were going to sleep.” He whispered as he caught sight of me looking up at him.“I would have, but I can't bring myself to do so. The idea of being by your side right now is one that I've never thought it would actually happen again, and I'm more than happy that we are living through something like this.” I said softly. He smiled as he tightened his arms around me, and pulling away from his embrace, I sat, straddling his lap.“It has been a while since the two of us have been together, away from all the responsibilities that we were forced to deal with. I would admit that much.” He said, and I nodd
Diablo:I tightened my arms around my wife as I pulled her closer to me, taking a deep breath, inhaling her, smelled her perfume was one that I found myself growing to admire. She had changed it, but it was one that suited her even more.I can try not letting my lips linger there, sucking on her sweet spots, loving the effect that I knew that I was having on her. I knew that she was going to try and deny it, but it was only a matter of time before her body gave in to me. Then again, she was not the time to actually give me a hard time when it came to showing me the effect that I had on her.“Do you know how much I love you?” I whispered to her, letting my hot breath hit her earlobe. She moaned in response and I smirked before biting on her earlobe, sucking on it gently. There was a reason why I wanted this to be between the two of us, why I wanted her to be away from the house. I wanted her to remember that there was the two of us against everything. It was the two of us that would st
