Is He Angry?

ELENA'S POV

My eyes widened as the man left me in shock and stared mouth agape at Luca.

I guess that was my reaction also. Surprise.

Luca sighed and looked at me, walking to me.

“Are you all right?” He asked, his dark eyes looking over my skin while I watched him with fascination.

The man took a step back, his lips quivering. “Your…your wife?” He stuttered.

“Yes, my wife. I should kill you for touching her but I'm in a good mood. Scram. If I ever see you bother her again, I'll paint the pavement with your blood” his voice was low and threatening.

The man immediately gulped and scrambled away.

“I thought you said you had some business to take care of” I muttered refusing to meet his gaze as I shrugged off his hand and dusted myself, my hair sticking out in bits.

He frowned at how I pulled away from his touch but he didn't comment on it, his hand finding their way into his trousers as usual.

“I know what I said but I had a feeling that something was wrong,” He said, his gaze still fixed on me.

We would have to talk about it. This whole thing about me stealing. We would but I wasn't sure how to cross that line that I had built around myself again.

He sighed and tilted his head. “You all right?” He asked, his voice breathy and hot against my skin as he leaned in closer to stare at me properly.

I leaned back, conscious of how close we were, and looked away, my cheeks flushed. “I'm fine”, I repeated.

“Oh shit…” someone's voice sounded from the top of the alley, breaking the moment.

Luca sighed and leaned back while I turned to see his cousin standing there, staring at us with barely contained hatred and disgust.

“What are you doing out here, Gabriel?” Luca asked, his tone a bit irritated.

The man frowned and raised the object in his hand. A cigarette. “Came out for a smoke. Didn't expect to see your wife and you here doing whatever this is…”, he spoke, putting the cigarette between his teeth and pulling out a lighter.

I looked down at my feet just as Luna placed a hand on the small of my back.

“We should get going right, honey?” His tone was velvety and smooth, the sound grating my senses smoothly.

“Yeah, we should,” I said, smiling as his cousin barely paid us any attention.

Luca was angry about something, I could tell that much but I didn't know if it was me.

“Go wait in the car, dear,” he said, gently pushing me forward.

Not bothering to argue, I walked off to the car while he stayed behind to talk to his cousin.

As I walked back, I turned around my shoulder to see Luca talking to his cousin who was still fumbling with his lighter. The last thing I saw before they were out of my sight was the cousin angrily pulling out the cigarette from his pale lips and gesticulating wildly.

Okay. An argument.

As soon as I reached the car, the chauffeur opened the car door and ushered me inside.

I got in, fidgeting with my nails then my eyes caught sight of a shiny ring on the floor, looks like it fell from Luca. I should leave it but the impulse to pick it up was strong so I cursed and picked it up, sliding the cold metal over my finger and my eyes shining in excitement.

The car door was suddenly thrown open and Luca got in without a word. Instinctively, I hid the finger that held the ring and looked out the window unable to meet his eyes that were blazing with anger

The driver got in and with our escorts, we drove away back to the mansion that had become my home.

Apparently, Luca said he had already provided for all my basic needs and wants in the house already so I didn't need to pack the little amount of belongings in my shabby home

Throughout the ride back home, Luca didn't say a word, and barely acknowledged my presence, and that in itself was annoying because he was sitting right next to me and we weren't far apart in any way, it was almost like our bodies were touching.

“Sir, would you like to stop at the club on the way home? She sent a message saying she had told you”, the driver suddenly said, sending Luca an inquisitive glare.

My eyebrows furrowed in confusion. Who's she?

Luca grunted and placed his hand under his chin while looking out the window.

“Drive home. Don't bring that up again. You are warned, Michael” He said, his voice a low warning.

The driver knew better than to say anything, he muttered a yes then focused on driving.

As soon as the mansion which I presumed to be his pulled up into view, my jaw dropped open and I gaped at it. It was enormous. I had truly hit the jackpot

Luca got down and I climbed out after him, my gaze still fixed on the 3 storey house that looked large enough to house 500 people if needed. Did he live here alone?

My train of thoughts were interrupted as he spoke while staring at me with a weird look in his eyes.

“Let's get in”, with that, he walked off into the building and I immediately trailed after him.

The doors slid open and we walked inside or rather I walked in, my jaw slack as I took in the luxurious house I had found myself.

A throat clearing behind me made me turn around to look at Luca who had folded his hands.

“What?” I asked, my eye brow raised.

He frowned at me which was not common considering that he had been in a good mood around me but now he seemed pissed off.

“Elena. We need to talk. Now” his voice held no room for argument and I knew what he was referring to.

I would have to tell him about what was wrong with me but the question was how would he take it?
