Investigation

Antonio just finished with his morning workout and headed back to his suite to freshen up. But before he did that, he sent for Luca to get the reports of the exchange last night.

Luca reported to his suite immediately. "Good morning boss", Luca bowed slightly. "Hmm,,,how did it go yesterday night,,,heard that Nico played his tricks again", Antonio said. "It went well,,,,we bagged 60 million naira home", Luca said and Antonio nodded.

"Okay,,,get dressed, we're leaving for the company in an hour", Antonio said and Luca made to open the door but stopped when he remembered something. "Lest I forget, we brought a young girl,,,we're suspecting she's part of Nico's gang", Luca said.

Antonio stopped what he was doing and looked at Luca. "Where's she", Antonio asked. "She's in the dark room, awaiting your judgement", Luca replied

"I'll take care of that when we come back but right now we have to be in the company." Antonio said and stepped into the bathroom to take his bath while Luca left to do the same.

In thirty minutes time, Luca had already finished dressing up in a black tux and black shirt. He walked to the car and waited for Antonio.

Venitia watched Luca walk to the car from the window and smiled. "He's just too handsome", Venitia said dreamily and Gemma scoffed. "We all know he's no where compared to the boss in terms of looks", Gemma said with a sly smile.

Antonio finished dressing up too shortly after. He was dressed in a navy blue tux with a white shirt. He gelled his hair perfectly backwards and left some strands to fall on his forehead, giving him that hot look. He carried his briefcase and went to the car to join Luca.

"Now that's what you call handsome", Gemma said to Venitia earning a scoff from her. They left the window to attend a meeting.

Antonio entered the car and Grassi drove off with convoy of cars tailing them.Truth be told, Antonio doesn't need bodyguards and flocks of cars following him.

He's got quite good combat skills he can use to defend himself anytime but since he's in the public eye, gossips can go around and sooner or later,,,the world will find out he's a Mafia boss.

Grassi stopped in front of Rossi's company. "We're here boss", Grassi said and Antonio didn't say a word. He opened the door and got down from the car while Luca picked up his suitcase.

Antonio adjusted his blazers and set his cufflinks properly before walking into the company with Luca by the side and the bodyguards at the back.

"He's so hot as usual"

"Just look at the boss, isn't he handsome"

" Y'all are forgetting Luca,,,he's so sexy"

Many murmurs and comments coming from everyone which sounded disgusting to Antonio's ears and angered him.

"Last person to get back to his or her work should submit his resignation letter", Antonio said seriously and in less than a minute, everyone obeyed and the company was silent again.

"You", Antonio called, gazing at a man. The man stood up immediately with sweat on his face,,,one could tell he was scared. "Please don't fire me", the man pleaded and Antonio scoffed.

"I need the reports of what has been happening in this company. Don't waste my time", Antonio ordered and entered his office. The man immediately gathered all the files containing the activities of the company,,,went to Antonio's office and knocked.

He was let in almost immediately since Antonio already informed the bodyguards that someone is coming to see him immediately.

The man met Antonio sitting on the chair and looking outside through the transparent glass walls. The walls were designed in such a way that you can see what's happening outside but people outside can't see what is going on inside.

"Ahem", the man cleared his throat before going on with his sentence. "Boss,,these are the reports you requested for", the man said and placed the files on the table with shaky hands.

Antonio turned the chair around and faced him. Antonio dragged the files closer so he could have a proper look at it. He opened the file and started reading.

His expression changed drastically and one could tell that the aura be was exhibiting now was terrific,,,,there was tension in the office.

The man knew this was going to happen because Antonio's reputation was at stake. "What's the meaning of this", Antonio roared loudly, making the man standing to flinch back quickly.

"Have you suddenly gone mute or deaf,,,tell me what the fuck is this. Only one week I left the company in you all hands and all these happened. No one even cared to inform me", Antonio yelled and banged the table hardly.

"I'm sorry sir, we don't know how this happened", the man stammered. "How will you know??,,,Now I know I have bunch of foolish and incompetent workers in this company. Get out!!!", Antonio yelled and the man scurried out of his office.

Luca stepped in when the man left and found Antonio massaging his temples with a frown plastered on his face."Boss,,, what's wrong", Luca asked. "Take a look at this", Antonio said and flung the file to Luca. Luca took a look at them and frowned.

"How did this happen,,,they fucking copied our technology and launched it as their own", Luca said with anger. "How did he get his hands on our tech,,,it's top secret. Not even my father knows about it", Antonio said.

"I know this may sound annoying but I think we have a spy in our midst,,,, that's the only possible explanation for this", Luca said and Antonio looked at him and stood up.

"You have an idea,,,but we have loyal staffs. That means for the person to have betrayed us, he must have been threatened with something important", Antonio said.

"Luca,,,take a break for today and dig more on this,,,I want results by tomorrow", Antonio said. "Trust me boss", Luca said and left the company immediately,,,he went to the clan.

Venitia was just taking a stroll when she sighted a familiar figure from afar. "Why is he back this early or has the boss given him another important assignment", Venitia muttered.

"Hi Luca", Venitia waved when Luca was close by. "Hey Venitia,,how are you", Luca asked with affectionate eyes. "Fine. Uhm,, why are you back this early. I mean, it's barely two hours since you and boss left and now you're back,,,, without him", Venitia said

"The boss gave me an assignment,,,a rival company, K.C corporation stole the new technology we were planning to launch on the third of next month", Luca said and Venitia frowned

"How did that happen,, maybe someone in the company sold out the technology for whatever reason I don't know", Venitia said. "Exactly what I'm thinking but the workers are well paid so you won't say the person did that because of money", Luca said

"Maybe someone more powerful, threatened the person with something precious to him", Venitia said

"There's only one way to find out", Luca said,,,he walked to his room and picked up his laptop,,,ready to hack. Venitia followed him to assist him.

Luca started typing furiously on the keyboard,,,he was typing things that Venitia couldn't understand.

"What was I thinking when I offered to help you,,,I know nothing about hacking. I'll just take my leave, see you later", Venitia said and Luca felt bad.

"Don't go. You don't know how to hack doesn't mean you can not be of help me", Luca said, not taking his eyes off the screen of his laptop.

Venitia squinted her eyes at him."And how can I help you", Venitia asked. "By getting me a glass of juice", Luca requested.

"Do I look like a maid to you", Venitia asked. "Okay, I'm sorry. Send the maid to get it for me please,,,I'm very thirsty", Luca said and Venitia scoffed.

She walked outside,,,went to the kitchen,,brought out an orange juice from the fridge and picked up a glass cup before going back to Luca's room.

She entered and poured the juice into the cup and placed it in front of him. "Here,,have some juice", Venitia said

"Sorry can you please place the cup on my lips,,,I can't use my hands now or u might loose track of what I'm doing", Luca said.

She did as he said. He drank the whole content and felt refreshed."Thank you so much", Luca said, making Venitia smile

Luca kept on typing fastly on his laptop, his shoulders and fingers were already aching him but he could not complain. He's been hacking for so many years so he's already used to the pain. Venitia looked at him worriedly.

"He's been sitting and typing non-stop,,,won't his shoulders be in pain", she thought. She stood up and walked to him, she started massaging his shoulders gently. Luca smiled,, feeling relaxed and more comfortable than before. "Thanks Venitia,,I don't know what I'd have done without you", Luca said and Venitia blushed.

After some minutes, Luca found the information he was looking for. "Venitia, come see this", Luca said and Venitia rushed over. Venitia's eyes widened when she saw Lucius, the CEO of K.C corporation bribing a staff of Antonio's company.

"So it was Lucius that did all these", Venitia gasped. "Mmm..hmm", Luca nodded."But how is that possible, he doesn't have the mindset to pull such a plan like this to steal the technology", Venitia said

"It is possible, only if he has back up from someone powerful", Luca said and revealed a photo of Lucius and Romero together."They know each other??", Venitia asked with a surprised look. "I don't know but the picture here clearly says yes", Luca said placing his hand on his chin

"If that's the case, could it be that it is Romero that was behind the theft and he only used Lucius to carry it out thinking we won't find out", Venitia frowned

"Jackpot. I don't know what Romero intentions are but all I know is that he's up to no good", Luca said. He saved what he discovered into a flash drive and kept it in a well protected safe.

"Any news about the girl that was brought here yesterday,,,has the boss said anything about her", Venitia said

"I spoke to him about this in the morning but he said he'll pass his judgement when he comes back from work", Luca said. "Ohhhhh. But if you ask me,,I don't think that girl is a Mafia,,,,she looks nothing like one. She's too soft and weeps a lot to be a mafia", Venitia said and Luca sighed.

"You're right,,,she looks nothing like a mafia but it's the decision of the boss that matters. Let him decide whatever he wants to do with her", Luca said. "I know that but I just hope the boss will be lenient with her,,,she looks fragile", Venitia muttered.

"Enough of the prisoner's talk. Let's talk about something else", Luca said staring intently at Venitia. "Uhhh,,,What exactly", she said staring at him."Anything,,,like your boyfriend", Luca said and Venitia bursted into an awkward laugh.

"I actually don't have a boyfriend at the moment but I have someone I really like", Venitia said. "Are you actually saying the truth", Luca asked. "Yeah", Venitia said. "Oh", Luca said smiling inwardly.

He really loves her but he was scared to let her know,,he was thinking she has a boyfriend. But now he knows she's single,,he now thinks he has a chance with her.

"Uhm,,,i have to go...see you some other time", Venitia said and took her leave when the atmosphere became weird. Luca licked his lips and smiled. "I'll soon make you mine", Luca said staring at the door.

Dark room**

Ginevra could be spotted,, blindfolded and tied to a wooden chair. There was a gag in her mouth to prevent her from making any noise. Taking a closer look at her, you will see beads of sweat on her face and traces of tears on her cheeks.

She's been crying since she was brought in last night but it was muffled because of the gag on her mouth. She struggled to untie herself but it wasn't possible

"Is this how I'm going to die. My parents will die of heart attack if they know I'm in this condition. Please God save me", she prayed inwardly as tears ran down her cheeks.
