[Sinclair]

I was content to watch that wicked woman lose one thing after another that she had. She should know what it was like to be at the lowest point in her life. That stupid man helped her last year, but not this year.

Her in-laws were ruthless. She spared nothing, even taking away Darcy's rights. Her efforts to protect her property from her daughter-in-law's deviousness were commendable. Anyone would have done the same if they were in her shoes.

However, I didn't expect that heartless woman to give up so easily. I wouldn't have believed my men's report if I hadn't seen it myself. The evil woman shifted a wooden box and climbed onto it. She couldn't end her life!

My men held her hand, preventing her from going over the guardrail. They pulled her away from the place and brought her to me. The woman struggled, but the two men outmatched her.

“What the hell! Let me go!” the woman screeched in annoyance.

“I didn't expect someone like you to dare to die.” I glanced at the fence.

Darcy frowned. She glanced in the direction I was looking, then turned to me. “Dare to die? Who do you call daring to die? Hold on. Do you think I'm going to jump off the building?”

“Isn't that what you're going to do?” I said.

She scoffed. “Who are you? Do you know me so well that you know my thoughts?” she mocked.

“It's good that you don't want to die. I need you alive.” I glanced at the man standing next to me. “Pay your debt.”

Her face turned pale. Her brave attitude from earlier suddenly disappeared when she recognized the people around her. I wasn't the one who talked to her at the first meeting. So, I wasn't surprised to see her acting boldly.

“I don't have five million dollars. Please search my room. That's all the money I have,” Darcy muttered.

I smirked. “You have something that we can use to settle that debt.” I looked at her body intently. “I'm sure you can pay it off in a few months.”

“Go to hell. I won't sell my body!” she snarled.

“Why, you don't want your son to know his mommy is a wh*re?” I mocked. “Do you think he won't know all your past deeds? It's enough to make him embarrassed to meet you. That's why Channing took him off your hands. They saved his reputation.”

Darcy bit her lip and looked at me sharply. Her eyes were glazed over, but they couldn't touch me in the slightest. “Keane will understand when he finds out I've changed.”

“How will he know if you're not by his side?” I challenged her. I walked over to her. “You need a job, but all your friends refuse to give you one. You begged for even the lowest position, yet they declined.

“Tell me, who will give you a job besides me?” I stopped right in front of her. “You need a wealthy husband to win custody of your son. Do you think any man will propose to you with your bad reputation?

“You run a business. You're used to weighing the costs and benefits of a decision. Bailey's debt is long overdue, and I can't wait. My business could lose money if such a large debt isn't paid off immediately,” I concluded.

“Even if you kill my mother, I can't pay that debt,” she retorted.

“How long has it been since you've seen Keane?” I asked. One of my men stood beside me and pointed his phone screen at Darcy. “When was the last time you were this close to him?”

The woman rounded her eyes, recognizing who was in the video. One of my men was in Keane's room at Channing's house. He pointed the muzzle of his gun at the head of the baby sleeping in his crib.

“Yo-you wouldn't dare ...,” she stammered.

“My men can take out the security in that house easily. Why do you think I wouldn't dare kill your baby?” I challenged her.

Darcy swallowed heavily. “Wh-what do you want?” she asked with watery eyes.

“You'll work for me until you pay George's debt. The sooner you settle it, the debt won't multiply. Then, you're free,” I explained.

“Help me get my son back after I pay off my debt,” she bargained.

“You have no power here.”

“Go ahead and kill him. I'll catch up with him. It's better than living without each other.” She stared at me gravely. “You need me alive.”

“Kill the baby on my count.” I accepted her challenge. “One. Two. Three.”

Darcy didn't react when I counted slowly, giving her time to rethink and showing I was serious about my challenge. My men must have pulled the trigger, preparing to shoot the baby on the count of three.

“Stop! Don't! Don't shoot him!” she screeched frantically. “Okay! Okay, I'll pay off my father's debt! I'll pay it off!” She cried tearfully.

“Don't ever confront me again,” I said.

“Okay. I'm sorry. I'll obey all your orders. But don't hurt my son,” she sobbed.

I walked towards the elevator. My men were standing by the door, waiting for me. After arriving at the destination floor, my car was waiting near the exit. I rushed in, and the driver took me away from the place.

After a few minutes of driving, we arrived at a club. The driver entered the underground parking, and a man opened the door as the car stopped near an entrance. I glanced at the car that had stopped behind mine.

My men held the woman as she got out of the car. We walked together to the elevator. I waited patiently for the doors to open. A woman greeted us as we arrived at our destination floor.

“Is she the one?” Felicia asked. She scrutinized Darcy from head to toe.

“Take good care of her. She should be ready to perform next Saturday,” I reminded her. I exited the elevator to my office.

“Sin, it's too soon. I don't know her capabilities yet. Plus, losing weight will be the biggest challenge,” Felicia protested. She strolled beside me.

“Don't let her lose weight. It will lessen her attractiveness,” I argued.

“But customers won't be interested in seeing a chubby woman,” she countered.

“Felicia, don't forget your place.” I stopped in front of my office door and looked at her gravely. “Don't lose any weight.”

She swallowed heavily. “Okay, boss,” she replied obediently.

I entered my office. Seeing a man sitting casually on the couch, I wasn't surprised. Enzo was my assistant. He handled my work when I wasn't around. I sat on the settee across from him and leaned my body back.

“I didn't expect you to make her cry.” Enzo chuckled. “That woman was brave enough to bargain with you.”

“The important thing is that I achieved my goal. I won't let any of my clients go free after stealing my money. Fifty million dollars is a lot of money.” I closed my eyes. “George Bailey hasn't paid a dime. Fortunately, he still has his daughter.”

“Are you sure she's ready to perform next Saturday? It's a big event, Sin. Are you prepared to put your club's reputation in her hands?” Enzo asked.

“Let's bet. She'll ask to perform on Sunday,” I challenged him.

“So soon?” He scoffed. He was stunned to see me looking at him solemnly. “Okay. I bet you a thousand dollars. She won't dare perform on Sunday.”

I took my phone out of my pocket and unlocked the screen. I selected one of the apps and tapped on one of the security camera views. Felicia took Darcy to the practice room. She must have told her about our labor regulations.

Darcy would collect that fifty million dollars quickly. My customers would love her. Not to mention her curvy body would be a distinct advantage. I was confident that she would survive no matter how difficult the problems she faced. Because her son meant everything to her.

“The room for Darcy is ready. All her things from the inn had been moved there. Is there anything else I need to prepare?” Enzo asked.

“Take care of her food intake. Make sure the chef knows I'll kill him if she loses weight,” I said. “Everyone should know she has to look perfect next Saturday.”

“There are many other women who are better than her, Sin. You—”

A knock on the door interrupted our conversation. Enzo let whoever it was in. I was ready to hear bad news from my men. Because that was the only reason they disturbed me during the nightclub's opening hours.

“Sorry, boss. There's a problem at the entrance,” he reported.

“And you can't handle it yourselves?” I said.

Without looking, I could tell he turned to my assistant with a wry face. “That... it was the authorities who came.”
