A meaningful smile spread across Alicia's lips. Her captivating blue eyes sparkled as she read the incoming message on her phone.

The message was from Amora, sent about fifteen minutes ago, but Alicia had just opened it. She quickly replied to the message.

[Wait there. I'm on my way.]

Of course, Alicia was lying. She had just passed the café where they were supposed to meet and hadn’t asked Mark or her brother to stop there for a moment.

Soon, Alicia received a reply.

[Will it be long, Miss? I have other things to do.]

Alicia clicked her tongue in annoyance. She thought for a moment and then typed another reply.

[Just wait. You better be there when I arrive!]

A sly grin appeared on the corner of Alicia's lips. She was very satisfied with her response. She was sure Amora wouldn’t leave until she arrived.

As expected, Amora replied again. [Alright, I'll wait.]

‘Ha! Serves you right. Who told you to make me wait last time,’ Alicia muttered to herself.

She was still upset about what had h

"I don't know either," Alicia replied.Regis's eagle-eyed gaze immediately honed in sharply on his sister. "You don't know?"The girl rolled her eyes lazily. She snatched her phone back from her brother's hand and said, "Seriously annoying! Do I have no privacy left at all?"Alicia's protest went unnoticed by Regis."I'm almost 18, Brother. Stop treating me like a child!" Alicia continued, her face contorted with resentment."Still two months to go," Regis retorted, turning his sister's earlier statement around.Alicia grunted in frustration. She had no intention of explaining what she was doing to her brother. Her lips pursed in a sour expression, she simply stared at her phone screen to avoid looking at her brother.Regis's eyebrows furrowed."You're not dating a girl, are you, Alicia?" Regis queried with doubt, concerned that his sister might have deviant behavior.Alicia's blue eyes widened. Her gaze reminded Regis of their late mother, who had passed away when Alicia was about the

"He's Johannes Brown, my husband."A young woman with an extravagant appearance, dressed provocatively, suddenly interrupted the conversation to introduce the man standing next to her.The woman was Lisa Taylor, the mother of Benjamin Brown, who had previously clashed with Amora. She proudly introduced her husband and flirtatiously smiled at Regis.Johannes frowned. His face showed slight displeasure at his wife's overly flirtatious behavior."Mr. Brown is my deputy, Mr. Lorenzo," Larry explained with a cheerful smile."My father is David Brown. You must know him as he has met you at several meetings," Johannes said confidently.Regis didn't respond. He just looked at Larry sharply, making it clear that he didn't like the couple blocking his way and view."Mrs. Brown, let's sit down and talk," Larry quickly suggested, clearing his throat as a signal to Johannes.Seeing this, Johannes retracted his ignored hand and pulled his wife aside to make way for Regis and Larry.Without a word,

Larry was shocked by Regis's statement about the missing student. He looked back at his assistant and asked sharply, "Miss Smith, didn't you see him clearly earlier?"Eva jumped in surprise. She nervously wrung her hands, her face pale as a sheet of paper."E-earlier, there was a boy who left. He said he wasn't feeling well and asked to go to the restroom. I thought he didn't want the scholarship because his parents weren't here either," Eva replied anxiously.Regis raised an eyebrow. He indeed hadn't seen Amora in the room. He had hoped to meet both of them on the way to the school, but that hope vanished due to the school's negligence.Regis felt something was off about Amora and Rayden. He suspected someone was trying to prevent them from meeting him.Earlier, Rayden Lysander, Amora's son, had been in the room. Regis had seen him correctly. However, unbeknownst to Regis, Lisa had kicked the boy out. Johannes Brown's wife was disgusted by Rayden's presence. Before Regis arrived, Lis

Larry looked blankly at the boy still smiling brightly in front of Regis."What is this boy's name?"Larry asked his assistant, Eva Smith, about the boy who dared to call Regis "Uncle Iron Man." He was utterly shocked and embarrassed to have shown something so inappropriate to his distinguished guest."His name is Rayden Lysander, a first-grader," Eva whispered."Ahem! Rayden Lysander," Larry called to the boy.Rayden's attention shifted from Regis to the middle-aged man. His eyes blinked in confusion."What did you just say? Haven't your parents taught you any manners on how to address others?" Larry asked, immediately judging the boy.The smile on Rayden's face slowly faded. The light in his eyes dimmed. He didn't answer the question, fearing his response would spark more rumors around him.Lisa's lips curled into a

Although he had been directly shouted at and expelled, Amora's son still raised his face and stared sharply at Benjamin's parents. The boy knew that everyone, especially Benjamin's mother, must be very happy to see him humiliated and kicked out in such a disgraceful manner."I will leave. I don't want a scholarship that judges someone based on one-sided statements like this!"Alicia's blue eyes widened. Reflexively, the girl stood up and gave a loud round of applause for Rayden's words.Alicia gave a double thumbs-up for the boy's defiant attitude. She liked Rayden's defiance against the adults who had cornered him.She deeply understood Rayden's position because she also disliked being treated badly and humiliated like this. In Alicia's observation, the school foundation's officials were overreacting.Alicia felt the officials had no right to give a public warning in front of everyone to a child who was still struggling to understand the good and bad of the situation. She thought the

"I think they're already doubting your choice, Brother."Alicia's sharp remark, deliberately stirring things up, drew Larry and Johannes's gazes to her. The two men felt very annoyed and angry, but they didn't dare to express it directly to the girl.Seeing their expressions, trying to hold back their anger, Alicia couldn't stop laughing. She thought they looked like funny clowns."Oh really?" Regis raised an eyebrow. He didn't show any expression.Even though Regis knew his sister was deliberately toying with the school foundation officials, he could use the situation to corner them further."No, Young Master Lorenzo. Since their first meeting, he never expected to meet the man who had become his ideal father figure.Because of his spontaneous action earlier, Benjamin’s mother considered him rude. Rayden did regret his behavior, although he was reluctant to admit it.Regis smiled, then gently patted the boy’s head and said, “Who said I was embarrassed? Even though he was much younger than the other two men, he refused to be underestimated. Not wanting to engage in an argument, Xavier simply ignored him.Gino let out a heavy sigh. Hearing about Xavier’s arrival from Regis yesterday, he’d been so excited. He caught the latest flight, even traveling from another continent, just to meet him. But now that he was here, he was being ignored."Why am I even friends with people like you two?" Gino grumbled, his face set in a look of exaggerated annoyance. Of course, he wasn’t serious. It was just his way of expressing frustration.Since the incident that had involved them in a case of theft and auction fraud, Gino had grown to admire both Regis and Xavier. Laughter echoed in the soundproof room, filling the space with an almost contagious energy. A man with ombre blue hair, reminiscent of ocean waves, held a wine glass in his hand as he strolled over to Regis.“If I hadn’t done that, I’m not sure I’d ever have the chance to meet someone as honorable as you, Your Highness,” he teased, a smirk playing on his lips.“Should I buy a lottery ticket today? I must be lucky if someone as busy as you managed to attend my invitation,” the man continued, slinging an arm around Regis’s shoulder as he guided him toward the plush seating area.Regis, however, brushed off the gesture and glared sharply at him. “I didn’t realize someone as carefree as you even existed. Maybe I should switch careers and become a gemstone tycoon instead of a mafia boss, Young Master Moonstone,” Regis shot back coldly. The stylish man from head to toe was none other than Gino Moonstone, heir to a renowned gemstone empire. One of the ten largest precious gemstone mines in t

Regis raked his hair in frustration. He quickly typed out a reply to his wife, his fingers moving fast across his phone screen.[Sorry, Amora. It’s not that I didn’t want to reply to your messages. The last one didn’t send. I’m doing fine now.]The message was sent in seconds, but waiting for her reply felt like an eternity. Growing impatient, Regis decided to call her.Unfortunately, Amora didn’t pick up.“Where could she be?” Regis muttered anxiously. He called again, and still no answer. Running out of options, Regis decided to call his son. Within moments, his son’s cheerful face popped up on the screen.“Hi, Dad!” Rayden waved with a big smile.Regis smiled back but skipped the pleasantries. “Ray, where’s your mom?”“Mom?” Rayden paused for a moment, his eyes darting around before he turned back to the camera.“I think she’s in the bedroom, Dad. Mark was stunned. He shared the same thoughts as his boss, then said, “There’s information suggesting that Levent has recently been involved in human organ trafficking.”“Oh, really?” Regis raised an eyebrow, clearly intrigued.“Apparently, Altan Demir himself is handling the transactions, and because of this, he’s been clashing with Murat Demir. It seems Murat doesn’t approve of Altan engaging in such dealings,” Mark added.Regis smirked cynically. He found Murat Demir’s anger justified, as Altan was straying far from the vision and mission Levent had upheld under the Demir family.Levent had always focused on providing illegal services rather than dealing with tangible goods like Altan did now.Regis was certain that Murat disliked Altan’s actions because Murat had always chosen to work behind the scenes. He could only imagine Murat’s frustration upon discovering Altan’s endeavors.“Is the operation still ongoing?” Regis asked with keen interest.“It seems so, Sir. Our informants ha

The woman, dressed in a pink blazer and matching pencil skirt, stood in front of Regis Lorenzo's desk with a nervous expression. Her gaze lingered on Regis cautiously, worried about making a mistake, though her boss had said nothing for several minutes.“Just leave it,” Regis replied indifferently.Monica obeyed and placed the document on his desk. Her eyes darted to a neatly arranged lunch box that remained untouched. She had ordered the exact meal Regis requested earlier that afternoon, yet he hadn’t eaten any of it. Her thoughts were interrupted when Regis suddenly looked up.“What is it?” Regis probed.“N-no, Sir. I was just worried you haven’t eaten anything all day,” Monica stammered nervously.Regis’s sharp eyes narrowed. He glanced briefly at the meal and muttered, “I’m not in the mood.”“But you should

I’m only doing this to fill my free time,” Rayden replied. “But, can I continue the programming class later tonight, Mom?” he asked, looking for reassurance.Earlier, he had to ask the instructor for a break, interrupting the lesson. Now, he hoped his mom would allow him to resume the session later.Amora considered refusing, but when she saw the eagerness shining in her son’s eyes, she relented. “Alright, but just for an hour, okay?” she said.A wide smile spread across Rayden’s face. He hugged his mom tightly and gave her a kiss on the cheek.“Thank you, Mom. You’re the best in the world!” he exclaimed joyfully.Amora chuckled softly, her face lighting up with her son’s happiness. It’s called Python, Mom,” he explained.“P-Python? You mean … like the snake?” Amora asked, her surprise growing.Rayden chuckled, amused by her reaction.“No, Mom. It’s a programming language. She rubbed her temples, taking a moment to calm herself before turning back to her son.“Ray, do you even understand this stuff?” Amora asked, still trying to process her son’s genius.Rayden sighed again. “Mom, I’ll understand it with time and practice. She didn't know what to say because what happened to Lisa was completely beyond her prediction. She just wanted to teach Lisa a valuable lesson by making her feel as bad and suffer the loss as she had in the past.Amora wanted Lisa to feel a deterrent for insulting her repeatedly and being arrogant in front of her so she was forced to look for Lisa's weaknesses and finally reported the John Brown embezzlement case. She didn't expect Lisa to experience another unfortunate thing.A pang of guilt crossed Amora's heart, but recalling Lisa's past behavior, she thought perhaps this was divine justice for all her wrongdoings.“Maybe this is a reprimand for her bad behavior,” Amora murmured.Rayden nodded.
