She continued telling us about my childhood and several things that had happened until she mentioned my father’s death. That was the part I was waiting eagerly for.

“That dreadful morning, we all woke up to find his dead body lying on the ground and he was covered with blood. There was a heavy gunshot fight that night so nobody came out. It was so sudden and unexpected, considering the fact that our town was always a peaceful one. Everyone locked their doors tightly and no one could come out.” She narrated

By now, her husband had joined us in the sitting room where we were discussing. He was busy boiling some medicinal herbs when we first came so he couldn’t stay with us.

“What happened that day? I can’t seem to remember that much,” her head tilted to the side, trying to remember the details.

Anxiousness took over me as I waited for her to resume. She shouldn’t forget the most important details. If I can know what happened that night, I will know the next line of action.
