Danny’s eyes were wide. Sweat poured down his face. He didn’t say anything at first.

Then finally, he whispered: “We didn’t… get names. We were given directions.”

Juan’s eyes narrowed. “Directions?”

Danny nodded slowly, groaning in pain. “Someone trained us. Not military training, but enough to move clean. He wore a mask. His voice was changed. We only saw him twice. Never got a clear look.”

“So he wasn’t one of mine?”

“No,” Danny said, breathing hard. “But he knew stuff. He knew when your guys were working. Which crates to touch. Which to leave alone.”

Juan looked at him closely. “That’s inside knowledge.”

Danny nodded weakly. “He knew what was coming in and out. He knew the schedules. The routes. The exacrnt number of crates— three-forty-five. Sixteen were to be left untouched by us. Someone connected to your supply chain. Someone who handles the goods.”

Juan stood slowly, his mind racing. His eyes went distant, focused on nothing for a second. There was nothing he hated more than b

A few minutes later, Enrique stepped into the warehouse. Juan's eyes snapped towards him. "Where were you? I was told you left a few hours before the raid.""Raid?" It was either Enrique was a good actor or he was genuinely surprised that there was a raid. "Was that why Hernandez asked me to come in? Where's Giovanni, he said he could handle the rest and I was free to go because my wife was in Labour. What are we doing to recover the lost goods?""It's been sorted," Juan said through gritted teeth. He walked back into the room he was before with Danny, Giovanni and Hernandez. He took a slow, deep breath and walked toward Giovanni.“You really have the guts to sit there, look me in the eyes, and act like you didn’t know what was going on?” Juan’s voice was calm, but sharp like a knife. He was trying hard to stay in control, to not lose his temper. But the longer Giovanni stayed quiet, the more angry Juan became.Giovanni’s throat was dry as he swallowed. He tried to speak. “I didn’t—”

“I don’t know,” Giovanni said, clearly afraid. “I really don’t. I didn’t see his face. He said he was just working for someone else. I never got a name.”Juan looked at him closely. Something felt off. Giovanni wasn’t telling him everything. There was something more. But Juan couldn’t press too hard. Not yet.“Then tell me what happened after they threatened Belle. You must remember more than just that.”Giovanni took a second. He closed his eyes like he was trying to find the words. Finally, he spoke, voice trembling. “I gave them the info about the shipment. The crates, the timing, everything. I thought they’d just take what they needed and go. But when I saw it going wrong, I panicked. I called for backup. I wanted to stop it somehow. I wanted to fix it. But it was already too late.”Juan stared at him, breathing slowly. He was holding himself together, but barely. He couldn’t let his rage take over. Not yet.“So you called backup… not because you wanted to stop them. You just want

There was a short silence between them. Hernandez hesitated, then cleared his throat like he wasn’t sure if he should speak."What about Giovanni?" he asked, voice lower, more cautious now. "You want us to hit him? Lock him somewhere? Or... something worse?"Juan didn’t speak right away. His eyes drifted toward the dark warehouse in the distance. He stared at it like he could see through the walls, like he already knew what was going on inside. When he finally answered, his voice was cold and empty."Instruct the men to do whatever you think is best," he said. "Just keep him alive... for now. But don’t worry. When the time is right, I’ll handle him myself."Hernandez nodded, understanding the unspoken message. Then he moved quickly to open the car door for Juan.Juan stepped in and pulled the door shut behind him."Let’s move," he said quietly. "There’s no sleep for traitors. And no peace for the ones who believed in them."The car’s engine started with a loud growl and before they bo

Arya watched Juan as he returned to his seat at the kitchen island. He placed her plate between the two of them, like it belonged to both of them now and not just her. She looked at him with one eyebrow raised and pointed her fork in his direction."You haven’t even touched your own breakfast," she said.Juan leaned back in his chair. His eyes glanced at the untouched food on his plate, then looked back at her."I’m not really hungry anymore," he replied."Why not?" Arya asked, genuinely confused. "Don’t you like what you made? You can have some of mine if you prefer."Juan looked straight into her eyes, and a small smirk appeared on his face. It was one of those slow, teasing smiles that made Arya nervous. She mostly hated him, but at the same time she could not deny her attraction and that a part of her still cared."I want a different kind of meal from you, Arya," he said, his voice playful and low.She blinked, not understanding. "What are you talking about?"Juan leaned forward,

She would’ve earned that money back in four years, maybe less. But sure. Since you paid, maybe I’ll leave her alone. Or maybe not.”“I didn’t call to argue about her,” he said. “I want to know if you had anything to do with my shipment being almost taken.”Dominic chuckled again. “What shipment?” he asked. Juan was not sure if he was playing dumb or completely innocent. “I didn’t know you had one. But now that I do, I’m a little disappointed. If it had been me, I’d have taken the whole thing and left you a note.”Juan’s blood ran cold.“So it wasn’t you?”“No,” Dominic said simply. “But now I almost wish it was. You’r

He rested his hand flat on the door. “I didn’t know Belle would say something like that. I wasn’t ready for it—”“Neither was I,” Arya said. Her voice was quieter now. “You don’t have to explain. "You're right," Juan responded with a sigh. His jaw tightened ever so slightly and we walked off. She was indeed right and it had taken him a lot to admit that. The real reason he had even done that wa because he was too mentally exhausted to argue. Then he stopped in his tracks and turned to face her. "What were you going to ask me?""Never mind about that," she said with a right smile and began walking away, but of course, her short legs could only take her so far and it wasn't up to a second Juan was grabbing her by the waist, turning her body to face him. "Talk to me mio Angelo," he said in a low murmur that seemed more like a rumble out of his chest."N-nothing," she stammered, avoiding his eyes. She felt so small in his muscular arms. Juan smiled at his petite she was. "You sure about that?""It's something that can wait," she said, swallowing hard. “What do you mean fired?” Juan asked. His voice was full of disbelief. He walked back and forth across his office, his steps quick and restless. His fingers moved nervously, as if he didn’t know what to do with them. He was clearly holding back anger.Dominic’s voice came clearly from the speakerphone. He sounded calm, like this wasn’t a big deal to him. “I got rid of him. I fired him.”Juan stopped for a second, then shook his head. “Why? What did he do?”“He sold the layout of my estate,” Dominic said simply. “Gave it to one of my rivals.”Juan let out a sharp breath, part surprise and part anger. “Honestly, I’m shocked you didn’t just kill him.”There was a low chuckle on the other end of the line. “Yeah, me too,” Dominic admitted. “Should’ve just taken him out.”There was a pause. Then Dominic asked, “So tell me… what’s going on with him now? Why are you asking about Marco?”Juan’s eyes narrowed. “That’s none of your business.”“Oh come on,” Dominic said. “Don’t you think your old

“What have you got?” he asked after a moment, his eyes shifting over to look at Hernandez. Hernandez didn’t hesitate. “The gardener. The man who was seen walking toward Belle’s car on the day of the crash. We identified him. His name is Marco Bellini.” Juan’s forehead wrinkled, confused. “Bellini?” “Yes,” Hernandez said with a nod. “The tech team ran the security footage through facial recognition. The footage wasn’t perfect—the car was parked near a blind spot—but one of the cameras caught him from a side angle. It was quick, but clear enough. We see him walking near the back gate just a few minutes before the crash happened.” Hernandez swiped through a few images and files on his phone, and turned the screen toward Juan. “Look. Right here.” Juan took the device and squinted at the screen. The image was blurry, but a man was definitely there. “That’s him?” “Yes. It’s a positive ID. His name is Marco Bellini. He’s Italian. Looks to be in his mid-thirties. He used to work for Domin

"No, we didn't," Juan said, shaking his head. Belle crossed her arms and bit the inside of her cheek. She stared hard at Juan, hurt clear in her eyes.“You used to act like I was the only one that mattered,” she said softly. “Like I was the only person you ever really looked at.”Juan let out a tired sigh. He rubbed his hand down his face like he was already done with the conversation.“You were the only girl I really cared about,” he said in an exasperated manner, “but it wasn’t anything deep, Belle.”She blinked. “Not deep?”He didn’t flinch. His voice wasn’t mean, just flat. He didn't want to hurt her but there was no nicer way to put it. “I mean, I never felt that way about you. Sure, we slept together. But it was just sex. I didn’t think you had feelings for me.”Belle’s face twitched like she was going to cry, but she quickly pulled herself together. She adjusted herself on the wheelchair, trying to blink back the tears. “And why the hell not?” she asked, raising her brows. J

"And the only way your break would have been tampered with is bubs staff.""The only way they would have known what time you were leaving was by a staff as well," Hernandez said. "Why would they do that? I haven't offended anyone.'"Obviously to get to me... And distract me from something else.""And you didn't think to tell me?" She asked angrily. "You were in the fucken hospital Belle," Juan sighed. "And what were you going to do about that.""It doesn't matter, you should Have still told me.""We shouldn't be arguing," Hernandez cut in.
