Chapter twenty-one

Matthew and Sharon walked outside, and Remo instantly picked them up with the car.

Sharon looked over at the man, who she didn’t expect to have acted cozy beside her. He had always acted grumpy and rude; for a minute, she liked this side of him.

Her mind reeled back to how he had addressed her as “his wife,” and she found her face turning red.

“Ma’am, are you okay?” Remo, who had mistakenly taken a peep at Sharon’s face from the rear mirror, questioned

She instantly erased any traces of excitement from her face, and a little frown appeared on her face instead.

“I’m fine.” She mumbled, and her eyes fell out of the window.

The rest of the drive was silent; Matthew didn’t bother to say a word until they arrived home.

“We can get the ring another time; I don’t think today was the appropriate day.” Matthew's voice stopped Sharon as she was about to alight from the car.

She nodded slightly and got out of the car.
