Chapter sixteen.

Dee left her room afterward, and Sharon was left alone.

Her mind reeled with possibilities of where Mathew could be taking her, but she didn't dwell on them. Rising to her feet, she walked to her closet. Deciding to change out of the long gown Dee had selected for her that morning for the lawyer's office visit, she stripped down and changed into something simpler and more casual.

Just as she finished dressing up, a knock came on her door. She thought Dee had come, but after the door opened, it turned out to be Tara.

Tara raised her brows slightly the moment she walked in, and her gaze rested on Sharon, who was standing in front of the mirror.

“Are you going somewhere?” She immediately asked her.

“Yes. Matthew said we are going somewhere.” Sharon responded, turning to her face.

“And you are going in that?” Tara's brows raised even higher as her eyes scanned through Sharon from head to toe.

“Is something wrong with my dress?” Sharon mumbled, and she took
