148. The Appointment

Sofia's POV

I was awakened from my sleep by a faint crash noise and my eyes peeped open for a moment.

"Fvck!" I groaned for a second and made to close my eyes but a realization soon hit me.

I was working with my laptop last night and that was all I remembered.

Knowing I might have slept off with it, I sprang to a sitting position to see my laptop turned over on the floor.

"Geez!" I grit between my teeth and made to get down but moan gently because of the pain in my lower abdomen.

Why does it hurt that way?

After the pain subsided, I picked up my laptop luckily for me, it wasn't broken.

I worked through the night to find the location of the caller from North America but the line appears to be untraceable despite the best of my effort.

My attention was drawn to the buzzing noise from the stool and I picked up my phone to see a new message from Gloria.

There was also a missed call from her five minutes earlier.
