Chapter 149"Here, you can just drop it there." Annah said.As soon as she walked into the room, the first thing she saw was Connor, bare chested and with just a towel wrapped around his waist. He was on a phone call and she wasn't surprised because she had watched him take calls at odd hours of the day. She knew that he had just come out of the bathroom and just staring at him now, in that moment reminded her of what they had done a few days ago in this very room. Her toes curled when she remembered how Connor had made her scream towards the sky."Where ma'am?" Eric asked, cutting into her thoughts."On the center table, thank you." she smiled."It's no worry ma'am," he said, placing it on the table before taking a step back.It was then Connor turned back and when he saw them, there was a frown on his face which was immediately replaced by relief because he recognized Eric as one of his men."Thank you Eric, you've been very helpful. You can go now," Annah smiled. The young man nodd
Chapter 150The sound of the phone ringing was the first thing Annah heard as soon as she woke up that morning. Connor had completely destroyed her the previous night and true to his words, she knew that she wouldn't be able to effectively walk for a week. He had made sure of that and he had stuck to his plans.Annah could feel soreness all over her body most especially in her privates and even as she complained about it, she loved the feeling of being claimed by the man she wanted to spend the rest of her life with. It was a pleasant feeling and the pleasure far outweighed the pain and she wasn't complaining about it.The loud ringing of the phone close to her drew her attention again and Annah knew she had to get up and answer the phone because whoever was on the other line wanted to talk to her badly and she needed to answer the person because she didn't know if it was an emergency. The last thing she wanted was for there to be an emergency and she wasn't there to help the person.
Chapter 151"So what did he say?" Connor asked over breakfast three hours later. They were at the large dining table, just him and her alone. Martha and the others had decided to have breakfast outside in the open air. As they ate, Annah fed their child and as she stared at her bundle of joy, she realized that her son was growing bigger by the day. This was everything she had ever dreamed of and imagined and now, it was all coming to pass and she could hardly contain her joy."Look, he's staring at you." Annah smiled. He had removed his mouth from the bottle of feeder she had been feeding him with to stare at Connor as he spoke. He smiled, kicking his little feet as Connor made funny faces at him. Annah laughed as the baby continued to kick his feet, still staring at Connor."Hey little man, you want me to carry you?" Connor grinned. As if in response to what he said, the baby made small noises. Annah chuckled, knowing that this was a sign for her to hand him over to his father."Okay
Chapter 152"Here you go baby, sleep tight." Annah smiled. She placed her child on the cot, watching him sleep for a few seconds before she finally walked out of the room and downstairs towards where she had left Connor. As she walked downstairs, she was quite surprised that she didn't see him again when she had only left him a few seconds ago. She looked around her but still, he was nowhere to be found and she was quite worried because she didn't know where he had gone."Connor?" she called out. There was no answer and she was beginning to get worried because he hadn't told her that he would be leaving there anytime soon. She walked towards the balcony that overlooked the gardens and she was quite surprised that she still didn't see him. Alarm bells began ringing in her head as she wondered where he had possibly disappeared to within a short period of time. Everything was looking very strange to her now and she hated to think that something had happened but she knew that wasn't possi
Chapter 153Annah, now fully dressed, was ready to head out to check her uncle's property. She needed to know if it was in good shape because the last thing she wanted was for them to come live in a derelict place, one that wasn't fit for them."Are you ready to go?" Connor asked, walking into the room.As she stared at him, a mind told her to ask him what he had discussed with Hans even though she knew everything already but still, another mind told her to just keep quiet and go on with her plans silently. There were many things she wanted to say to him but she knew that the best thing she could do in that moment was just to keep shut. The last thing she wanted was to put a dent in their relationship because she knew that this issue would surely make them argue."Yes," she said, finally. If he noticed something wrong with her response, he didn't say anything and he carried on like nothing was amiss. Annah went back to the mirror, adjusting her clothes as she watched him through the m
Chapter 154Annah had forgotten the last time she and Connor had an argument and now, just sitting there with tears running down her eyes, she hated feeling this way, feeling this depression that was slowly setting in and she hated to think that this would be a very long thing because this was something they had been avoiding ever since but now, she knew that now that it was finally out, they needed to address it before it put a dent in their relationship. The last thing Annah wanted was for her and Connor to be separated especially since they were trying to get their relationship back together. It was a very tough decision for her to take and she hated to think that this would at last put a dent into their relationship. No matter what happened, she knew that a part of her was still connected to Fred and it would remain that way for as long as she lived."What's going on dear?" Martha asked, walking into the room where she was with a mug of coffee in her hands.Annah sighed, looking o
Chapter 155In Martha's room, Annah nervously approached Martha, her eyes glistening with unshed tears. She took a deep breath, her voice quivering as she began to speak."Martha, I... I tried to settle things with Connor today," Annah confessed, her voice laden with distress. "But he's just so adamant, he wouldn't listen to me."Martha's heart sank as she watched Annah's trembling form. She sighed, understanding the gravity of the situation, and reached out, gently taking Annah's hands into her own."I'm so sorry, Annah," Martha murmured softly. "I can't believe he's being this stubborn."Annah's eyes welled up, and a tear escaped, sliding down her cheek. She blinked it away, her voice quivering with emotion. "I know, Martha. I don't know what to do. I thought he'd understand, but... he's just not himself lately."Martha nodded, her grip on Annah's hands reassuring. "I promise you, Annah, I'll talk to him. We'll sort this out but please remember, whatever stress he's under doesn't ex
Chapter 156"Where is the boss?" Hans asked.Connor stared ahead of him, looking so lost in thoughts that Hans knew that whatever was going on with him had to be very serious to warrant the look in his eyes. He had seen a very cheerful Connor, a sad one and even a defeated one but this time around, what he was looking at was a frustrated man and he hated to think that there was nothing he could do to help him. He knew all about the problems he was currently having with Alina. It was an internal one, one that Hans knew wouldn't be nice to interfere because he knew that this was something they could solve themselves."Connor…" he said again. He had been driving round and around for several minutes and he knew that they needed a pit stop, a place where Connor could clear his head."What? Oh… sorry," Connor jerked, looking in front of him. What he could see was a field of grass and he knew that Hans had driven him here to clear his head. That was one thing he was grateful for and he was h
