“it's too early for you to give up when my daughter risked everything to come back to you.”

Damn. Axel had let that sentence spin around in his head since last night—keeping him awake without any intention of closing his eyes even for a moment.

The day had turned into morning, and Eve's father said he wanted to go back to Eve's apartment to pick up a few things and pick up his wife before they returned to the hospital.
