After a long night of pulling many shards of glass out of my body, I was able to get to bed around 5am, when I thought I had gotten all of the glass out and cleaned my wounds, even more popped up which only added to the hours of torture. I would love to say after patching myself up I was able to get some good rest, but that was far from being the case. I normally, sleep on my side as that’s what was comfortable for me, but due to my arms being savaged by glass and the huge bruise from my father kicking me back down to the ground, it only sent excruciating pain to ripple through my body preventing me from doing so. This meant, I was forced to lay on my back staring at the ceiling. Another thing which kept me up was the fear of my father returning, each time that I managed to get to sleep, I would jolt awake from fear that he was looming over me again. With all this stacked up, I didn’t get any sleep which only added to how awful I felt. But also, leading me to call sick into work for
Vito spent the next half an hour cleaning up all of the glass and even threw the old metal frame from the table out, the living room looked as though nothing had happened in the first place, aside from the little droplets of blood which were easy to not notice. I could feel myself drifting to sleep as I watched him, I didn’t know if it was because my side was more comfortable in a sitting position or now Vito was here, I knew my father wouldn’t try anything, but my body was finally, allowing me to sleep. The front door closing is what causes me to jump awake a little and look around. “I apologise for waking you, I was throwing the last of the glass out.” He explains whilst walking over to his suit jacket, which was still hanging from the sofa, I smile as he throws it over his shoulders. “Don’t worry, I’m a light sleeper away, I didn’t get any sleep last night due to this and my father. But thank you for cleaning, I know it would have taken me hours.” I say with a little laugh, but
Vito was soon pulling into the carpark of his office, his expensive black car filling up the space at the front. The building didn’t stand out to the normal person, it seemed dishevelled from the outside, just a rundown building with a few broken windows littered around the brick structure. But within, it held some secrets that the police would love to get their hands on. It wasn’t a secret to most of what Vito chooses to do with his time, most people in his inner circle refuse to ask question as to not get the full answer. For Vito, that was the best plan, if the police came fishing around, they had plausible deniability. The police have also been very aware of what Vito does but at the same time, have no evidence or clue of what happens deep within the walls of this place. Vito had to remain as secretive as he could, he didn’t need the police gaining access to this building. Having calmed down a little from seeing Coraline, he climbs out of his car to the cold spring wind which bl
There’s always something sad about a man sitting alone drowning his feelings in alcohol, and you can always point out who was there for that very purpose. They walk in without saying a word, wave down the bar man ordering the same thing each time, one drink after another until a drunk smile fills their lips. It’s then you see the other side of them, they dance around with the other punters, either overly happy or in most cases, get off their face to such a degree that they pass out on the floor in a drunken mess. Adam fit that category down to the last drop of alcohol, but the one difference which sets him apart from that list, when he’s had too much to drink, instead of being happy and jolly, he’s filled with nothing but anger, hated and rage. The first person which he believed looks at him funny, they see the dark side of Mr Adam and very quickly have to pick themselves up off the floor. This resulting in Adam being barred from two of his own local bars and soon to be a third. Yes,
I slowly begin to stir out of my sleep, I didn’t know how long I had been asleep for, but I can say one thing, it felt nice to get some rest. Opening up my eyes, I clock the black sky outside telling me I had been asleep all day, I can’t believe I wasted the day sleeping! Yes, I am aware of how much I spoke about sleeping in that one section. Before I had time to get up and move, a knock on my bedroom door sounds and in walks Vito, smiling over at me once he saw that I was awake. As he walked through the doorway, I spot he was in a completely different suit than what he was wearing this morning and a brown box which looked as though as it would hold food in his hands. “Vito?” I ask a little confused if my mind was still half asleep, I know he was so kind to me this morning helping me clean the house and well, even coming to visit me at all, but I didn’t think he’d return now. “It is great to see that you were able to get some rest, sorry I hadn’t visited earlier, I was caught up wi
After taking a couple of seconds to compose myself, I take a deep breath in walking closer to the front door shouting to the people on the other side that I was coming. I didn’t quite notice how Vito had taken a step to the side to not be in eyeshot of the door, but at the time, I was more worried on what was about to happen. I know I had never done anything illegal in all of my life, I’m sure to do everything the society rule book that we have tells me too, so the police turning up out of the blue was definitely, not something normal. Opening up the broken door, I soon find two police officers standing in the darkness of the sky, both looking over at me for a moment as though they were attempting to work me out. “How can I help you?” I ask leaning up against the door hoping to break the awkward silence, I knew they were looking over all the many cuts and bruises which littered my face. “Good evening, Miss, sorry for disturbing you so late but is this the residence of Mr Adam Hart?
I sat by my father's side for around an hour after; I had hoped the anaesthesia would wear off and he’d open his eyes and see after all that happened, he was going to be okay, and I was here for him. But the longer that I waited by his side watching him, the more I feared he would never. It’s an odd feeling to look at someone you see each day and in some odd way, you take for granted laying in a hospital bed, without any signs of life apart from their chest moving and a machine indicating when his heart would pump. I know throughout the years our relationship had been rocky, but he was still my father, and I knew deep down, behind all of the hurt feelings and the alcohol, he loved me. I wish I could have seen in the future and realised what was about to happen, I would have hugged him one last time, if he would have allowed me in that state. Vito stood the other side of my father with his arms crossed, I knew this was probably the last place that he wanted to be and in reality, I fe
His eyes begin to flutter open as like a butterfly's wings as he takes a look around, I know in his mind he hadn’t a clue where he was or why he was here, which is why I had to ensure he knew that I was with him. “Dad, can you hear me?” I ask standing up and moving so I was in his eyeshot, his eyes soon dart to me where a series of grunts begin to leave his lips before his eyes move down to his mouth in a panicked sort of state. With terror in his eyes, he begins to lift his hands to his mouth to pull them apart, his fingers going into his lips as though he was attempting to prey them open. My eyes go wide as I rush over and take his hands in mine, fighting with them with all my might before he inflicted even more damage to himself. “Dad calm down, your jaw has been wired shut due to the bones shattering, you won’t be able to open your mouth for a couple of weeks!” I exclaim still holding down his hands, I knew he was probably petrified when he went to speak but couldn’t. “You wer
8 months later: The bright lights of the sun streaming through the open windows cause my eyes to flutter open, feeling a little dazed at first, I look around and begin to panic at the scene. I was all alone in the huge bedroom before me, my mind of course going to the worst-case scenario as usual. Until a little note sat on the pillow beside me grabs my attention, it read: “I thought you could do with a little more sleep after the night you had, Lucio and I have gone downstairs to allow you some rest. Take as much time as you need, Vito x” With a smile at how sweet he was, I place the note to rest on top of the bedside table feeling the worry lift from my body. I barely had any sleep last night due to our son Lucio, having a rough night of his own. Vito kept asking if I wanted him to stay awake with me, but I knew at least one of us needed to be more alive this morning, but how nice he was that he took Lucio so I could get a little more rest. I gave birth to our beautiful son
Vito walked the halls of the warehouse watching as his new men from Henson went on their rampage and took whatever they could carry and even more. To him, this was the last job he needed to do before he could get home to Coraline, the life which he wanted was so close snd even growing inside the woman he loved and there was nothing that was going to stand in his way to get it. “One of the vans have gone to the hideout boss, it was full to the brim, these men work fast that’s for sure.” Buster informs Vito rushing into the room, a smile filling Vito’s face as he looked around as more men walked in and out of the room. “Working ahead of schedule, just how I like it.” He smiled crossing his arms over his chest, his mind full of all the ideas of what Coraline and him were going to do with all this money and what he was could to do for their unborn child. “Did you hear Jay; this place will soon be cleared!” Buster cheered over to their friend letting him know the good news, Jayden al
My legs could have buckled from under me as I began to read further down the page and fully absorb what was written, such confusion, anger and worry filling my entire emotions. Written in a rushed sort of manner stood what appeared to be a list of things Jayden had to do, none were simple or normal when it came to list such as, get the car fixed, grab some groceries etc. Before me stood the list. 1: Poison Coraline and blame Owen 2: Have Vito kill Owen off 3: Kill Adam Hart 4: Have Vito kill Henson 5: Kill Vito on the job 6: Grief with Coraline 7: Have her all to yourself. Each item on the list began to get even more sinister as the list continued, my heart sinking to my feet when I realised that Jayden had been behind all of the horrible things which had been happening recently. I knew right when it happened that it couldn’t have been Owen that poisoned me, none of it made any sense and was impossible to happen! But what also hurt to see, Jayden had been behind the de
The next morning soon rolls around quicker than I would have liked, I knew the job was looming close with each day, but now it was here, I was riddled with worry. Vito kept repeating that he had gone over each detail so throughly that there was no way anything was to go wrong, but I also knew not to underestimate the police, they could be way ahead of him without Vito even knowing. As we stood in the kitchen getting the last things ready, I stood with my arms crossed and my hands shaking from fear, I worried this would be the last time I’d be able to see him ever and after the news I had told him yesterday, it cut deeper than anyone would expect. “Alright, the men are waiting three streets away from the warehouse with Buster keeping them in check, we have to be there in forty minutes to ensure we hit the place in the window where the security are switching.” Jayden says going over what he had said so many times over the past few days, I’ve heard it so much, I could probably go wit
The room dropped to silence I had never heard before, my heart in my mouth as I looked to Vito to see his reaction. I knew he wanted to be a father but now was not the time we had discussed; it would hurt so deep if he told me he wasn’t happy. But also, with the death weapon which is in his hand and pointed at Louis’s head, I was more than worried to see where this was going to go. “I only found out yesterday after I went to the restaurant, I wanted to tell you the minute that I saw you, but I knew after how the last pregnancy ended, you’ll be a little more worried about me which is something you don’t need walking into the job tomorrow.” I begin to say breaking the silence when Vito didn’t go to move or say a single word. “I wouldn’t know myself if it wasn’t for Louis, yesterday, we didn’t stop the car because I wanted to look at the scenery, we had to stop the car as I was throwing up on the side of the road which is when Louis asked if I was pregnant. I took a test and I am.” I t
After managing to successfully, avoid slipping up to Vito and telling him about the baby for the first half of the morning, we pulled up at the huge warehouse which felt like a second home at this point, so Vito can have the last meeting with the guys before the big job tomorrow. Climbing out the car with my huge water bottle in hand hoping water was going to help the sickness ease, I walked up the steep stairs hand in hand with Vito to find it was only Louis waiting there throwing a ball in the air and catching it. “Alright boss and Mrs Boss, Buster and Jayden are running late, something about a crash on the motorway, I tend not to listen to explanations much.” Louis said sort of explaining why the others weren’t here but at the same time, giving us no information at all. “They better hurry up, we have a lot to go over about tomorrow especially, now we have more men on the team to keep in line.” Vito grumbles a little annoyed that we had to wait around for the others to show bu
We remained at Henson old shop for the rest of the afternoon, Vito explaining to each man what was going to happen with the job and what he expected of them. To my happiness, no other men were killed as they all played ball, but Vito was quick to remind them what was to happen if they either didn’t turn up for the job or did anything to backstab or disrupt him and let’s just say, neither way sounded great for these guys. After the meeting, Vito took us home telling the rest of the guys to meet him at the warehouse tomorrow, whilst we went home to Vito’s huge house that I had yet to be given a tour of. Still being covered in blood from all he had done today, Vito takes a shower as soon as we arrived home leaving me alone to get ready for bed. But now I was alone with my thoughts, I couldn’t help but stand there in such a state of shock for all which had happened in the space of a day. I went to the restaurant and helped them with their Henson problem, finding out soon after that I’
As soon as the guy dropped to the floor, the room shifted even more as some men even backed as far away from Vito as they could well others, wanted to seem tough and stand their ground looking right at him. “Now we had a thought, Henson had a lot of men under his payroll, some who relied on him to pay their bills, my wife here worried that some of you would grow hungry without him. Which is why as her doting husband, I was sure to set her mind at ease. I have an enterprise and due to recent events, the biggest one in the town. You guys are out of work due to his death, and I have an endless stream of jobs going, do we know where I’m going with this?” Vito asks looking over at the men making it seem as though they had a choice, but we all knew what would happen if they refused to work for him. “I ain’t working for you!” Another man shouted off to the side, where it was now Jayden’s turn to do some crowd control and ended the man’s pleas. “It appears the men which Henson hired wer
We soon arrived at an office type building right in the centre of London, the busy street offering little to no privacy of what was going in and out of this building. Henson must have not seemed to care what people saw of him if the centre of his operation was right in the centre of the city, or he felt untouchable due to his ego. Pulling up the car around the back of the building in what appeared to be the loading area, Vito reaches into the back and pulls out a gun concealing it within his inside jacket pocket, whilst the gun he had pulled on his father was also in another pocket, how many guns does he think he’ll need?! “Alright Pequeño, you’ll be coming in with us.” Vito explains which certainly, was new information for me. Throughout all of this, Vito had always ensured that I was no where near the danger, but now I’m walking into this. “You’ll be right next to me the entire time and Louis.” He continues whilst the guys begin to get out of Louis’s car beside us, but I was sti
