"Is something wrong? Why are you looking at me like that?" Loretta asked as she walked down the stairs in a knit maxi dress with keyhole cutouts and crochet throw-overs that Fabian had gotten her.

"No, not really. Perfect. You're perfect." A little smile appeared on Fabian's lips, and the sight of that made Loretta chuckle.

"Just say what you want to say," Loretta smiled.

"You're very beautiful in that dress, Retta, and I can't wait to see how beautiful you'll be without it."

Loretta rolled her eyes and blamed herself for asking that type of question in the first place, like what was she expecting? She didn't think Fabian would be so raw with his words.

"Why did you roll your eyes, Retta? Thought you'd like an honest compliment." Fabian brought out his hand for her to hold.

"Yeah, I do love compliments, but there are some things you just can't say," Loretta said, taking his hand as they left through the door.
